Side note for horror: there is a scripted VR horror show from Eli Roth and CryptTV through the meta tv app called The Faceless Lady. Been watching it and it's pretty cool. Episode 5 is out today and episode 6 next week. Each episode is around 23 mins.

I'm not surprised demand for Apple's headset is down, Ludicrous price here in Australia at AU$5500.
Needs to be under half that price if they want mass adoption, I consider myself a tech enthusiast but there is just no way I would spend AU$5.5k on that.
If Pico uses this software on their up and coming Pico 4s it will be very good for them as they could offer their own store and the Quest store also

why not just develop in openXR? That way apps will work on any headset.
For the demand down section, I mean common! I think anyone could of foretold interest dropping for the apple vision pro, unless your middle class or up you were even getting 1 anyways! And for spending $3500 for it not to have controllers basically crippling usage with games made it pretty useless for a mass majority of VR users, I think I speak for most of us when I say we are in this for the games! I watch 3d movies on my every now and then, but I got interested because of the games! lol
They will continue making vr headsets but if the market gets flooded with better alternatives they may drop the hardware and become like a pc software platform.

Carmack revealed they sell the headsets at cost... so in theory if they got Xbox, or Asus to handle making and selling the headsets they would just make bank off software... and maybe data? :D
