- This is my reaction/review for the second single taken off of the upcoming Phinehas album 'The Fire Itself' which will drop on August 27th through Solid State Records. I swear this song has everything that makes metalcore great, these guys are amazing and I'm so glad they're back!
This song checked all the Nostalgia boxes for me. I heard elements of As I Lay Dying, Trivium, ABR, and All That Remains. Such a stellar track off what should be a banger of an album.

I’ve been a fan of phinehas for awhile now and they never disappoint!! I will say if I didn’t know this band and you told me this was josh from as I lay dying doing the cleans for this song I’d believe it!

They really should’ve switched the 2 songs positions in the album, In The Night sounds like an opener…Eternally Apart sounds like an album closer.
I actually think Eternally Apart is a perfect opener! But In the Night could fit anywhere on the album, imo.
I actually really agree with this! I’m interested to see how the second track will sound coming after this one.
Think of it as a journey. The way this song is structured is to set the pace for the rest of the journey with in the night being the conclusion.
Sorry for my words but I just fucking love music! It makes me happy and powerful in some ways. It makes me more creative and basically, it made my hearing just like a spider-sense LMAO. I don't know how to explain this. I've met so many beautiful and awesome people thankfully to Metalcore/Deathcore music! It made me play guitar almost everyday!

That song was just amazing :)
Started off ok but from the first breakdown onwards it was definitely on another level! The breakdown parts reminded me of old PWD (which I'm very nostalgic about) so it's a hit with me. Still pretty new to these guys but looking forward to more of this!
i still cant believe this band has been around for about 20 years good christian metal band for sure this band is hands down one of the top 10 metalcore bands of the last 20years hell i just noticed this band formed a year after as i lay dying did lol
