Saim Hann 4 the win. This video fills me (as a Saim Hann Player) with joy & pride .
Great video. thanks & keep up the awesome work.
Fly high fly fast and hit hard.
Riding the wind ain't free!! Love seeing them rise to prominence!
@@ProxyHammer1 I am very happy for the player of this Saim Hann Liste. But 4 the love of god, please stop playing it at tournaments. Otherwise GW is going to Nerf the hell out of them.
@@b2g7h8 Haha 😂
Hey cool to see the results of an NZ tournament here - cheers! I'm a noob so dunno much about tournament play tbh, but good to see the Aeldari take it! As a NZer I do feel it's my duty, though, to note that the winner is Maori, judging by his surname, which is pronounced: with "o's" as in song; "ng" as in... song, but it's "ngo" so the "ng" sound leads; "u" as in super; and "i" like the double-e's in street. In case you're interested haha
Hey man awesome!! Ahh man I thought I was pronouncing his name correctly I even looked it up before the video to make sure because I knew it was a Maori name and didn’t want to do it injustice!!
@@ProxyHammer1 All good man, I'm not Maori myself so I'll just say that it's the effort that counts, and you're ahead of plenty of non-Maori NZers in wanting to get it right haha. Cheers again for the feature, and keep up the great work with your videos - we're all lucky to get such devoted content!
@@Greymyster For sure man Ty for saying so!! Of course as well I’ll keep it up!
When I start 40k in 5th I went to a games day and saw a massive exhibition game between swim hann and orks. I was sold. I ran a swim hann army based off 2 apocalypse boxes - 'windrider host'. It was amazing to play. Loved it's play style, zipping around the board, being completely outnumbered by everything!!! ❤
Dude it’s just as awesome in 10th!! So cool!
I CALLED IT LAST SUMMER !
Nice dude! Yes they were always solid!
Saim-Hann rules!!!
Yes absolutely!
My personal favorite : 9 + farseer. To use fire and fade and overwatch on. They might even kill a block of 5 termies.
3+autarch : specialized anti-lone op
6 + warlock : if you don't have the points in your list for a vyper
They work well with : vypers, shroud runners, Eldrad (wounding on 2s)
AND : BLADESTORM STRATAGEM !
Also : character with weeping stone candidate here
@@yannroshdy love those weeping stones!
Windriders are an S-tier unit. I'm convinced of it.
Absolutely 100%
Love the autarch skyrunner flex, shame he cant join shining spears though that would be cool
I know he really should be able to!
Its a nice theme force, of course its not optimzed. But it looks like a lot of fun.
I think the sweetspot for jetbikes is one big unit with farseer and warlock, that hogs fire and fade.
I’m highly considering buying more Windriders for just that purpose!
I’ve been playing something almost identical to this after I discovered warlock skyrunner conclaves are underwhelming. Kind of gutted I didn’t get good and get to a tournament before someone beat me to it 😂
Debating dropping 2 farseers for a foot lock and some storm guardians, feels less thematic tho.

Dude I absolutely love the list! It’s looking very thematic and cool 😎
thinking about the sniper with precision in the Shroud Runners unit, if they take just 1 pv on a character in a unit, when the wind riders make damages on this unit, the character that lost 1 pv will be the first model removed from the unit . Am i right ? So, it gives to the Shroud runners even more value.
This list could have the name : Wind of blades
Unfortunately in the scenario your describing character models can only be allocated to under the instances of precision and not any other type of shooting so would remain damaged until another precise weapon damaged thrm
@@ProxyHammer1 ok... Nice try 😅
Love that list.
It’s absolutely beautiful 😍
would love to see a picture of this army, 27 windriders! but a pain in the ass to paint :D
I love painting Windriders! Easier than you would think!
I saw it in one of the New Zealand Facebook groups. It's a purple mass of bikes. A photo from one of the games shows a unit of Shroud Runners sitting in front of each of the Windrider packs. The Hornets were chilling at the back.
@@Wybrand418 that’s awesome!!
Man, I've been putting 2 big blocks of windriders with farseer and warlock in almost every list and they table by turn 3
They are absolutely incredible! The fact it took people this long to realize is insane
Yup, started playing these about a month back or so and was blown away with how good they are. Currently only have 6 :'( Would love to have 27 and go full meme on these as I think this might be one meme that can actually catch people off guard. Scary amount of firepower!
Love this list as well, the only thing I dislike are the spears. They try to kinda be a tougher unit, kinda shoot well, kinda charge and fight well, and then failing at all of those when compared to other options we have for a similar cost. Also a crying shame that Hornets might not make it to the codex. Technically War Walkers do pretty much the same thing but meh, I'm not huge on that model and they don't scratch that Wild Rider itch.
The thing is in this list they are absolutely not useless which is what I really enjoyed seeing
Kind of necroing this but hey, the algorithm needs feeding right?
So I’m a few iterations into a bike list and I’ve kind of settled on a list.
My only problems are it takes forever to play, and my guard mate keeps shitting on me to the point where even yriel can’t save me.

List looks awesome man!! Although truthfully I think you are going to need secondary units and would recommend in this list splitting the hawks and dropping Baharroth for some Rangers or Scorpions
You could also drop a Vyper and Baharroth for a Crimson Hunter to snipe basilisks
@@ProxyHammer1 I do agree scoring is a weakness with this list. Maybe im playing it wrong but I tend to find my self clinging to two objectives while trying to table my opponent before trying to claw my way back into the game by panic auto advancing stuff 6” to try and score.
Baharroth and the hawks are absolutely amazing, they are so slept on. That unit has hands down been the MVP in so many of my games. I’ve been low key waiting for you to do a video on it. I’m telling you, baharroth is there, waiting to take the meta by storm.
@@mattbagley2496 The unit of hawks with baharoth is great no doubt! I'm just a bit concerned you really don't have the units to score secondaries with minimal investment. I love the list though it looks like it hits as hard as a truck!
thats a lot of dakka. unfortunately i dont think the hornets will survive to the full codex.
Ya the hornets are going the way of the dodo 🦤
They will. They are still sold in the GW store.
@@thetimebinder They will probably be legends though
@@thetimebinder look at all the other codex launches, mostr forgeworld got cut.
@@warp5p1d3r6 No. There are NO Forge World units in codex at all, just like previous editions. That doesn't mean they are Legends. Custodies didn't get a bunch of FW sent to legends.
Great to see something like this do well, but I think this is very terrain dependent (I think this works on GW or PPT).
I think in UKTC or WTC this wouldn't be as viable, due to the ruins and narrow chokepoints.
I think there’s a big case to be made that windriders in general will still work in both WTC and Uktc formats and imho will probably be a required tool going forward for orks. Not sure if 27 of them will be as viable in those setups though for certain.,
Hi!! Around the 14 minute mark you mention Windriders get re-rolls to hit (from that unit being on a objevtive) and lethal hits. What inask is where do they get lethal from? Can’t find it on rules. Thanks in advance!
From the Ability of Shroud runners! They really work great together!
Thanks!! I just bought a combat patrol, 2 farseer windrunners, a unit of shining spears and another of windriders. I think this list would be awesome for what i bought. I was thinking about converting the extra windrider unit into shining spears but now that i see this i think it would be better to have a 9 windrider unit with one of the farseer models built into a warlock for the full combo. Definitely need Shroud runners and vipers now.
I was checking the datasheet and was thinking about going witchblade over singing spear. What do you think?
@@hermanj.irizarrylugo4445 Go with the singing spear! 9/10 times it’s the better pick.
Thank you for your insights! Your content just helps so much for me being a rather new player :) Just wanna know - where do I find the FAQ that states that you can reroll full hits for units on objectives not being the closest eligible target? I was trying to find it for hours now and I didnt find it yet :D
My pleasure! Always happy to help!
Look at the Necron FAQ it states it for the lochust destroyers and the Windriders ability is worded exactly the same!
thank you very much!
@@mayzkurolostark3293 of course!
I think that to run on the primaries directly is a mistake. Eldar army have enough fire power and fast move to beat heavily the opponent in turn one and two to be able to take a max of promaries in turn three, four and five.
I will play a game with a combo of 2 Fire prism, 2 war walkers, 2 units of wind riders, 2 falcons with dragons and banshees, Fuegan and a death jester.
I will be patient and let my opponent run on the primaries to strike back heavily and take the primaries on the the turn three, not before.
We will see 😉
Well yes of course! The point I was trying to make was that on turn 4-5 when your opponent is pretty much tabled they are durable enough to survive on the objective to cap primary
@@ProxyHammer1 totally agree with you. So as you said a long time ago, wind riders were clearly underestimated. 😉
First!
😉😎
@@ProxyHammer1 Just rejoined. Thought I already had!
@@nickthenoodle9206 Nice dude!! Sweet!
If bikes become common people will run indirect and eat them up.
People already have been running indirect and it’s been continuously nerfed. Reserve is very much a thing as well with how expensive artillery is also I don’t see people super teching into windriders
When facing orks, aren't scatter lasers better than shuriken canons? More attacks, more strenght, and orks have poor armor save
Unfortunately not because most ork mobs have a 5+ FnP with a pain boy so the higher damage of the cannons wins out. Also scatter lasers are S5 so wound on 4+
As Proxy said. They wound worse and struggle into fnp.
I'd add that sustained makes up for the less shots to some extent. The ap is also pretty crucial against models in cover. Orc boys saving on 4s isn't nice to try to chew through.
All of that of course not even taking into account that much better potential for shuriken cannons to punch up.
Just to give you an idea. Even against Boyz without a fnp (assuming cover and full rerolls) the Shurkin Cannon will kill an average of 1.48 boyz vs 1.33 on the Scatter Laser.
@@theStamax Oh how the mighty scatter laser has fallen
