- Hey guys, sorry it has been long since I last posted a video, but I wanted to share this moment as well. I decided to take down the MICROLOCS and just as I shared the journey when I started them, I wanted you to also see when I combed them out so that you will always know, whenever you are ready, you can do it too! I hope you enjoyed my journey just as much as I did.
Quick suggestion for anyone who wants to take down their locks. Get the *Taliah Waajid Bodifier spray* and apply it excessively over the hair, let it set for about 10 then start to detangle. Makes your hair super soft and poofy, gives alot of slippage and helps detangle like a dream! Trust me its good! You will thank me later lol....
Thank you sooooo much
Taliah’s products are great for detangling!
Soooo true .
Thanks
Commenting to remember if I ever need
I have micro locs(360) and I love them...im 7 months in. You have a lot of patience. If I ever decide to get rid of mine, I would just cut them off and rock a short cut.
Lol I considered that at some point, but I couldn't see myself starting my natural hair journey from scratch again 😂.
Yea I have around 430 and I would just cut my hair. I already did the comb out with a previous set of locs and it was a waste of time bc my hair got soo damaged in the take down
@@luckygirl20000 I'm thinking of doing microlocs to retain length. What ate your thoughts and advise on this? I have low density, fine strands.
How much length did you retain from during this journey?
@@christine1962ful I wouldn't advise starting microlocs as a way to retain length if you are gonna take them out, unless you have no intention of combing them out, then it is a good way to retain length. I lost atleast 5 inches of hair when I took mine out as a result of split ends and single strand knots in the ends of my hair.
I admire you. You did microlocs your way. You’re not afraid to learn, change your mind. I appreciate your willingness to show the process and help us out. I’m gonna do it, one day.
Every time someone takes down their locs I’m reminded of why I love mine. Also if you do decide to loc your hair again make sure to wear a satin cap all of the time. Sleeping, cleaning, just around the house. It helps control lint. Especially wear it when getting dress so lint doesn’t pull into the hair.
I know better now, I definitely will 🙂💕.
My huge tip is to buy a 100% boar brush (I have a Denman) and brush from 3infrom the roots down to the tips. We have two dogs and this is an absolute MUST for me. The amount of fur and lint that gets removed is CRAZY! I bought a claw brush cleaner to help remove all the fuzz from my brush. 4 years in and my locs are shiny and no issues with lint/build up. I have a satin pillow case, but don't bother with a satin cap. I would love to find a satin ponytail sheath to wear if I could find one.
Every loc video I watch makes me hesitant of locking my hair and now take downs are on my feed daily.
What’s lint, please?
@@DamiAdejoro
It is dust particles from environment or clothes. Locs can pick up dust easily if not maintained with info.
Yes, it is worth it to take it down and save it!! Beautiful job!! From starting the 1000 locs to taking them down, you have shown great patience and attention to detail. Beautiful locs and beautiful hair.
Thank you so much 🤗
Trying to figure out why combining was not an option.
you’re the queen of patience lol! you look beautiful, hope you enjoy the new (or old) hair! 💕
Thank you!!☺️💕
I cut my traditional locs after 7 years yrs and my Sisterlocks at just under 4 years. I loved my locked hair, but I also love how I look with almost no hair, so cutting is no problem for me. Last month my stylist started my third set of locs with comb coils, but I have to be able to wash my hair as needed because I have been racing virtually since May ‘20. Therefore, we’ll be switching to interlocking the first week in Oct. I am 68 now, so I hope to keep this set. I interlocked the first set for the same reason.
Wow, really? That's admirable.
I believe hair has memory and feels. I did not realize that until I got my locks. My hair flourished AFTER I got my locks. Because locks are natural to us...therefore my hair recognized the style and abounded and blossomed; also we need to take vitamins for the hair as there are foods and medications out there which their expressed purpose is to make our hair of inferior quality. Nice video. Thanks!
What Vitamins and supplements?
It's amazing that you were able to get the locs out. Your hair is beautiful...❤️
Your hair is gorgeous. It was totally worth it combing out your locs. I look forward to combing out my locs on my tenth year anniversary. I’m excited!…
a few years ago I came across one of your videos you made me want to do micro locks and then I lost sight of your videos and mtn I finally find you and surprise you undo your locks well.
Oh sis you took me back to before I got my sisterlocks. The dreaded breaking combs! I was crying I was laughing so hard! Good thick hair you got there! Love it 🥰
Lol Yes that part 😂! I certainly didn't miss the breaking combs.
Thanks for sharing this. You embody the words Patience and Dedication.
Thanks so much for your generosity in sharing your knowledge!
I'm one that will do the same and take my time to comb out each loc lol I was watching you since the beginning and maintaining over 1000 locs is a lot of work. I would recommend if you do it again aim for 500 or less so you are able to maintain them on your own. I started my loc journey 9 months ago and I wish I could say its easy but self-reties are a killer lol. I have around 600 but the back came out and I'm doing them much larger to cut on retie time. If I did them again I would aim for 400-450 locs but I still love them and have no immediate plans to remove them! Thanks for sharing your journey!!!!!
Great video! Thank you for sharing. I'm microlocing my hair now for the past 5 days or so and I'm comfortable doing it because I know that if I decide to reverse it, I can. I don't know how I will feel about not being a loose natural once I've been loc'ed up for a while. So, it's nice to have that option however tedious. I guess the shedding comes with the territory but, I'd still be upset to see all of that hair coming out of my locs. And I think I would have to go and let someone else do a ton of moisturizing and strength building treatments to it for a good while before I would even comb it much. Maybe I'd just wear it in thick twists for some weeks with very little manipulation.
You did a brilliant job undoing it all, after a day I would of just big chopped!! Lint is a issue with my locs too.
Thanks ☺️ it helps taking your time to do it slowly when you feel like.
@@luckygirl20000 I don't plan on doing so, Im happy with them, I'm semi freeform but wanted to see the process :-)
Noooo loved them but happy you ended up doing what you wanted. You inspired me to finally get mine. I got my first Interloc on my new growth yesterday and so far I convinced 3 people to join the journey too
Even-though I took mine out, I'd definitely recommend anyone to get them, the locs are worth it!
I love your hair either way❤️ thanks for sharing! I have 379 micro locs 3 months in
It was grueling combing my traditional locs out several years ago locked 4 years now I have interlocks love them!!! 💕💕💕
Why did you switch ?
Man they were so beautiful. I currently have medium size locs and wish I had sister locs.
Last year I started and combed out my locs. I had 77 and it took me 4 days. Then after about a week I ended up cutting all of my loose natural hair off 😂 You have so much patience because I’m cutting my next set off if I ever
Lol yeah😂, I think sometimes cutting it is good, It gives you a fresh start.
Omg what a journey. You have so much patience 😲😲
ive been wearing yarn braids for the past three years without any breaks. i redo every braid about 195 last count every 2/3 wks i examine every braid for breakage and spilt ends my hair has grown alot and but ive been toying with the idea of doing microlocs or dreadlocs im taking my time in deciding on what to do the thought of taking out my braids gives me panic attacks and so much anxiety ive passed out and them when i watch the micro locs take down it creates even more doubt. if i never took my yarn braids out for the rest of life id be happy women . do anyone else feel like that about thier hair or am i just crazy. i wonder if ill love dreadlocs or micro locs as much as i do my yarns braids. im so confused. your hair is gorgeous and you did a wonder job.
AHHHH I COULDNT 😫😫 I have locs, but I wouldn’t be able to commit to micro locs. So much patience, girl.
Wow, you had patience as your locs were tiny and your hair is super long! I'm crying just thinking about the prospect of undoing and restarting my locs after just 4 months! I have about 250. I'm dreading it but needs must.
I would have never took them out they where beautiful. Now every day you get up it's time spent in the mirror doing your hair. I wish you the best your beautiful no matter what you do to your hair it's the beauty inside you .thanks for sharing your journey my Queen
I have approximately 200 microlocs. If I ever decide to take them out, I will definitely cut them off! I don't have the patience to take them down.
Same. Well actually, I did last month. I might loc them again in the distant future.
If I end my loc journey, I'll definitely cut it all off lol, and I don't have nearly a thousand locs. But I have had them for a lot longer. I can't imagine detangling mature locs.
Wow... you combed out your locs. Beautiful hair.
Thanks ☺️
I'm almost 1yr into my microlocs journey. I think if I decided to end my journey I would cut my locs but it depends on where I'm at in my journey. Loved your locs but glad to made a decision best for you and your journey!
I combed Mines out too a week ago and started near when You started lol! But I want My locs back now!
I did a combo: cut half my loc length and then combed it out. It cut down in the take down process significantly.
I have somewhere around a thousand locs. I wouldn’t dare try to count them. I’m 14 months in on my Microloc journey and I’ve just decided today to grow my hair out enough to cut it into a TWA. I seriously miss my Afro and the versatility from having loose natural hair!
Hi! You did a great job! What kind of needle did you use and where did you get it? I want to comb out the ends of my locs.
I love how every video on your channel is about you doing something new and daring🫡… you are really really patient and talented, thanks for sharing
Your hair is beautiful either way 😍
Thank you ☺️
They looked great. I wish I had so many sigh.... Best wishes
I know this video is old, but did you ever use your shed hair to make homemade hair extensions? I’ve never heard of that before, but if you were actually able to do it- WOW!
Your locs were gorgeous!! What made you decide to take out?
You were my loc goal 😭😭😭 I been showing stylist your hair.
Lol thanks ☺️💕, I will definitely get locs again in the near future.
The patience you have, ma'am 😭
I admire your patience!
Thank you 💕
My ends kept looking raggedy too when I combed locs out kept cutting and cutting til I had pixie cut and mine was as long as yours
Thank you for explaining what happened! Did the length of reties contribute to why you got rid of them? I'm currently installing very small microlocs and it's a concern for me.
Yes that definitely contributed.
As someone who used to have between 900 and 1000 locs on a similar length, i can tell you thats it's a real pain, it took me 2 weeks, a least 8 hours a every day, so i decided to combine them all and now have about 300 locs. Nowadays i'm still reducing the number.
If you have a lot of hair, a good density and thickstrands, don't even worry with installing a crazy number of locs, even with less then 250 locs you'll have a voluminous hair
I did that 10 years ago and here I am locked again. Wow
Beautiful full hair
Many people think that when someone takes down locs they've had for a long time and lose a lot of hair, it's because the hair was all shed hair making the hair look longer than it was. But I think the process of taking them down causes a lot of damage and breakage. Women with long locs they've had for a long time do have a lot of really long hair that's attached to their head, but they lose it during take down. What do you think?
Depends on how gentle you are with the comb out. But shedding hair is normal
That's definitely true! I did loose some of my hair and I got some breakage along with that, the whole process was traumatic for my hair.
Wow to your patience. I will just shave it off
Hello. I have a question. Love your content by the way. I dont want micro locs but i want micro twist. Do you know how long i can keep my twists in before they start to loc up? What is the maintenance? Thank you!!😀
Sure, I have made a video about that, check it out czcams.com/video/K1UFVIvZ4HA/video.html
You have such a beautiful hair
This was amazing😱😱 i will also try this😊😊
😊 I love how you speak! Anyways...I probably would comb mine out if I ever took them out! But, I don't think I ever will. I would also never do 1000 microlocs...524 is quite enough for me! I just cant see maintaining loose natural hair everyday! 😰😨😳
That's true, I struggled with loose natural hair in the first few weeks after combing out the locs. It reminded me how much privilege I had with locs, life was easier😂.
@@luckygirl20000 Lmbo! Yeah... Let us know when/if you come back to the loc'd side!
If you decide to get them again in the future, I would refrain from using any products other than shampoo in your hair. This will keep the lint out of your hair
You are beautiful!!☮️💕
I know I’m late pls tell me how long it took in have sister locs and I really wanna take them out
Lol I ain’t taking mine out anytime soon but will you ever go back to locs? Or nah
I don’t know if you ever told us why you felt like you had to take them down besides the lint. Do you think 1000 was too much to maintain? It looks like you lost a lot of hair, do you think it was worth it to take it down?
Yeah, we would want to know.
I combed out my locs with a special tool and retained sooo much of my hair 😅
I combed mine out back in March by using a tac. My hair is shedding still and I’ve been trimming a lot. Considering starting again, but not micros.
You probably need to restore your protein moisture balance. Also if you aren't already take a daily multivitamin preferably one with biotin in it. This will provide the additional nutrition your hair needs.. if you still have a lot of shedding you may want to visit your doctor. You may be anemic
Oh my God! Your lock takedown hurt my heart! Is that why you have been absent from youtube? You were my go to lock advice channel
I’ve already decided I’m just gonna cut it when I’m done with my locs. Not because I don’t wanna do the work or have the patience to comb them out, but because I don’t wanna be a loose natural again. I’d rather have no hair than do that lol
I mean I got patience with my hair but not this much patience lol Id be bald !
A crochet hook would of done absolute wonders for you 😊
Why? They were beautiful 🤩
i just watched your video on how yk put them in😭
I would have done the big chop. It grows back faster anyways...
What kind of locs do you suggest for extremely thick hair?
Traditional locs look so good on thick hair 💕
Was it interlock
Should definitely change your name to crazy girl lol. I admire your patience and perseverance 😭
Beautiful
Was definitely fuller before your locs… I broke plenty of combs lol
Wow, if I lost that much hair in a year, I would be bald. Apparently, you have very thick hair😮.
I’m in the process of coming out micro Locs. I hasn’t even been 6 months. I’ll never want Locs again. Im over it.
Cool
Good job. Knowing me and my thin patience, I would have grabbed those scissors.
Lovely hair though.
Thank you! 😊
Still watching video..just wanted to comment on how much I really like your nails ..
Oh thank you! ☺️
I'm taking mines down after two months.
Why did you remove them 🙆♀️🙆♀️
I have been following you
A lot of reasons came into play but mostly I missed the versatility of loose natural hair.
Nice
I would cut mine cause I recently combed one out after accidentally knotting the root while retieing.. it was no hair left. I had to take the hair and make a loc out of it and reattach 😆
Same here , mine even left a bald spot . I'm like hell no . 1) I've resorted to doing my own hair because my hair dressers were not kind to my scalp 2) I don't retie to the scalp on edges of my head anymore
are you going to sell your loc extension you make? lmk
Lol 😂, No, I guess I will use them myself, I doubt that I will get more than one bundle.
You never mentioned why you took them down???
I think I will do a video to explain why soon.
Wow
That's why I can't get locs , can't stand dirty hair or any type of lint stuck in my hair.
Are you happy with the final results?
Yes I am happy with it, although one of these days I might get locs again ☺️.
MY GOODNESS.
When God made you, He poured a whole ocean's worth of patience into you.
No I just regrew mine out again
The hair on your nape is gone so why bother combining them out? Why not just cut them out?
I've had mine for about a year and want to take mine down too, but I don't know what I'd do with my hair while I'm in the process of removing them. I think I might just end up cutting them off.
Are you bored with them or are they just too much for you to maintain?
@@shamere1993 a bit of both. I miss being able to smooth my hair or to wear big curls. I love the convenience of the locs but they're also a lot of work.
@@WhyBEfrEE that's interesting, what interlocking rotation do you use? I'm wondering if that affects the ability to be able to smooth the hair in that style. Have you ever tried flexi rods or a curling rod for big curls? I saw a girl yesterday who has very beautiful sisterlocks that she used a curling iron on and they came out very beautiful. I have also tried flexi rods on my hair for the big curls and it was very beautiful as well.
@@shamere1993 I do a 4 point rotation, 9,6,3,12, but tbh, I made a lot of mistakes in the beginning and tried different options. I think I might have liked them better if they were interlocked from end to roots because I started with braids and have a lot of bunching in some places. Around the perimeter of my hair is almost completely locked, but the braids are still very visible in the middle. I probably need to be patient, but I'm getting tired. Those are some good suggestions though. Maybe I'll try to do some rod curls at some point and switch things up. Might also colour the ends to see if that makes me like it more, before I decide to big chop.
@@WhyBEfrEE Awww that makes me a bit worried because I'm starting mine with braids too. My texture does better with the braids and I also wanted to do the 4 pt rotation so that is not overwhelmingly thick and poofy. Idk I guess we have to try many things before we know what works best. Below is the link to the video of the lady who curled hers with a curling iron.
czcams.com/video/FqRlz5gMxnU/video.html
Maybe your hair wasn’t getting proper moisture while locked
Admire you but I Do NOT have this patience
You shouldn't ask your viewers to give their opinions, bc you get offended when we don't say what you want to hear.
Microlocs sound good for less work. When i learned you guys have to go and take each strand and tie it under every two months? No thank you. Its just as much time as dealing with natural hair.
You lost ALOT of hair or one year. Just seems slot. 🤷🏽♀️😌
There's something slightly twilight zone about this woman 🤔.
I saw this coming! What a waste of time considering that you had good hair
She owned each step in Her own happiness Narrative regarding Her own space why subtract/divide/ Her ability to navigate peace as She chooses?
nah, not worth all the time invested.. your hair was weaker, didnt grow much and had damaged ends that you had to cut. i dont see the benefits🤔 ijs💁🏽♀️
Of course her ends looked like that she wasn’t getting it trimmed, so what if you think her hair didn’t grow much, it still did. You salty for no reason
@@BeTrue05 I said what I said...
*What is the Gospel?*
The true gospel is the good news that God saves sinners. Man is by nature sinful and separated from God with no hope of remedying that situation. But God, by His power, provided the means of man’s redemption in the death, burial, and resurrection of the Savior, Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 2:8-9
For it is by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of GOD, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Romans 10:9
9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
JESUS CHRIST can come anytime!
