Love this song. You really do wake up one day and realize you are the Eyes of the World.
This is luminous w Branford, the BEST
This version is such a whirlwind of happiness
well said!
completely
this show was so smoking I wonder why it was never released officially
Thank you! I was there!!! NYE shows in SF & Oakland were incredible events.
True story my first husband in 1995 drowned in front of my sons and I in high Sierra lake, days before Garcia died who also saw his dad drown. Those were some of the darkest days of my life….
Took me a long time to embrace their music because of the pain.
Bless you with strength. I wasnt at this show but have seen many shows at Oakland with my wife. Glad to hear you have put your life back together.
So sorry to hear this. How terrible.
Thanks for reup loading. Definitely the best version ever
Listen to 6-10-1990 Cal Expo and you'll find another jewel from 1990...along with Nassau Coliseum and this one. I was at this show right behind Bruce Hornsby looking down the microphone line and it was sweet 🤪
Phil went next level in this period.
So good. Chills.
Delightful. On the musical stratosphere with The Marshal Tucker Band and The Allman Brothers Band- progressive American Rock and Roll.
High and I run across this , thanks much...
tears
Best Version ever???
It’s up there, but 3/29/90 beats this.
@@sneakerfacevids441 Thanks for the comparison but I still give this the edge. The audio balance between the band and the audience coupled with Marsalis's perfect restraint and Hornsby's touch. I could play this on a loop. Peace!
@@jerrykeys3851 I guess we’ll just have to agree to agree that I’m right... 😁😁😁
@@sneakerfacevids441 Seems like Jerry gave Branford a bit more room in the 3/29 version.
well.. maybe the best 90's or NYE Eyes
Moar Phil. He slays in this iteration.
I loved the two commercials. They were nice breaks during the song. Made a grilled cheese sandwich.
I thought they were intrusive...
@@planetmuman LOL yea I was being sarcastic. I can't listen to a song and have a commercial break in the middle. I let it go sometimes and power through it but after the second one I couldn't listen anymore. It's like stopping to take a phone call during sex.
@@jackstraw6760 I'm here to spread the word of our savior Adblock
🤣
whats on bobby's cheek?
That thumbnail looks like John Travolta
Wow I was in prison after being caught in the typical "deadheadraid" and would cry myself to sleep cause I was on tour for 4 years it was my existence............... I did what I did to make money on tour......
It's the truth of so many people got caught up in..... our bus was everything to another of tourheads... more stories if anyone is left from the REAL tourheads...
This is the only NYE that I got to see the boys...I think it was the last time they played NYE?
The last NYE was in 91, a year later. No Branford, no Bruce at that one :(
