This is a great song with a powerful message. Yes, those twin lead guitar solos by Midori and Miyako are already legendary, in just six years. They are five of a kind.

Brian Robertson and Scott Gorham from Thin Lizzy were the first guitar duo I ever listened to, and then the lads from Priest and Maiden. These ladies just take that great tradition of dual guitarists to the next level. 🙂👏👏👏

    LOVEBITES - Rising lyrics:
Failure or pride? The fear deep inside
Success doesn't come with a few empty tries
Fortune and fame, seem easy to claim
But those who've succeeded defeated the pain
Why give up on a life that you love?
Play the game with no shame till the very end
RISE AGAIN - though you're broken and scarred...
You can choose, not to lose, you can build it again!
DON'T LET GO - of what's deep in your heart
You are free to fly, go and change your destiny!
Too late to change? The past will remain
But it's up to you to decide on a name
Glory is not what miracles brought
The path you have taken will lead you the way
Why give up on a life that you love?
Play the game with no shame till the very end
LIVE AGAIN - with the vows in your heart
Even if you get lost in the darkest of nights
DON'T FORGET - that you've made it this far
Show your scars with pride and believe your history...
Sometimes we can't see the light anywhere
Sometimes we don't have our luck in the air
Almost like we've been left by ourselves
I'm alone, you're alone, somewhere in the world
But open your arms, look up and you will see an endless blue sky
l believe, you believe, we will live out today
    So it leads to tomorrow!
SOLO: midori / miyako / midori / miyako / both
RISE AGAIN - though you're broken and scarred
You can choose, not to lose, you can build it again
DON'T LET GO - of what's deep in your heart
You are free to fly, rise above your fate!
LIVE AGAIN - with the vows in your heart
Even if you get lost in the darkest of nights
DON'T FORGET - that you've made it this far
You are free to fly, go and change your destiny!

Wow, the relationship with Rainbow is very interesting! And Midori and Miya are really amazing! I love the passage in "Rising" where Asami sings (almost a capella), with Midori's keyboard in the background, at 7:20 I loved the reaction!

Those three first Rainbow albums were pure gold, Rising might be one of the best rock'n'roll albums ever. Just yesterday I was in a little rock store here in Barcelona and bought a Rainbow 1977 DVD concert.
I don't see a connection between this song and Rainbow tho, but if you see something might be you are right. Miyako wrote this song, and Miyako has mentioned several times that she grew listening to Queen and Rainbow because her mom loved them, and Ritchie Blackmore became one of the guitar players she looks up to. Maybe you are seeing something there that i do not.

Thanks for finding your way back to LOVEBITES! I suggest watching, reaction or not, this song LIVE in 2020, with [cc] lyrics. The words are awesome! czcams.com/video/6nci8KtXJPk/video.html
For a LOVEBITES song reaction that is not in your LOVEBITES playlist, "Inspire" from the studio-LIVE Awake Again in 2020: czcams.com/video/uoEDAIHMc3Q/video.html
Or "Trio of Miho" (playlist linked below) is 80 minutes into the set, 13, 14 & 15 (13min 50sec total time) in a 16-song main set.
    "The Apocalypse > M.D.O. > Don't Bite The Dust"
All 3, lyrics by Miho, music Miho/Mao. A good example of their relentless 'pacing' in LIVE performance.
Apocalypse is full of amazing transitions from Haruna & Miho. Quite progressive to me.
Takes us to Hiroshima/Nagasaki 1945, musically & lyrically.
I think M.D.O. is thrash. Expressive performances to accentuate Miho's lyrical series of 'harsh truths' and 'uncomfortable wisdoms' transcending her 30 years(!) (Most Devastating Observations)
Need I say more than the title of song 3? again, as all LOVEBITES songs, so many transitions, so imaginatively written & precisely performed! I know you have seen/heard this one before, it was Oct 19, 2021, so days from being a full year ago!
It is 'important' in that it lifts the mood to positivity after the brutality & harshness of the other two...
(cuts at end due to near-segue into "Holy War" after 1hr 35min at this pace! Amazing Haruna!

Welcome back to the pack. If you’re familiar with the Rainbow album “Long Live Rock and Roll”, I’m convinced that Miyako has recycled the main “middle eastern” theme to that song, (only ever so slightly different and vastly speeded up) on the song “Shadowmaker”. If you know “Gates” I’m sure you will hear it straight away. Miyako was, at least subliminally, influenced by Ritchie because her mom is a big Rainbow and Purple fan, and Miyako’s musical diet growing up featured those two quite heavily I understand. I’m of the opinion that “greatness” blinds many people to “skilful”. I’ve been lambasted for saying that I consider Lovebites to be the best band I’ve ever heard. That I’m a huge Blackmore fan doesn’t mean I’m committing a heresy, he’s still my favourite guitarist, probably always will be, but as a sum of its parts, Lovebites has the best of every single facet you can imagine in one single band. Rainbow didn’t, Purple didn’t (compare Ian Gillan to Asami, his vocals were shot because he didn’t take care of his voice) So in terms of skill, it’s not odd to say M&M could be the best duo in metal, ever. They are. That the band isn’t world famous is neither their fault nor relevant. And finally, agree 100% about Dio’s performance on Stargazer, but would go one step further. If it’s not the best rock vocal performance ever, then it has the best outro by a rock singer ever. Dio, like Asami, put literally everything he had into his vocals, never more so than on Stargazer.

First of all, yes, I’m very familiar with Long Live Rock and Roll (The album and song) and Gates of Babylon. (See my reaction to Yoyoka covering Kill The King). That is my second favorite Rainbow album. My third is actually Down To Earth. Love that album.
I didn’t know Miyako’s mom was a Rainbow and Purple fan. That is awesome. I still very occasionally listen to their first few albums. I even have a Rainbow Rising t-shirt. I would rank Stargazer as one of the top vocal performances of all time.

I've had songs in my head that I thought were classics but after a while I move on to newer things and those 'classics' are forgotten.
Rising IS a classic. It a fantastic, uplifting metal track that ticks all my boxes. And hightlights the talents of these wonderful ladies perfectly.
I'm a sentimental old fool but the rear shot of Miho sama head banging at the start of the breakdown/solos puts a lump in my throat. I can't let go even though I know I should.

It isn't crazy to say. I mentioned that I saw KK Downing and Glenn Tipton live in their prime over 40 years ago.
These two women surpass them I feel, and the reason they do is they had a Downing and Tipton(and a couple others of course) to watch and follow, or to emulate maybe, in a sense.
The newest best artists in general are better than their predecessors for the same reasons, they have an envelope to push, a bar to raise. Without a mark to try to achieve or better there isn't a reason to......er, you get my meaning I'm sure.
I won't live to see it but in 20 years or 30, another duo will come along and smash it, because they were inspired by Miyako and Midori.

Long time no see Bobby. I'm glad you are back in one complete piece. I want you to watch the live version of this czcams.com/video/6nci8KtXJPk/video.html. You'll hear and watch the magic at the moment when Miyako switchs from guitar to piano and switchs back to her guitar. It's a magic, so smooth, quick and natural without missing a note as if she is playing the same instruments on the same rhythm.
    Tell hello to Ozzy!

I’m not sure if you’re implying I’ve never really listened to Rainbow. If you’re talking about the albums after Down To Earth, you’d be right. If you’re talking about Down To Earth an earlier, you’re very wrong.
