      One thing that isnt a good idea is to shut the main off because when you turn it back on there is a surge that happens which can blow appliances out second no rubber grommets for the holes drilled through the metal house electrical wires vibrate which will cut through the insulation of the wire which can cause a house fire just saying. Knowledge is key with electrical.

    Very important!!! Before you use a tester ALWAYS test the tester. Put it to a known hot wire. If it doesn't beep then it doesn't work!!!

    If a fixture is loop wired, the white is NOT a neutral.
    The very first step in this process to to find the circuit that powers the light and turn that circuit off, look at the switch interrupting the fixture, if there are two black wires this fixture is wired traditional, if there is a white wire on one terminals of the switch, stop and consult an electrician.
    The photo cell requires a neutral wire to operate.

    hey Manny I loved this video! it is an economic way to have light in those times of the morning that we can't see clearly our driveway or front yard and actually saves a lot of energy and by that I mean electricity bill. 😂 one thing ⚠ i want to advise you to do is, next time you're about to work with dangerous materials, make sure to make a p.s.a. before you get to the video itself for those people that are under 18 🔞, so you alert all the young viewers to ask permission to use the tools, and ask a parent or someone older enough to work with those dangerous tools instead of the young viewer. thanks for reading, I'm excited about your new 666 van! hahaja

    how do you prevent the light from deactivating itself once you add the sensor? like when it gets dark enough to trip the light and then the light shines on the sensor and it cuts power thus turning off the light.

    • @brucemitchell3755
      @brucemitchell3755 Před 3 lety +2

      You have move the sensor far enough away from the fixture so that the light the fixture emits does not hit the sensor. That will require a wiring scheme different than that shown in this video
