  • I compare Dell's new XPS line up the 13 (9300), 15 (9500), and 17 (9700). The laptops are similar in many ways, with few differences. I let you know which one you should buy.

      Higher core processors generate more heat at max use, so thermally throttle in the smaller cases. So you would pay more for no extra benefit.
      The 8 core in the 15 inch is probably not worth it, likewise the i9 10 core processor when that model is available.

    Great video! More informational than the XPS site.
    I'm looking for laptop that meets my multimedia and coding needs. I will also be carrying it along with my 14 inch office brick. I've narrowed down my choices to XPS 13 touch with i7, 16 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD or XPS 15 i7, 16 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD. Both of them cost roughly the same.
    Can you please help me out here with the following questions?
    1) Does the extra 1 pound in 15 make a big difference?
    2)would I need the gpu in 15 to run deep learning programs?
    3) Is the screen estate of 15 worth the extra weight? I can always hook my 13 to an additional monitor while working from home.
    4)I'm not very invested, nor would be in the future, in the apple ecosystem, but do you think macbook pro is also a choice for me(I'll never be buying an iphone though)
    Sorry for the poor grammar and the extra long message.

    Awesome video as always! I'm excited to see your channel grow. I was thinking of getting the 15, but hearing that its fans louder than the rest was quite disappointing, as that is my main issue with laptops these days. My main pc is a Dell gaming laptop from 2016 which is 15 inch and its already super loud at times and heavy for work. Do you recommend that i go for the 13 inch? I love the size and portability of the 13 inch. My only problem could be the speakers. Are they bad as it's at the bottom?

    • @DayoAworunse
      @DayoAworunse  Před 4 lety +1

      Gaming laptops are known for having bad speakers, so coming to the XPS 13, you might be surprised but don't expect MacBook quality speakers. Standalone they are fine, but are definitely an improvement from your Gaming Laptop from 2016. You definitely get a bit more punch in the MacBook Pro 13" though.

    It is so cool that you reply to comments to help!! I was thinking about getting the xps 13 but have gotten a bit worried because of all the talk of loud fans, high temperatures, coil whine, and flickering screens. Is this all just overhyped and blown out of proportion or should I be worried?

    • @DayoAworunse
      @DayoAworunse  Před 3 lety

      Negative comments will always outweigh positive ones. That being said, I did have issues with my XPS 13 (coil whine, random black screen when trying to unlock my face, unresponsive at times) and the XPS 15 (bad trackpad [has been fixed], black flickering when unlocking my face). Dell seems to have poor quality control that they are trying to fix and a mixture of this is just Windows. If return policies are generous where you are buying from, try it out yourself, everyone has a different experience, but from my usage, Dell seems to lack in quality control.

      The 15/17 seems like a lot of wasted space around the keyboard if this is a desktop replacement, some more comfort with wider keybase would make this more a desktop replacement to me.

      XPS 13 can give you touchscreen at the cheapest price. Something that will last long with a touchscreen, you gotta drop money on XPS 15 or 17 4K model which doesn't really seem worth it. You could look getting the Surface Laptop 3.

    1. Can I use two power bricks to solve the charging problem ?
    2. Can I disable the dedicated GPU somehow ?
    3. Can I use high refresh external display for gaming ?
    4. Can I use e-GPU with it ?

      13" for me, but that's because I enjoy using laptops in bed or have something extremely lightweight and portable. I don't necessarily need all that crazy power from the 15" or 17", if I needed that, I would focus and work on my desktop computer. I like to value my money and it just seems that the 13" is the best value for me. But I agree, Windows on a laptop experience is horrible. I really only like the desktop experience.
