The latest-generation Vauxhall Astra has already wooed the automotive world in its hatchback form, but what about its bigger Sports Tourer sibling?
Offering greater practicality than the hatch, the Sports Tourer is aimed at those that like the Astra's new quirks but need a bit more wiggle room when it comes to storage space.
However, estate versions of hatchbacks are aplenty in the car market, so the Astra Sports Tourer will have to compete with the likes of the Honda Civic Tourer, Volkswagen Golf Estate and Peugeot 308 SW.
We take the new Vauxhall Astra Sports Tourer for a spin to see what it can do.
Constantly updated, Car Keys provides first-hand video reviews, as well as all of the latest car news.
Our experienced journalists are passionate about the auto industry, and strive to provide you with all the information you could possibly need before you decide to purchase a new car.
All reviews are available at www.carkeys.co.uk/, but did you know that reviews are just one element of what we do? Our website can also help you find the right car, at a price you can be sure is fair by comparing it against prices paid by other consumers and our own market data. We’ll give you the low down regarding the overall cost of owning specific cars whether you are looking to buy outright, finance or lease a new car.

I've got the previous (2015) Astra Estate but with the modern 1.6 diesel engine in the higher power output. This is the quietest, most comfortable - and relative to its engine size - quickest car I've owned. I had a 2 litre Mercedes for 10 years but got scared of renewing due to the injector problems the company was going through. The Vauxhall is fantastic and I'm so glad I bought it. I'm a motorcyclist and like to corner hard. I do the same in the car and can report the handling is fantastic. I've driven it across France at a good motorway speed and got 56 mpg (which I measured myself, the car's reader was underestimating its mpg!). I think I will stick with Vauxhall and buy the same again.

Had the 1.6Ltr Diesel Elite for a year now . No problems at all so far , very well built , as well as our last 3 series BMW tourer . Doesnt have the same sporty feel as the BMW but is def more comfortable and returns on average 58mpg compared with the bmw at 42mpg 2ltr diesel . Seats are very comfortable on long journeys .Get past the badge thing and I honestly think its as good in many ways as our last German car along with much better build quality than I think ive seen in a vauxhall. Would def buy again

I had the last version and found it very good, have the S40 just now and would consider the tourer next time to save a wee bit of cash

I have a 2019 Astra Elite Nav Tourer automatic 1.4 turbo petrol 150 bhp ( in the same colour Emerald Green ) Vauxhall have now stopped production of the Astra Tourer and, also the Insignia Tourer, in my opinion this is very stupid of them to do this, my present car is my 23rd Vauxhall I will never buy another new Vauxhall as I only like Tourers ( estates ) can you tell me why Vauxhall have done this......probably to sell more SUV'S?

It comes with decent tech as standard. For 2016 it is a big surprise coz the competition only released their basic without stuff like android auto or CarPlay and reversing sensors 🤷🏽‍♂️

Since Astra G...( Good in anything but does not excel in anything in particular) this is finally with improvements and yes i agree i do not really see why anyone buy the hatch over the estate ...

Then you're obviously more interested in the badge than anything else. Vauxhall makes great cars and has come along way in recent years. Plus they actually design their cars unlike vw who mass produce the same boring crap year after year. You belong on the bus lol
