I'm now 75 years old, I was a weed smoker in the 60s but gave it up mid 70s. Today I have already had 6 back surgeries starting in 1970 to last year. The Last surgery did not help, it created other problems. I also have COPD so can't smoke at all. I tried taking some very good bud and filled some 20 mg caps to ingest the weed. No, it doesn't get me high but it does help me with the old folks sleeping problems. I no longer wake up every couple hours and that get up to go pee at 3 or 4am no longer happens. I ran out or the bigger caps and gave the 10 mg caps a try. It still works, just not as well! I wake up pain free and can get around a lot better. I just started to grow my own again. SSI does not pay well enough to buy mother nature from a clinic! I never dreamed I would be growing weed again. I just wish the pain would go completely away. Maybe I'll grow my hair long again and start wearing a robe??😅
😂😂😂
I also have chronic back pain. I gave cbd a try, but it didn't help. I might try cbd with thc
🌹. I solved that problem… By taking or using different forms… No buds! No flower...But… Edibles, you can get many products that are edibles… That work extremely well… I do not smoke the buds because it burns my throat! Edibles are great takes a bit longer to kick in but… It also lasts longer...☺️😉🌿🕊️🙏🏽👍🏽🪴
I use pot to sleep, I deal with chronic pain during the day with Tylenol and methocarbamol which does help some. I either mix some powdered buds into my sleepy time tea or take a few puffs then go to bed and sleep from approx. 9-5 am which is what I'm used to. I was getting maybe 2.5 to 3 hours of sleep per night and the doctors refused to help me with a sleep aid. People will find relief from misery one way or another.

Hi dr thanks for information. Can I use it for painful buttocks ?
Wow, sounds like what I go through. I am so glad there is some relief out there for us. I also use methocarbamol and I am on gabapentin, an anti depressant and vitamin D3. The Dr. I have doesn’t know much about fibro and doesn’t understand the pain that is involved with it. Therefore, I chose to use pain relief that God put on the earth.
Mark do smoke thc cannabis or cbd with low percent of thc?
You live my nightmare I'm in pain all the time osteoarthritis fibromyalgia
Multiple car accidents
very good information... thank you
I have fibromyalgia and have just started using this. I usually make gummies but it takes about 1-3/4 hours to take effect. I have depression, anxiety disorder and chronic fatigue. Cannabis has definitely helped with all of these conditions. I have to wait until my workday is done before I use any and I refuse to drive my car after treatment.

Do you make gummys with cannabis.
Hi could you please let me know what strain of cannabis do you use for Anxiety as I suffer bad with Anxiety
@@suebrookes7136 Hi as nobody got back to you, I felt the need to let you know that I only get gummy from a dispensary who I check out before I even visit their shop. So, Sue what I would do is look up the dispenser in your state (if it's legal to buy) and go from there, they have so much knowledge about their products. It helped me with anxiety, sleep problems, depression and made me feel so much healthier. Good luck, Sue!

Cannabinoids are a group of compounds found in the cannabis plant, including THC and CBD. These compounds have potential therapeutic properties and may be useful in treating various conditions, including chronic pain, anxiety, and epilepsy.
That was the best explanation I have heard About cannabis but I still don’t know what or how to purchase CBD broad-spectrum for my sciatica and stenosis pain. I don’t think a cream would work because where would I put it if someone could help me I would be so appreciative.
What you advice for small fiber neruropathy ( all my body )😢

I have neruropaty and Myropaty and been on opioids for 20+ years. Now i know my Fentanyl patches and palexia is causing issues for my healt and i want to wean off opioids using cannabis to controle my pain and im wondering if CBD oil with THC culd be a good option?Or is there better ways to do this?
Hi, I'm finding your videos very informative and useful. It is very challenging to find the right help for neuropathic pain as most physicians don't know what it is or how to navigate the condition. I am wondering about your thoughts on topical CBD cream and if you would consider doing a video on this subject?
I recently tried a cbd cream my brother got for me, I was hesitant because I have tried some and they were no help. I have been having terrible trouble with my hands after getting the covid flue shot. Dr says it may have triggered Lupus so we are looking into that. Anyway, This brand has been an amazing bit of help. It is called Bunni Butters. I have several containers so I have not looked yet on line. Maybe you can find it. I actually was able to make a fist this morning.
just need to find the right plant the right strain, just try it out, can't die from it ! can only help
I am in a legal medical mj program in Connecticut. The dispensary pharmacist recommended Theraplants 360X Hybrid (THC dominant) syringe oil. I squeeze a “rice grain” dose into capsules they supply for arachnoiditis nerve damage post spinal fusion. They cut my spinal cord when opening me from the front of my abdomen. I have left drop foot and I ended up with “bee sting” sensation from nerve roots attached onto arachnoid membrane. The oil wiped out the stinging. Gabapentin only filled it and the side effects were awful.
5 years now I use Theraplants 360X. It comes in THC, CBD, or a 1:1 combo. It’s the bullet for my weird nerve sensations.

I took CBD for many months at high doses and it did nothing for my MS spasticity. When I transitioned to THC/CBD, that actually works. I take 1/2 gummie (5mg) in the early evening in florida, getting relief, although not total relief. Helps get me through the night. If I take more than that I get dizzy/sick.
WHAT ABOUT ZOLOFT AND LYRICA FOR PERIFERAL NEUROPATHY AND ARTHRITIS ? Would love to get info on both together. Thanks for your wonderful videos. So helpful especially during this PANDEMIC. Merry Christmas from MONTREAL!
Thank you for your comment. That is a good question/suggestion for a future video.
Stay away from big pharma. A lot of these medications are risky and often do more harm than good.
"Awesome" Dr. Furlan. Good job.
The present hot research topic z "THC" and " CBD".
Both THC and CBD have same chemical formula but different arrangement of the structure --- so one of the causes of the difference in their properties.
THC makes you high ...bcoz of its euphoric nature , I think it works on the receptors in the brain.
CBD --- does not make u high .
Thank u Dr. Furlan 👏👏👏
Glad you like it. I have "Super Thanks" enabled in all of my videos now.

I enjoy your videos. Thank you. You mentioned naltrexone in one of your videos. That is a very old and cheap med that was historically used to help drug addicts break their habit. It was also used to treat pain. What can you tell us about that medicine?
Low dose naltrexone is usually around 4.5mg dose. RX will start at 2.2mg then increase to 4.5. Only side effect is odd dreams at first, hence why you start out low dose. In US, a compound pharmacy can make low dose. I started using LDN for cov vax autoimmune phenomenon that caused major joint and muscle pain. I also take tablet 2.5thc/2.5cbd.
Thank you, Dr. Furlan! Why do you recommend your patients ingest the oils instead of smoking? Are there additional benefits to ingestion? Is it to minimize the risks that come with inhaling smoke?
Hi Sandhya, smoking cannabis is really bad for the lungs. The smoke carries all the harms that could cause asthma, COPD and lung cancer.

I've never smoked anything in my life, I'm over sixty years old, an anti-inflammatory diet, alkaline including alkalinizing water (PH9) and, in fact, I don't get sick of anything, nor do I have other pathologies...
Unfortunately, in 3 out of 5 surgeries I had two witch led me to suffer nerve damage and these pains are the biggest challenge I've ever had in my life.....
Your videos have given me a lot of hope, security, because the information is very good....

I have full tear rotator cuffs both shoulders.
I have now sought out pain relief for my shoulders that ache to the point I need something. My hip surgeon and shoulder Dr said to me marijuana ,I repeated it back to him in disbelief , he then said CBD oil.
So I went into the first dispensing store and stated I wanted CBD oil and something that would be a pain reliever and not get me high. They recommended Fairwinds CBD oil Ratio tincture CBD 5:1THC the rep said that without the small amount of THC customers said it didn’t work. So I went with that. I found that it works well realize the pain is gone within a half hour , but may need something with a bit more relief. I think you have to try different ones.
I’m looking into edibles mainly a THC product with CBD in some that I would treat very conservative personally. A friend said that his mom just takes a little bite of one for pain. They do take longer to kick in due to going through the digestive system so people can take too much thinking they needed the whole edible which they did not. It’s trial with each thing. I want to take little bites ongoing if I continue getting edibles.
With research online I found that with edibles there different types of THC products 1. Sativa-contains both THC and CBD known for a high that is energetic and creative.2.indica THC and CBD known for sedating effects. 3.Hybrids- edibles that include sativa and indica contains both CBD and THC.3. CBC only the component of Marijuana that can relieve pain or anxiety without providing the physchoactive high associated with THC
I will try the hybrid that sounds best gummy and do small bites.Dr’s won’t issue pain meds even if you have full tear rotator cuffs, or shall I say reluctant to prescribe. So CBD is the answer but also trying THC edibles.
Love your videos. What about using CBD for bursitis or frozen shoulder
We need more research of CBD for any kind of pain. So far, there is not much.

Hi, the inhaled CBD really works wonders for my anxiety, and focus, but I read that it may be bad for the lungs. The ingested one is about 1/2 as effective, and it seems like it takes a long time for it to go through the system. I am in between a food grade alcohol extraction, and an mct oil mixture, or just taking the distillate pure sublingually. (I use full spectrum .03 per or less Th)
Currently, some places are working with nano particles for a water soluble version, but it is probably not possible to make it at home, because of the expensive equiptment needed to make it. Also, it is too expensive to purchase pre-made.

Make sure you aren't smoking saliva, it can cause anxiety, stick to Indica
It's the strain that you need to refine. Plenty of sativas can give an anxiety free lift, and plenty of indicas can give you a jittery down. CBD or THC for Tooth Pain? Which is better?
I am not advocating smoking cannabis but I really do believe the statement that smoking cannabis has the same risks as smoking tobacco is completely unsubstantiated. Tobacco has over 4,000 carcinogenic compounds. I don’t believe any carcinogenic compounds have ever been identified in the cannabis plant. Nor have other diseases like emphysema, heart disease, etc. that are often a direct result of smoking tobacco ever been identified with smoking cannabis. I have no doubt that inhaling smoke from a burning substance on a consistent basis is probably not a great thing to do especially if one already suffers from a respiratory disease. But to state smoking cannabis has the same adverse health effects as smoking tobacco is truly wildly inaccurate and misleading.

Dr. I very much appreciate the fact that you are personally willing to put your face out there, and acknowledge the benefits of cannabis. From ONLY my own personal experience, I would say that you are in fact correct that THC is addictive, but that's only a very small part of the real story. While THC may be addictive in my personal case, I would NEVER in a million years, buy a cannabis product, solely based on it's THC content. Morphine is also natural, it is found in poppy plants.
