I didn't use to fret about when to water which plant until I got a big beautiful fittonia and she up and fainted on me seemingly from one moment to the next. Now I check in on her every day and often use my moisture meeter to measure soil moisture. Before then I just watered when I saw signs that my plants needed it but I'm learning now that by that point they are stressed and that it not good for them. So now I'm being more proactive with watering instead of reactive, especially now in the summer months.
