Great conversation! I feel like ballistic coefficient/bullet design have become the most important considerations for long range performance. "Speed kills" will die a slow death but over time as the understanding of BC's role in efficiency of travel becomes better understood it will inevitably lead to more buy in of bullet design in relation to shot placement...as in "what is the bullet designed to do and where is the best spot on the animal to place the shot for a quick, ethical kill".

I’m from the south and love hunting out west where the type of shooting you’re describing makes sense. However there’s probably 3 or 400 to 1 hunters that will never shoot 500 yards hunting. The use nosler partition or Hornady interlock maybe a Barnes copper. So before you throw off on the old / outdated cartridges we should all be happy with how we chose to shoot. How everyone get a good whatever they hunt this year.

Good but it's been well covered by the Hornady podcasts. Where's the Gunwerks twist to this?
