Thanks Nate, you make the best content with just the right spirit. From tkor to now, you're a boss. Can't wait for next iron man update and I hope you're well.
this is so cool! thanks for allowing us to tag along on your journey :D
I'm curious about how heavy the 3D printed parts are (how much filament did you use up?) since I'm also wondering how heavy the final suit would be. Hopefully you'll let us know in part 2. can't wait!
ps: hopefully you're thinking about some kind of cooling system to make wearing your suit as comfortable as possible.
Please be more selective with sponsors and don't shill for scammy games.
@@Sidecutter not everybody has the luxury of being picky with how they get paid
I feel quite sad that the king of random channel has now fallen terribly since Grant passing and Nate and Calli left. Im no longer subscribed to their channel anymore, instead now im subbed to Nate. Not only is the content far superior, but he has a hint of OG King of Random because he was with the king. Im sure as time goes on his content will with further improve on.
Who is Sally?
@@dainbramage3558 😅 I’m sorry, Calli
@@YoshaLegends ahh yes the glory from auto correct not realizing what you typed was completely correct until you see the typo. I was the same when Nate left. I didn't know that Calli did as well
@@YoshaLegends 🤣😜👍
I unsubbed a while ago but every once in a while, I check to see if anything good has been posted. For the last couple of months, TKOR views have fallen super low. Nate is very close to their current average views.
The groin guard dropping right before the end when Nate was talking was very funny
amazing job as always nate! So excited for this project!
Nate's videos are getting more views than TKOR. Awesome!
Because there is no more TKOR. :( RIP
@@awli8861 there is but no one watches it it only get 50k views on average
@@Goldenwhitewings Grant Thompson(True The King of Randomm) died.
Some years ago, I investigated 3D printing, but it was way too expensive. After watching this video I decided to check into it again and found the prices had come down to a much more reasonable level. Thanks for helping find out more about a potential hobby.
Nate I think this is the first time that I have commented on your videos being a 3D printing farm owner this caught my attention quickly.
I haven’t made any suits yet but just letting you know that this hobby is very addicting and I wish you the very best of luck with your creations it’s going on 4 years now since my first printer it’s 7 now.
Love the 3d printed content! Once I got my printer I have had a constant itch to print things. When I'm not printing, I rack my brain like a madman thinking of something useful I could print. I even learned how to use fusion360 just to design functional things to print. So many possibilities at my fingertips, it's like an addiction.
When I have "nothing to print" I go for something decorative
@@SRQmoviemaker I got my printer going right now making a funnel. They are very easy to design and customize
It's looking great so far, can't wait to see it finished. You are doing a great job 👌
Its been quite a while since I've seen an Iron Man build, looking forward to whats next!
17:31 Got so excited he popped his cod piece, lol.
Can't wait to see the final piece!
You just blew my mind. I watch Talk Nerdy to Me far more often than I'm going to admit and had no idea you were in the Iron Man suit!
This is going to be amazing! Keep up the hard work new king of random.
Wow looks sick already. Can't wait to see the end result 🤗❤❤
Wow, was just thinking about checking out your channel to see if you had any new videos up and you just posted! Awesome content, Nate!! 😎
That is a great project. So much hard work but so so so cool!
It looks sick as it is without the colour
Looking awesome man. Great job
What a throw back! The raid shadow legends ad - haven't seen that from Nate in ages.
Hey Nate, great content as always. Glad you're putting in some sponsor spots so you can make that well deserved payout for the hard work you've been putting in! Keep it up
LETS GOOOOOOO! I’ve been watching TKOR for years and it’s so cool to see you start your own channel.
I'm in the process of making my own suit. I'm using that exact file as you! You're way ahead of me. I'm struggling with the scaling of it. It looks like I need to check out Armor Smith!
It lets you scale not just the total size, but also scale on the x, y, and z axis for any given piece.
Looks like a great project! Will it be ready of Oct 31?
Looking good so far!
Ive been into 3d printing for about 2 years and i gotta say, learning to proportion props to a human body is really hard. I recommend 3d scanning yourself with an xbox kinect (or an actual 3d scanner if you are fancy like that) so you can build it around your actual body
Can't wait to see the rest of it. Next you should up your game by making the Hulk Buster suit. LOL. J/K. Maybe.
Hey nate, I've been subbed to you for a while, but this is the first video in months that has been in my recommended.
right on, looks cool so far 👊
Very cool! Awesome work
I have both the runout sensor and bed sensor added to my Ender 3V2, they're fairly easy to install. There are also dual motor kits for it, but I haven't used one of those.
Also, using a Raspberry Pi or a spare PC to connect your printer to wifi is easy and a definite quality of life improvement for 3D printing.
looks good keep it up. love the vids 10/10
Black suit Ironman is dope
Lookin awesome
I love that RAID followed you to your own channel :)
Would love to see a tutorial of how you mounted those to the backpack harness system
Nate you did an awesome job. Btw y’all nerdy to me is one of my favorite songs lol
Keep up the great work Nate. Love the content
Your channel is amazing thank you for continuing to post
Cool setup. And this printing takes up a lot of time... Let's see you dancing soon.
Love this! Much better than what was coming out at TKOR at the end.
TKOR took a big hit in quality, first when Grant decided to no longer host the videos himself at all, and then again when he died.
Now that Nate is no longer with them it has become completely unwatchable.
Two paths to armor you should consider. Look into full plate armor, how it's constructed, and how it's worn. The other is how Stormtroopers do their armor. As I understand, the armor pieces are sewn to the black spandex body stocking. Not sure how that works, but it seems to work for them. Personally, if I was making something that was supposed to look like armor, I'd go with the real world armor method as it's truly "Tired and Tested."
I'm so glad you're getting like just as many views as the TKOR channel. You're doing great .
I’m getting a 3D printer soon and I am planning on my first big project after I get the hang of it is a stormtrooper armor. I love seeing your journey so I can learn more about making armor
Looks good 😱
Ender3v2 with the auto leveler and octopi is a great budget entree printer - I have one too and it has not let me down in 2+ years.
Well done!
dang that's one of the longest integrations I've ever seen from a sponsor
That was a fast 18 minutes. I love this channel
Dang Nate be wild 😂
yoo this is just amazing
Freaking brilliant Nate, but the million dollar question is, how hard is it to go to the bathroom in your suit, looking forward to seeing you complete it 👍🏼👍🏼🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘🦘Cheers from Melbourne Australia
Nate, you are awesome dude! Cheers from your biggest fan in Colombia amigo!
I remember that mall video a few years back maybe I’ll give it a rewatch
Get it Nate!
Yeeee get it man!
This is going to be cool
Soon you'll get a metal printer, and REALLY go wild. ;)
Oh man that'd be amazing
Excellent!!
awesome!
Instead of the "morph suit", wear a plain white t-shirt and something like jogging pants. As part of the prep, wear the suit and get a helper to mark the shirt/pants if they show through the gaps. Then color those areas accordingly. That way it all matches nicely, and being two-piece it will be easier to use the bathroom on your several-hour-at-a-time walks.
I would also suggest getting some sticky-back felt and lining the inside of the suit with it, or at least around edges. That should reduce the plastic-y sound from parts rubbing.
Nate I really enjoy the videos that you have, and try to see if you can make Maple's Machine God from Bofuri.
This is Awesome I have been waiting for you to do something with a 3d printer. I wonder if you can do a video of you making your own filliment from Pop/Soda bottles and other plastic bottles
Here’s some well deserved video engagement
Huh, has raid sponsored you on this channel yet? Glad to see you getting more sponsors.
Loved the video!
Would be cool for someone that's printing a suit to actually show the orientation used for each part! Ive seen loads of printing/building an Iron man suit videos but no one actually shows you how you print it-Just here's the piece finished! Great video btw! :)
cool suit
Nice, only thing that came to mind as a hobiest printer, PLA + is not my favorite thing to sand. It can very a lot by brand but good luck! and it looks great so far.
Looks great, but PETG might have been better for thermal reasons
Your body heat + sun + whatever electronics you end up using could cause some deformation problems
I was able to warp PLA with sink hot water in a bowl, not even directly from the tap (granted it was single width extrusions for the hairy lion, but still)
No hot sunny days in this suit, it's true.
I don't remember for sure why I used PLA+ rather than PETG.
If i were you i would also look into cooling that thing looks warm
This so freaking cool :○
the dark knight and iron man merged while beaming up! You need a cape.
Nate from the internet walks round a mall in an ironman suit pt2
I'm excited to see all of your video you the best and did you scale your iron man suit
I need to see a Black Panther Iron Man suit now. I think think the suit looks dope in black
Hold on, the last armor Tony wore? I'm hyped that you're gonna develop nanotech just to cosplay as Tony.
Interesting!
Will you be sanding the parts and using some filler for a smooth surface finish?
Yes. Sooo much sanding and body filler.
the belly area should be done in multiple plates so you can bend down a bit..... you could probily do the hands all in one go cause their just collections of small parts.
Hi I’ve been subbed since like the beginning
Thats awesome brother.. 🥰🥰🥰🥰 how much PLA did u used for printing the whole suit???
Nice Ender printer! I'm rocking the Ender 3 3D Pro. High end prints on a decent priced printer is super nice.
9:55 the Z axis does not need the extra motor. The bearings on that bar should be adjustable to fix wiggle issues.
"Avengers, assemble! I've got some new Ender kits that need to be put together"
I have an older version of the same printer. It is the one I learned everything on.
you should team up with the hacksmith for this, damn its amazing
W Nate
Next Halloween you should make your D&d character.
I actually bought that first Ender printer like three years ago..I ended up having to return it because as soon as I booted it up, the nozzle decided it would be cool to ram itself into the printing bed, breaking the motors, the nozzle, and cut the bed in half lmao
You know you’ve made it far when you’re sponsored
PLA bends/deforms at 50°-60° degrees centigrade.
It's not so good if you take it with you in the car on a hot summer day....
PETG is just as easy as PLA to print. You need higher temerature on your hot end, another buildplate and a hot buildplate.
Other than that, it looks very good. :)
Right now, as the suit is all black it looks more like a Black Noir suit than an Iron Man one LOL
Congrats on the Raid: Shadow Legends sponsorship Nate. I hope that you got at least $15,000 for it, because if you got any less, they ripped you off. It's just good to know what other CZcamsrs are making for their ad spots.
Just for future reference, Nate. ABS is actually more impact resistant and less fragile than PLA.
PLA tends to absorb moisture over time from the air which actually furthers makes even more brittle, taking on a characteristic similar to dry rot in rubbers.
ABS, or even better PETG would be a much more suitable choice for a print like this that actually has some function.
PLA is more suited for models and other things that just sit on the shelf, or for resin pouring.
I don't remember all my reasons why, but I think I used PLA because it's the easiest in terms of use? Like it's the most reliable and the least fumes you need to worry about? I don't remember for sure!
@@NFTI Yes and no. PETG and PLA are more or less non-toxic in their usage, giving off extremely little to no fumes, though you can still smell PLA a little. PETG is FDA approved to be food safe, while ABS on the other hand is fairly toxic and should be printed both in a well ventilated area, as well as with an insulated shroud around the printer itself to help keep the inside warm enough to reduce or even eliminate delamination.
If you're unsure as to how tough ABS is, legos are made with ABS plastic, though it is injection molded rather than printed which is a solid difference. On the other hand, there are finishing techniques that can be used to help seal ABS printed parts and give them a smooth and shiny finish without the need to sand them. ABS also tends to have a bit more flex to it before breaking, making it far more durable for moving parts, especially with parts containing other metal parts that have been pressure fitted into them, whereas PLA tends to stress and crack over time.
If you're committed to the PLA route, I would absolutely suggest doing some research on PLA annealing, as it makes a world of difference in part durability, though it does come with some risks, since it is a low temperature filament.
In summary, PLA is great for beginners who are just dipping their toes into 3d printing, but it's also a great idea to learn the different filament types and material usages before rushing into a big project like this before something goes wrong and you have to scrap the whole thing.
Believe me, I'm speaking from experience.
If you have any more questions about 3d printing or need any tips, you can message me here: facebook.com/derek.obrien.754/
If you're not comfortable with that, I would highly recommend TeachingTech here on youtube instead. That man is a veritable genius when it comes to materials and unbiased reviews, and makes it his business to deliver accurate and untainted information about 3d printing and upgrades, as well as offering his own tricks to dealing with common and uncommon printer problems.
Thanks for replying, by the way. That really made my day :)
One question with your body suit does it have a toilet "trapdoor"? Just don't want you to have everything finally done and your out somewhere, need a bathroom break and find out you have to take everything off including the body suit. Looks cool so far Nate 😀
Nice
climbing back up from nothing, IN STYLE!
I want to see something to make the NFA concerned
Man I gotta get a 3d printer lol. I suck at making things though 😞 I have so many ideas but when it comes to implementing them I freeze or don't have any idea how to start
Nate videos always have that tkor feel since many of tkors popular videos are his original ideas.
Hey Nate
The iron man breast plate printed in one piece? How does it fit on your 3d printer? Thanks
After seeing the black Iron Man suit the first thing I thought of was RoboCop 4 when he got the black suit I think that would look pretty cool too but I don't know if everybody likes RoboCop like I do and I do love all the Iron Man movies
