You probably already figured this out, but for anyone who is wondering and sees this: 1) select object in object mode ( in this case, an armor piece). 2) shift click select your armature. 3) go into pose mode and click on a bone you want to add the object to. 4) press ctrl + p and select parent to bone. now the object will move/rotate when the bone is moved/rotated.
