The Anarchy was a civil war in England and Normandy that started in 1135 and ended in 1153, the main reason for the conflict was that King Henry the 1st of England died without a male heir and his chosen successor his daughter Empress Matilda was unsuccessful in claiming the throne.

Just saying but I am really interested in the anarchy and the reason that I am really interested in the anarchy Is at the battle of standard there was a Scottish prince named Henry of Scotland 3rd earl of huntingdon and its through henrys son David of Scotland the 8th earl of huntingdon that we get Robert the Bruce because David had a daughter named isobel and her grandson Robert the Bruce 5th lord of Annandale had a son named Robert the Bruce 6th lord of Annandale and isobel is his great grandmother and he is the father of High king Edward Bruce of Ireland, queen isobel of Norway and his more famous son King Robert the Bruce of Scotland earl of Carrick and its through David the 8th earl of huntingdon that Robert the Bruce was able to become king of Scotland
