New York Enacts Ridiculous New Gun Laws In Response To Supreme Court Ruling

In response to a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that determined sections of New York's concealed carry statute were unconstitutional, Democrats in the New York State Legislature on Friday passed a slew of new restrictions affecting legal gun owners.
There is an extensive list of hurdles including having applicants disclose their current and past social media accounts so the licensing officer could review them to see if anything the applicant may have posted would, in the mind of the licensing officer, be objectionable and disqualify the applicant.
If an applicant clears all of the hurdles involved in obtaining a concealed carry permit, they would have to be aware of an extensive list of places where it would still be illegal for them to be armed.
They include government buildings, schools, colleges and universities, medical facilities, churches, libraries, and entertainment venues such as libraries, theaters, arenas, and stadiums.
Legal gun owners with concealed carry permits would also be prohibited from carrying in a park, on a playground, at a polling place, at a parade or a protest, or while using public transit.
They also could not carry while in a bar, or even in a restaurant that serves alcohol.
In fact, under the new laws, they couldn't enter any private business or property with a legally registered gun, unless that business or property owner posted a sign which says they can. And even if they mistakenly carry someplace they shouldn't, they could be charged with a felony where, if convicted, they would lose their constitutional right to keep and bear arms.
While it's long been established in the state's law that a felony record bars an individual from legally purchasing or processing a firearm, the new law would add several misdemeanors to the category of infractions that would disqualify an individual from owning a gun.
This isn't even all of it!
These people are not trying to protect you they're trying to control you and protect their power.

If you pick up your drunk friend from a bar to take him home safely, you are committing a felony, even if you don't have anything to drink.

Polling places have historically been on those lists. But, you are right. Go anywhere where it's not posted, and you run the risk of committing a felony. But, as Best Ever says, "only if you get caught." Best solution? Move out of NY.
True story based on not having guns in a federal building. I was going into Denver to renew my Security Badge. The office is in a state building where courts are. No guns, I already knew that. Parked my truck around the corner, not very far. I was doing this while a supervisor was covering my shift long enough to appear at the office and do my thing. I left the gun in my truck and holster on my belt. Left minimal stuff in my pockets to get through security without taking too much time. Security guard at the door tells me I can't wear the holster. Why? Because someone might slip a gun in there.

Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man."

Perhaps you can do another video about NY & Kathy Hochul who wants to “protect us citizens” and perhaps you can look into some other changes Kathy Hochul made along with the legislature in NYS which basically threw out BAIL in NYS, yes including for REPEAT OFFENDERS whom have long records of convictions on their personal arrest records! What this has done in NYS in the last year or two since they put this in action is open up all our jails and let out all kinds of people whom were awaiting trial…. problem is along with people whom might be under their initial offense and have never been convicted whom can’t afford bail, they are also just letting out hard core criminals whom have arrest and previous conviction records as long as my arm! How is this reasonable!!?? How is this making me and my family safe!!?? There have already been several news articles about since they let everyone out of jail because of the new laws in NYS that a past violent offender with previous convictions for criminal offenses was released according to new bail laws and then they went right back out and assaulted some innocent person when they should have been sitting in jail not being able to afford bail waiting for trial on their most recent offense! How the heck can Kathy Hochul say she “has to protect me and my family” when her other laws she and the NYS Legislature recently made is PROVEN to do the exact opposite, PUT MY LIFE IN DANGER!!??
Can you answer that? I sure as heck can’t figure the logic out in the above while also wanting to protect me by taking away my CCP!!!
