- While in Catemaco Veracruz we called the Nanciyaga Ecological Reserve home for 2 nights. Nanciyaga is located just 7 km from the center of Catemaco and is located on the banks of Laguna de Catemaco, Lake Catemaco.
You can either visit Nanciyaga on a day trip or you can spend the night in one of their cabanas in the jungle! At Nanciyaga they do jungle tours, spiritual cleansings, mud masks, temazcals, kayaking and so much more! It really is a wonderful place to escape and relax in Los Tuxtlas VERACRUZ Mexico.

I grew up going to my grandparent's lake house in Catemaco and I think the last time I went I was under 10 years old, about 15 years ago. It has such a special place in my childhood memories. I suddenly felt like I was back there smelling the nature (bc there is a particular smell), and feeling that black volcanic sand on my feet again thanks to your video. I even realized that the sound of the lancha from your previous video, tickled my brain with happy flashbacks of doing that tour with my family. Glad to see it has all stayed the same and it still just simply beautiful. Can't wait to go back. Thank you for cherishing Mexico as the locals do. Love you guys, so glad I found you!

We’re just home from the Mayan Riviera and we stayed in the jungle in Akumal! Hotel la Luz is magical! We saw monkeys, a fox and many reptiles. Definitely a fabulous experience! Check it out on Airbnb. ❤️

Seems like a pretty rustic experience! I love being out in nature though so it would be nice to unplug and just enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. The food looked pretty good, ad a relaxing mudbath and massage seems like a nice treat! Too bad it was a bit "jungle-y" at night for sleeping 🤣 I hope you got used to the sounds.
