I made a J box with a photo cell on it for my Christmas lights outside in stead of turning on and off a switch or a timer just plug the box in and let the sun do the rest

How did you diagnose the bad sensor out of curiosity?

Thank you! It was just the logical decision. I knew I had power because the light was operating. The only variable was the switching device that controlled it.
