I have said for years that the Dead represents you and me as Americans. Each individual is a blending of culture. And each individual came from completely different back grounds,education, religion and race. Not to mention each individuals struggles with sobriety and other moral decisions. A TRUE representation of who we are and always will be. God rest your soul Jerry

This song went through a major transformation through out the years. As did many of their songs. Grateful dead was an ever changing and ever evolving band. Jerry Garcia was a fan of taking fast songs and slowing them down. He could really make them shine

This version sounds like they really are already dead. Dreadful and I don’t care if it is their song.
Wow Jerry looks really really REALLY bad. He puts on at least 100 pounds by the end of 1984 which is what most likely triggered his diabetes & heart disease. During their summer 84 tour he was nodding off on stage -the Indianapolis show was the only good one. He was such an amazing musician it’s a damn shame he destroyed himself.
