Are you telling me I could've had Bowie as a Disney villian?! Wow, my heart aches more lol. The Hercules parade they had at Disneyland is still one of my top 5 parades. This movie is way too underappreciated.
I watched Hercules for the first time in about ten years last year, after I'd studied some Greek art and architecture, and in the very opening narration of the film where there's sort of a museum, so many of things you see are the most famous pieces of Greek art ever! I couldn't believe how many specific sculptures and vases I'd studied were actually in the film. I love all the elements from other myths they chuck into Hercules as well, there are an insane amount of references, it's so fun!
It really is like a whole other movie once you've learned so much of the references to mythology. Like it goes from being a funny movie to "oh my god this is great"
My absolute favorite Disney Animation. I watched it so many times as a child, I ruined the VHS tape. We reunited when it was released on iTunes in the 2000s... Hercules is my inspiration, both in styling and storytelling. The color palette, the music, and characters... I loved it. I still love it. I will always LOVE it.
You made my dream come true!! IT'S FINALLY HERE!!! Yaaaaayyyy!!! It's my favourite Disney movie of all times!! Best music, best villain, best heroine, best setting, best everything. My life is complete now
Hercules is one of my favorite Disney movies, and Hades is my overall favorite Disney villian. I'm so glad you made this video! It was awesome to learn new stuff about the movie that I didnt know!
As a child, I was annoyed that they didn't stick to the original tale. As an adult yeah...I get why. The movie is very much Superman, but it's cute and it's got a lot of energy. I love the Muses. Love Meg. I always enjoy rewatching the flick.
Also the Fates and Grey Sisters were fused together in the film. In Greek mythology, the Fates wove out an individuals life through their tapestry. The Grey Sisters were more wicked and blind with the exception of 1 single eye and tooth that was shared among the three and would constantly fight over them.
please do meet the robinsons! it is so underrated and i love the movie so much. and i mean who cant resist a soundtrack with the jonas brothers and all american rejects?
Such a good episode! You did a great job on this. :) I think it's interesting that Hercules was meant to lighten things up because even though it is really funny, I've always remembered it as one of the darker Disney films. It's a great movie either way and the music is seriously so good. Roger Bart is the best.
Jona!! I love your videos, they are Hilarious and I just wanted to tell you that you are an amazing and beautiful person, keep doing what you're doing 😄 Bye!
You learn something new everyday! Hercules is one of my favorite Disney movies! Loved the one scene where Hercules saves Meg's soul from the soul pit and he gets back his God aura! I definitely would like to see you discuss either My Favorite Martian or The Jungle Book 2! SarahSnitch, great work as always and LOVE your hair and makeup!😍👍🏼
Literally spent the whole episode responding back "honey you mean HUNKules" whenever you said Hercules. So there's that hahaha I LOVED THIS EPISODE! There was just so much great information in this! I remember the first time watching this movie again after learning about mythology at school and being like "oh that's actually a super hilarious joke!" Haha
Well that was very interesting! Wow, a John Lithgow Hades would've been so bizarre. I love "Go the Distance," that's a good one to sing in the car on the way to a job interview
+Ohana Means Disney Yaaasss and I recognize you too! All us Disnerds run in the same circle. 😊 Love Mickey Views. I'm so glad that subscribers have found him, Brayden's got a great show. Of course so does our girl Sarah here!
Since you mentioned it in this video, I think you should do Meet the Robinsons!! SUCH an underrated movie and it's absolutely beautiful. I love the message behind it. I really love Down to Disness
Subscribed Edit: also, James stayed true to his word when he said he’d voice Hades again if Disney ever wanted him to. I’m pretty sure he returned to voice Hades in Kingdom Hearts 1 and/or 2
I love James Woods so much for coming back for Hades whenever there was an opportunity. I LOVE the game Kingdom Hearts and there are very few characters in it that are voiced by their original actors but Hades is one of them and it brings so much to that world! I guess thats why there are so many cutscenes in that world compared to the others instead of text bubbles. Actually now that I think about it I don't remember Hades ever having a text bubble scene!
This is one of my favorites!! Thank you! :) don't forget Danny Devito was Phil!!! :) The soundtrack is one of my favorites and i love the dynamic between Hercules ad Meg. Suggestion: Pete's Dragon ~Jeanette
I love the film, but I do question a few artistic choices. I get it, but Ancient Greece with Gospel music and a Las Vegas theme? Weird, but fun, lol And I LOVE Scarfe's work for this film! Nice job Sarah! Plus, I love your makeup! :)
The Little Mermaid is my fav so it'd be cool to do that one but I know it's not one of your favorites. But Mulan would be super cool! Also another favorite of mine.
Sarah: "..it is the 1997 classic Hercules"
Me: "honey I think you mean HUNKules"
I love how hades was the one who started "what are those" when he saw pain and panic wearing hercules merchandise shoes.
You totally overlooked Danny DeVito as Phil - he was awesome!
to add to the cameo by Scar. In the Lion King, Zazu tells Mufasa that Scar would make a lovely throw rug. Foreshadowing much?

Oh my god, David Bowie as Hades would have been awesome, but nobody can beat James Woods.
I would love to see a down to disness of The Lion King.

I like everything about Hercules. The imagery, the cast, the way they used CGI, and how different it is from the original legend

I like how the cartoon style is very similar to Grecian pottery.
When you said "or should I say... Heracles" I was SO SURE you were gonna go with Hunk-ules. damn.
