that's what i was thinking! the instrumentals were supposed to drown out her voice, im pretty sure, like how husk was trying to drown her out.

I think that part is fixed to include the rest of the denizens of hell, talking about how everyone is being ruled one lord or another. Husk has Alistor, Angel has Valentino and so on.
3:02 it's not so much as blackmail as it is dept peonage or possible indentured servitude. Husk probably made a deal or gamble with Alastor that resulted in having to give up freedom in the afterlife or work under Alastor when he's called upon.
I think Hazbin got delayed because of the recent writers strike,since it was supposed to come out around this time
(Amazon) Prime video ended up buying the rights to air/stream it. They've since released an announcement trailer confirming a January 2024 release date, as well as confirmed they ordered a Season 2 already.

I think the instrumental drowning her voice out is intentional. Possibly to showcase Husk resisting her help and redemption.
I was surprised that you didn’t comment on Alastor laughing in the background when Husk says, “It’s what he knows, so I did what he pleased.” Btw, he’s referring to Alastor knowing that Husk has a hole in his soul.
Alastor isn’t blackmailing Husk with any secret knowledge. He took advantage of a weakness he saw in Husk and offered him a deal when Husk was at his lowest. He literally owns Husk’s soul, so yeah, he can tell him what to do. Husk doesn’t bother to fight back bc he’s totally given up on himself at this point. He’s a “husk” of who he used to be.
The creator even said that Alastor thinks of Husk as a pathetic drunk. This seems borne out by Alastor’s distaste when he offers Husk cheap booze to do the job in the pilot.
It’s canon that Alastor considers Husk a close friend. Yeahh, Alastor’s ideas of friendship are a little twisted, bc he’s a lot twisted.
But it makes me wonder if Alastor chose Husk to help at the Hazbin Hotel not only bc he thought he’d do a good job, but also because he thought it might be good for Husk. Liven him up a little. Which…it did.
Man, they have an interesting dynamic. I can’t wait to see more of their backstory.
