First time I ever saw someone surf Lances Right was Kelly Slater in a video he released back in the late 1990's or early 2000's. The beech was all jungle at the time so there was nobody out but him and a couple other guys and they had to sleep on the boat. Now it's so crowded it almost looks like Country in the middle of Winter.

There was plenty of waves for the 15 or so guys out. Well worth it…
Theres like 90 guys out at pipe during the winter but only like 10 catching waves alot of people are just bouys and big heavy breaks

@@NathanFlorence Truly! When you think you only see 5, suddenly there's 50 😂 Also I always really appreciate keeping the vibe of the raw GoPro mic audio, I actually worked on the water audio recording quality at GoPro for a long time, love hearing those mics enjoy the glory!

i can get a general feel for the crowd and pecking order, but for the most part its turn taking, anyone not taking turns stands out like a sore thumb

Me again…watched all of it now. Who is the wahine who gave the bodyboarder room for a ride as well? That’s aloha spirit…she also got a great ride at 41:34 into this epic. As for the mouth camera barrel views, two of them were awesome: at 35:03 where you see the side of your head and the tube ahead…the clarity of the footage and the barrel are great; and again 40;27 with the golden sun glow on the barrrel ahead…these two clips are the best and all you need of the inner tube shots, otherwise it’s too repatitious and those best ones are diminished. The paddle out footage and muffled voice …you had to be there I guess…a few little clips of those when you call others into a wave, or when the wave is closer to you is all you need…just sayin’. Wishing you more great scores on your travels and in Hawaii, as I enjoy seeing them. Aloha

nathan you have no idea the caliber of surfing you are in right now. Prolly top 3 WSL. I know they arent riding like you now in conditions like this. Both of my lil boys watching a legend like me getting barelled out their minds when young setting that stoke. you have no idea how good the surf was on this video and how casually your necking the vortex to the face. your speed control is absolutely bananas now, you going boogie speed one second or like a snail then like a race car in the other then like a snail sucking up the barrel to the last drop. Best regards papa. Dont forget how easy it is to take cod batter and make fried fish with cod batter or some tostones with green banana.
