He never gained great fame individually, but Kenny Gardner was a superb big band singer. His voice and style perfectly complemented Lombardo's dance-oriented Royal Canadians.
There was a Dance Ballroom in downtown Los Angeles, "Myron's" featuring this Big Band music into the 1970s on Sunday afternoons, 'Orin Tucker's Big Band featuring 'Wee Bonnie Baker 'often Jam-packed
Love their "drifting and dreaming" type of music that just flows so smooth and effortlessly. Also, their song of Drifting and Dreaming" is beautiful that I used to listen over & over as a kid on the old 78's.
FANTASTIC SONG AND INTERPRETATION WITH GUY LOMBARDO ITS SHAME THIS SONG DONT LIKE IT AT TEENANGER PEOPLE EVEN I AM 30 YEARS OLD AND I LIKE IT THIS SONGS
My mother and father introduced me to Guy Lombardo in the 1950s when we lived in Chester, Cheshire, UK. I was so glad to find recently this recording of his band playing live. The style is so attractive and foot-tapping; it makes you want to get up onto the dance floor. Kenny Gardner's voice is easy on the ear. Thank you, MisterStereo!
Carmen wrote and recorded another song that you seldom hear. I heard it once on a cable station that was showing Guy Lombardo's orchestra and one of the songs was "Little Red Cabin"...written and sung by Carmen. Actually it was sung on the show by Carmen, Kenny Gartner and another I can't remember. I would love it if you had this song and posted it....it is that good...Thanks!
In December of 1953 I was discharged from the Army . I brought a date to the Roosevelt Hotel in NYC to Lombardo's New Years Eve party. There was the trio of Kenny and Guy's brother and a sax player that did all the singing. I can't recall any female vocalist. Going home at 3A.M. on the NY subway I spotted the sax player standing on the crowded train. He was wearing a rain coat pulled up tight around his neck trying to hide his Tux. Funny what simple memories we have
great story..you are lucky to have been there. I was only 4 years old at they time and grew up watching guy on the TV. New years was never the same without him.
Hola, no soy de ese tiempo pero la música no tiene tiempo y más esta bella y hermosa música. Te causa felicidad ese tiempo que se fue más la música se quedó.
@05310910 These Guy Lombardo clips look like they were part of the band's syndicated TV series from the mid-50's. But I don't know if the programs are available on DVD. Would be awfully nice if they were.

Trombone soloist is Frank D'Annolfo, ex Glenn Miller, Charlie Spivak, and Tommy Dorsey. Great vocals by Kenny here!

The sax player you saw was possibly Cliff Grass, who played sax, clarinet and did vocals with the Gl Band.

For all of us that don't mind being dated, New Year's Eve was never the same after Guy ended that long play date......never will be either

At one time, when they were on PBS in the late 90’s to early 2000’s, they were for sale on VHS. Don’t know if many of them sold though.
me gusta estas canciones de mi jubentub
