    Man I just can't get over how you manage to be exactly where I spend every winter. I test drove an ST at San Tan Ford and that little lake you're at is where I just took a bike ride last time I was there. I know this is a 'who cares' comment, but it's still a 'what a small world' moment for me each time I recognize literally everything in your videos haha. Glad to see the ST is healthy man!

    I just came back from SoCal as I had a "PermaPlate" Exterior and Interior Protection/Sealant application added on my vehicle. The look now is great because it looks like it just came out of the showroom, instead of it sitting outside prior to being sold. Also, it looks like you're looking into a Mirror meaning, it's so shinny and looks great. It was only $495.00 from a dealership in California.

    I have a 2017 with 14,200 miles and had the windshield and one front right tire replaced. I went with an aftermarket lifetime windshield and haven’t had any issues since. The original windshield chipped every time a pebble bounced off the road. I don’t drive much as you can see by mileage and a windshield shouldn’t be getting chipped every 5 drives to the grocery store on asphalt roads. The OEM imo is cheap glass which is not uncommon. 25 year master mechanic here who’s family owned several nationwide glass companies many years until safelite bought them out. Very familiar with mechanics, body, ecu tuning, auto glass, etc.

    @chuck1776 Před 6 lety

    Good vid as always! Here's the thing re: coolant. It is a sealed system and shouldn't need to be topped off as far as I know. The last oil change I had, I noticed they had to add quite a bit of coolant and that got me to wondering. I asked them why it was low and they were clueless so I asked them to look for any obvious leaks and they couldn't find any which is even more suspicious. Where is the coolant going?
    So, I've been having my oil analyzed with each oil change since the car was new. The tech takes a mid-stream sample of the oil as it is draining and I send that off to a lab. (Check out Blackstone Labs) The phosphorous, potassium and magnesium levels in my oil have been increasing. From the previous oil change to my most recent - potassium has gone from 0 to 24 ppm, phosphorous gained over 140 ppm and magnesium almost doubled from 7 to 13 ppm. According to the lab, those are clues as to it possibly being coolant in my oil. Now...why would that be in the oil? Ahh...how about a leaking head gasket? Yeah, it's going in the shop next week for further diagnosis and I'll let you know but I'm not terribly happy.

    • @mikeym8918
      @mikeym8918 Před 6 lety +1

      I was wondering the same thing with mine. It shouldn’t just be disappearing or evaporating. I’m wondering if the gasket is the culprint. Hey, kind of sounds like the rs -_-

    • @chuck1776
      @chuck1776 Před 6 lety

      I don't think I've ever heard of coolant evaporating in a closed system - more specifically, if it did evap, it would condense back to a liquid once the system cools off resulting in no loss. Coolant passages in a motor are isolated from those passages for oil, so unless there is a leak between the two, coolant should never be found in oil.
      There are only four places (in general) coolant can go missing:
      1. Out an external leak and onto the ground (they looked and found no leaks) 2. Out through the tail pipe getting burnt (turned into steam) because of an internal leak
      3. Into the oil through an internal leak (head gasket, cracked block, etc.) 4. A very small amount may evaporate from the system if it's not a closed system (ie: no overflow reservoir) but we have a closed system.
      Being my first turbo car, I thought oil analysis was a worthy investment to track things and I'm glad I had it done - without the previous numbers, I'd have no idea what's cooking (no pun intended - LOL!).
      Once I head to the shop and find out what's up, I'll certainly update this post with Ford's findings...

      @@GreatGrandmasterWang - I don't know. I dumped the car in March 2019 for a new Charger R/T. I gave two dealers each a chance to figure it out and neither of them could explain why the coolant needed to be "topped off". One of them did a dye test and there were no visible leaks. I did have an oil analysis done on my last oil change and there were trace chemicals in the oil that "indicated it could be coolant"...but that's as much detail as Blackstone could give me.
