Lyrics:
I saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand
Walking through the streets of SoHo in the rain
He was looking for the place called Lee Ho Fook's
Gonna get a big dish of beef chow mein
Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
Ah-hoo
Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
Ah-hoo
If you hear him howling around your kitchen door
You better not let him in
Little old lady got mutilated late last night
Werewolves of London again
Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
Ah-hoo
Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
Ah-hoo, hey
He's the hairy handed gent who ran amuck in Kent
Lately, he's been overheard in Mayfair
You better stay away from him
He'll rip your lungs out, Jim
Huh, I'd like to meet his tailor
Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
Ah-hoo
Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
Ah-hoo
Well, I saw Lon Chaney walking with the Queen
Doing the werewolves of London
I saw Lon Chaney, Jr. walking with the Queen, uh
Doing the werewolves of London
I saw a werewolf drinking a piña colada at Trader Vic's
And his hair was perfect
Na!
Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
Huh, draw blood
Ah-hoo, werewolves of London

Sometimes songs don’t need a deep message. Sometimes they just a vibe.
Agreed. This song always lifted people’s spirits
I thought it was about the Pakistani moving into Britain
"Sometimes?" That's like 99% of pop music. No deep message. And thank goodness. Deep messages are for essays, not pop music.

I used to play the radio at night when I was sleeping. I also taught my dog, Punkin Terrier, to sing (howl) with me to this song. Whenever it came on at night she'd wake up and lick my face until I got up and sang it with her. She loved this song! Many years after the song came out, it came on the radio when I was sleeping and she remembered it. She woke me up and it was the last time we ever sang this song together. Good old Punkin.

I've always imagined the Tailor riding in a fine horse-drawn livery in top hat with diamond rings on his fingers.🙂
‘Tailor’ is a thinly disguised reference to Zevon’s.counterpart, singer-songwriter James Taylor. Apparently.
I just saw a podcast interview with Waddy Wachtel about the song. It was a guitar riff by a guy named LeRoy Marinell who for a long time had been looking for a song for it. That's why he's co-credited as a writer on the song.
I rabbit holed into this man's career tonight. I am impressed. This guy is amazing. He's deeply hilarious and insightful. I kinda feel robbed that I didn't know how dope this guy is until I was 36 years old. Nobody told me about this

Are you for real????? I can't believe this.
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame's lame ass response to Steve Miller, spoken like true posers...
The Hall of Fame didn’t respond directly to Miller’s numerous criticisms but did issue a statement that said: “Rock ’n’ roll can ignite many opinions. It’s what makes it so great. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was honoured to induct Steve Miller.”
On his tour bus recently, Miller was in an affable mood and said he hopes some positives will come out of all the commotion he stirred up. “I want to put pressure on them to do the right thing and make it a great institution,” the guitarist said. The people who run the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation “are living in a bubble in New York City. Step outside of it, and the Rock Hall of Fame is a beacon for music education,” Miller said.
“There are people working there who do care about it, and realize it should be the centre of the universe when it comes to fighting for musicians’ rights, music education, musicians’ health care.
“But right now, it’s a private little group in New York calling all the shots, guys who consider themselves the elite, experts of what is or is not important. They’re more worried about making a TV show [of the induction ceremony] than they are of taking care of the people they induct.”

1 of my dad's all time favorites. Dad passed in 2017 due to cardic issues. Can't listen to this song without him being the 1st person that comes to mind. Love and miss you dad. Gone but never forgotten. Great song!!

A Classic Song
Warren Zevon is brilliant. Rest in Peace, Warren. You are the best and are sorely missed!
And His Hair Is Perfect 😎
one of the coolest lines in pop music. "He'll rip your lungs out Jim, but i'd like to meet his tailor.
Also "his hair was perfect" . A very cool song.
This guy is a lengend.
❤ This is our party anthem!
The start on many a weekend bender. Those were good days. 😊
Love the fact he gives props to some of the horror gods of the film industry like Lon Chaney and son. But the most signifigant aspect is the riff...damn he nailed it on this one!
The keyboard in this moves me the way some of Pete Seeger's stuff does.
