    Great review! Thanks for focusing on both pros and cons so it's easy for us to decide whether or not it suits our playing style.

    Thanks David! I am looking forward to your next review! I need more power but do not want to sacrifice control, so definitely am interested in hearing about the 16mm.

    Good review, thanks. I have been using an original CRBN 1 (13 mm and 16 mm) for over 6 months and they are not wearing out on me. Not sure why some folks claim theirs are wearing out so fast? Perhaps it is something that they do in their play style? I hit the ball very hard on overheads and volleys coming from a squash and tennis background yet I find them to be very soft on resets and dinks. Definitely, the 1X and 2X series has even better sweet spots and overall feel.

    Did you ever try the 16 mm paddle and did it help with more control? Would love to see that review

    Just got my 2x 14mm a week ago. I was using the CRBN 2 13mm just prior. Love them both. I have a table tennis background…so I use a lot of spin. The amount of spin I can generate with these paddles is insane. After a short adjustment period…I’ve been able to figure things out to limit unforced errors. Resetting…especially from the transition area was where I noticed the biggest difference between my two CRBNs. A lot more pop when trying to deaden the ball with the 2x. I played with Prolite Titan LGRs prior to these CRBNs and the build quality and durability of the CRBN is substantially better than Prolite…not even close. I’m hoping to rotate between the CRBN 2 and 2x for the remainder of this year. My only complaints about my CRBNs has been the grip wrap. I have changed them out with Prolite diamond no sweat grip tape. I think CRBN will be my battle axe of choice unless they change this formula up too much.

      Thanks so much for watching and the thoughtful comment! I have always used a Yonex Super Grap instead of the stock grip of every paddle I've used, I really like the tacky feel in my hand with it. I am with you in the sense that I am sticking to the 2x and adjusting my game to it, the new power I possess adds a very crushing component to my game with the ability to punish attacks and finish overheads.

      Very interesting, I am using a Prolite Titan Pro Lx and I played only 2 games with a CRBN 2x, how do you compare them? Titan feels faster in the hand and has more pop to it but I thought it's very easy to reset and drop with the 2X, what is you experience comparing them? I need something with more control and placement but I still love the speed and accuracy of Titan, and use a good enough of spin in my game which Titan can't give me.

      @@notnotnownow9622 …I had the Titan LGR. I never played with a Pro LX. I did like the Titan. But my skill level has jumped as I have played more often since switching to CRBN. The CRBN 2 and 2x are more crisp than the Titan. I have the 13mm 2 and the 14mm 2x. Both have plenty of pop. But I like the 2x more at the net and for control. Could just be in my mind…but I haven’t found a reason to use my CRBN 2. It’s only in my bag as a backup. The 2x fits my game well. I hit a hard topspin heavy serve and use topspin a lot on my forehand drives and backspin a lot to vary my backhand dinks and drops.

      Are you using a table tennis western grip?

    • @mjmarcjohnston
      @mjmarcjohnston Před 6 měsíci

      @@Patrckbrd …I switch between the western and handshake style depending on the shot. Flick / roll shots…more of a western grip.

    Good video! Do you put lead tape on the paddle?

      Yes I do, I weight it up by 1 oz on the throat of the paddle (towards the bottom). I should have mentioned that - thank you for the question!
