@@nave8347 nah, I honestly think it’s better this way. It honestly doesn’t make sense why Barry needs to always push himself to go top speed. In my eyes, either he’s got it or he doesn’t. I think it’s more interesting to give him op speed right out the bat and see him learn how to control it. Throughout the movie you can see him fumbling, so he isn’t quite in control. However, he already knows not to go past the speed of light because it messes with time. Seeing him figure out his powers and struggle with them is more interesting then him always having to go faster in order to beat the opponent. (I’m look it at you CW flash)

Gary the parademon deserved a raise for hitting a speedster who was running at the speed of light
I'm down for the idea that Barry was running so fast that he was bound to get hit because he was basically at every place in that lap at once.

Pretty much impossible to miss as long as he was aiming in his path. Think of it like throwing a rock at a helicopter rotor. You're extremely likely to hit it as long as you go in the rotor's path.

The reason this flash runs like that is because he is running like a speed skater. They flail their arms and torso forward like that to gain momentum therefore going faster. Also Barry hints why he runs like this when Batman confronts him and says he does extreme ice skating.

To be honest I don't understand how someone is faster than the speed of light,the speed of light is a speed where time itself doesn't move which means his speed would be instantaneous and he could run forever until he gets tired and goes slower than the speed of light then time would resume as normal,then again it's a movie and TV show so making a limit like the speed of light being max speed would be poo
@@deadopsgx8578 there is a theory that if you somehow went faster than the speed of light you would start to reverse time. The faster you went the faster things would reset. That explains why he reversed time when he runs faster than the speed of light. This will never be confirmed however, since scientists think that the speed of light is the fastest something can go. Hopefully this helped somehow

@@thenord3285 thats because the faster you move through space, the slower you move through time. At the speed of light, linear time stops and if we continue in that pattern, time would start to reverse. But since all math breaks down at the speed of light, we cant predict anything
As others have said, I've heard Ezra based his running on the way professional ice skaters move to generate speed and kinetic energy. While it does look sort of goofy, I kinda love his style. It's interesting to watch, unique to his version of the Flash, and makes it clear the way he moves is different from just running really fast. He's literally bending space and time to move at those speeds.
@Leotis Bennett He uses his arms to generate more kinetic energy, like most people do when they run, but in a more streamlined way. Its obviously a stylistic choice at the end of the day.

@@bru5142 Because the times he's done that, he noticed that "crazy things happen to time" (he briefly explains it during the Superman revival scene). I guess it's just scary for him because it's something uncommon and weird.
However, remember that reversing time can also f*ck up the timeline, as seen in the "Flashpoint" comic. Maybe they'll explore the effects of running far beyond the speed of light in The Flash movie.
Just a minor correction: Barry doesn’t “slow down time”, he actually alters his perception of time so that everything looks slow from his perspective.

Dude fax like the atrocity that was the 2017 justice league made me hate Ezra miller’s flash but the Snyder cut gives me such respect for him and I’m definitely going to give him a chance to do good because I believe if they do restore the Snyderverse dc may be on par if not better than marvel in the near future

Makes sense. The watch at .25 speed guy pointed out that when flash saves iris, he skids to a stop, sliding on the street like slippery ice. I don’t mind it, it’s a nice aesthetic change from literally every speedster incarnation since smallville.
@@Absurdword it makes sense he would skid, iirc the speedforce is supposed to form a protective field around speedsters that negates the effects of friction, right? Since otherwise, they would burn up as they superheat the air around them with every little movement

Ezra Miller took inspiration from how the fastest man on the planet moves and implemented that into his character which is amazing

I really liked the idea that as he got closer to light speed Barry was clearly feeling the strain, but not because he couldn’t move that fast; but because he couldn’t stay on the threshold of ligh speed forever without going over it or stopping. It’s like jumping and then being told to get very close to landing but not land all the way.

You can actually figure out how fast he’s running if you look at how fast things are reversing as he’s going back. There was a study that shows if you travel thousands of times faster than the speed of light, the time dilation becomes a negative. Your time is positive, while everything around you would be a negative. Essentially time traveling back in time. So if you look at exactly how fast things are reversing you can actually tell how fast he’s going. I haven’t done the calculations, but if you want to you can :).
Also the info for the negative time dilation value was provided by studies at Michigan Technological University

I think I heard something about the way the Flash runs is similar to an ice skater's motions, which kinda makes a little sense. Running that fast probably changes a few things. Like, perhaps friction isn't all that powerful against him. When he's running to save Iris, he slides on the concrete that would normally stop him. He probably slides a lot when he's running.

It's a style Snyder and Ezra Miller decided on. He hinted at his running style with that competitive ice dancing joke he made. He runs like he's ice skating.

So Barry's maintained top "safe" speed is like Mach 49, but his limit breaking speed is faster than light
Pretty crazy jump in speed, we could also assume he can only maintain the above light for less than a second
He didnt really look strained while doing it, one might think he limits himself because he cant control how it affects time yet.

Barry's speed pushes way past beyond the speed of light breaking the laws of physics and the space time continuum. His speed is literally infinite and the fabric of the multiverse alone is held together by the Speed Force that he himself created just by moving. You can't measure it.

It's great how Barry is very light and cautious while touching Iris during her crash as touching her at his speed could do anything from heavy bruising to shattering bones and liquifying her flesh.

His running is said to be more scientifically accurate for someone moving that fast. They researched it. At such high speeds, the air almost becomes like water and he's running as if swimming through it.
