  • Hey Everyone, in today's review we'll be checking out the 2009 Ford Expedition EL Limited & 2009 Chevrolet Suburban LT. Both vehicles seem pretty nice, but lets see how well they've held up over the past 11 years. Which One would you pick?

Drove suburbans for 10 years and bought a 2011 Ford Expedition EL Limited 6 years ago. Absolutely LOVE it. Great ride nice features and great looking. At 149,500 miles I have no intention of getting rid of anytime soon.

I bought my first ford expedition 4 years ago with 165k miles for $6k. Did some updates on all suspension parts and maintenance tune ups, it been running great. No transmission issues or any check engine lights. Still going strong hitting 260k miles soon. Ford built tough for sure!

So sad Ford never put a 5.0 in the Expedition

After checking out both brands back in 2004. I bought a brand new Expedition because the 2nd and 3rd row seats go down completely flat and the fit & finish looked higher quality. I still own it to this day. And them outside mirrors on the Expedition have power fold.

Ford finally made the 5.4 into a great engine, then came the ecoboost sadly

From what I’ve seen, the Expeditions actually tow better. They have a more secure feel when towing heavy trailers at higher speeds. This particular generation has the independent rear suspension which allows for more flexibility, rear seat legroom and fold flat seats.

Expedition is way way way nicer inside and last for ever .. sold my 2007 215 miles original engine and trans .. only issue was the torque converter but I drove it with a bad torque converter for 40000 miles.. never let me ... some problems with coils but once you replace them truck will run for ever

I've got a 2008 Expedition XLT. 243,000 miles and runs fine. Oil changes and tuneups. Finally changed the altenator at 237,000 miles. New set of tires and I'm keeping her.

I love my expedition i have one engine coil that needs work done to it but I took it to Washington DC and it pulled no problem through all those mountains and too Tennessee same through the mountains no problem. I was able to pack it of everyone clothes and bags and a ton more room and thats stuff for 6 people and everyone was completely comfortable. Absolutely love my ford

I have a 2017 Expedition Limited with a 3.5 Eco Boost, awesome power and easy on gas. Zero problems. Tows and handles great. Averages 21.3 MPG when not towing.

Thanks for the upload 😊, and nice cars. I'm purchasing a 2010 Suburban LT these days myself. Don't know if anyone did comment the rear seats, but you can drop both the second and the third row on the Sub, only different is you don't get the flat floor on the Suburban.

In 2017, I swapped by 2009 LT Suburban for a 2014 Expy EL Limited. My Expedition has 90K on it and I have no plans to replace it. If I had to replace it, it would be another Expy or perhaps a Toyota Sequoia. GM build quality has really slid in recent years.

We bought a 1999 Suburban new. It still runs great. The leather seats are worn and some of the radio lights have stopped working. The paint has started to flake a bit. Other than that it is fine. It doesn’t use any oil. It rides a bit rough. It has taken a lot of people a lot of places. It is a 4x4, and it does great in sand and in snow and ice. It has been worth the money.

  • @chrisgraham2904

I bought the 2012 Lincoln Navigator "L", which is virtually identical to the Expedition in drive train and interior layout, but has a number of standard upgrades over the Expedition. Note that the power tailgate switch mounted on the door frame of the Suburban cannot be accessed from the inside when the door is closed. Ford/Lincoln chose to place the switch on the interior side panel so it can be easily accessed to open or close from the interior. Very handy when camping and sleeping in the vehicle and it cannot be activated by children when the vehicle is in motion. With a full 54 inch wide flat deck with seats folded, it fits a double size air mattress perfectly.

Team Ford but I'll acknowledge the older Chevy Suburbans are very reliable. Late 90s, early 2000s
