I love how much “personality” the strider has in this chase. Like it’s motives are obviously machine but the way it moves and even reacts, like getting surprised as it scans the area and realizing that Alyx is underneath it. Really nails home how the striders are synths and not full robots

@Eric Miret you can't just say "no" to things that have literally been datamined from the files, lol. they still exist even if you don't like it. files that hint towards russel in hl3 have, indeed, been found as for russel's lack of appearance - the resistance is large enough that he could have been off helping elsewhere, just like with Magnusson before the events of Episode 2 (we never saw him until reaching white forest cuz he was there the whole time).
The sloped buildings were actually making me dizzy too. I would try to correct my head so it was level with the slope of the ground, but that would throw off my balance. That last chapter was absolutely trippy.

i first played alyx on a stinky computer and the whole strider chase lost its effect when source 2 glitched out and when the strider headbutted the wall it was just glowing bright red for a few seconds :(
I feel bad for Jeff... He seemed like a nice guy and I might have let him live peacefully inside the garbage grinder forever without crushing it LOL. Also Alyx was real mean after she crashed him in there and laughed about it D:
What the HEV suit does to a mofo. Gordon's juiced up with that thing, and not only that, but didn't you have allies in most of the strider fights too? On top of the suit difference, Alex was winging it solo through a parking garage, with only a (admittedly quite helpful) goofball in her earpiece and a lucky artillery cannon on the other end. TL:DR Alex is as badass as Doomguy in this level.
This one part was scarier than 90% of the VR horror games I've played. I feel like Half Life 2 doesn't convey enough just how massive and terrifying Striders really are.
Well, I have a theory. The striders in HL-2 and its episodes are more of CP striders, meant to track down and destroy rebels, bu the one in HLA is meant to destroy stuff like Jeff and is equipped with stronger armor. Gordon would have a harder time taking this one dow, without the combine-grade grenade launcher.
@@benefactor1201 False. The striders in Half-Life Alyx were being made before the citadel, and are far less advanced than the one in HL2. Striders will be much harder to take down in our mod :)

I noticed something, Kelly bailey incoporated scientific terminology in the titles of his soundtracks (LG Orbifold, CP Violation) unfortunately this is not the case anymore :( but Mike Morasky did a good Job capturing Kelly's grit and tone
Kelly used random dialogues for the titles of the majority of HL2 songs and its episodes. Those scientific terms you mention are said by Kleiner and Judith in some of its dialogues (Calabi Yau Model, for example, is said by Mossman when she and Gordon met in Black Mesa East; LG Orbifold is a code said by Kleiner during the teleportation test in his lab, etc...)
Laidlaw was actually the one who named Kelly’s tracks. The names for the tracks in HLA are currently only the file names, but that might change with an official OST release that’s been hinted at.

when i look at this music i remember the level it was fine until a FREAKING STRIDER GETS UP which is what is think is the most impressive fight since hes the only boss battle imagine running from a strider shooting you while having to stop and take healing stuff im happy Valve announce they will keep going with half life and the ending is the proof

If you carefully notice the colour of the text it will be blue and orange ( colour of the portals in the portal saga ). As the book is about teleportation maybe he is assosiated with aperture science..
He might have first worked for Aperture but got fired by Johnson before GLaDOS decided to just gas literally every single employee who went to work on Bring Your Daughter To Work Day. And then gone to BM without telling them about how the ASHPD worked.
