"Did the player dominate the game at his position during the era in which he played?"
This doesn't mean he had a couple of Pro-bowls and maybe was on a SB winning team.

The spread offense that was started in the 70's by the Cowboys with the shotgun formation has been improved on by Marino's Dolphins in the 80's, Kelly's Bill's of the early 90's and Mahomes Cheifs of this decade.

@@robertcerda92The voting process might need to be reviewed but the 10 year window is a chance to separate the different era's in the sport. If you can't standout separate yourself with your contemporary after ten years then you are not an HOF for your era. There need to be a clear cut line both in terms of excellence and also in terms of era. Were you the best of the best in your era you are in, if your name comes up tens without selection you're out. So now you won't have guys going up against guys that played 20, 30 or even 40 years earlier when the game was played differently with different rules.

Like WR wareing gloves that help the catch, grip the ball and rules help them, but stickum not allowed bare hands. Rule changes for safety I get it but that allows them to play longer of course they will break records. You break a record that took you 16 to 20 years, 16 game season. Some one did in 13 to 15 years 14 games season who should really be in HOF
