Thanks for watching!!
i love these videos because they go beyond the kind of stuff that's in most of those "20 things you didn't know about..." articles on sites like buzzfeed.
Anyone else who re-watches their favourite episodes again every time a new Down To Disness is posted? XD
Julianne Storms. I DO! I LOvE THIS SERIES. Isn’t it crazy that everything u have done in ur life. Have led up to u reading this comment. If u have done anything else. U would not be reading this. *mike drop*
I have a custom playlist with all the "Down To Disness" episodes arranged in the movies' chronological order. I frequently play it when I need something pleasant and wholesome to listen to.
I can't imagine the movie without Angela Lansbury. She brought such a sweetness to that song that can't be measured up to by anyone else. Not saying other versions aren't good, but nothing will beat Angela Lansbury's for me. It makes me cry, it's so good.
The princess and the frog!!!!
YES!!
Ya!!!!!!!!!
My favourite fact is that Belle's peasant dress is inspired by Dorothy. Because they were both farm girls that never fit in, about to go on the adventure of the lifetime.
Fun fact my Dad worked for the company that did the ballroom scene for Disney. He wasn't in the same department, but he worked with the company while they helped Disney.
I'm so glad they didn't have to use the "ice capades" version of the ballroom scene....
The bit about only asking for a rose from her father's journey was sort of incorporated into the live action Cinderella!
This whole thing is awesome. I'm literally just crying over here about Disney.
Although I wonder why they turned the Beast's horns around!
always nice to see the original story be shared, I always liked that she just wanted a rose while her sisters wanted stuff.
I understand that the point of the series is to discuss the innovation in each animated disney movie, but i think it'd be cool if u did Mary poppins. what do you think?
I'd like her to do some live action Disney as well -- Mary Poppins, Mary Poppins Returns, and Return to Oz would top my list.
I loved Evermore from the new movie. It really enjoyed the movie more than I thought I would, especially the style of the yellow gown.
I LOVED THE LIVE ACTION VERSION!!!!!!!!! My favorite part about B&TB is that it was composed by one of my favorite composers, Alan Minkan (problaby spelled that wrong). I was just in a musical that he scored and I ADORED the music!!! It was so fabulous baby ❤️
Saw the live action twice this weekend. I loved it and the new songs are my favourite!
Tangled or Fantasia for the next Down to Disness! I love this series, I learn so much!
this series gives me so much more appreciation for my favorite disney movies and the walt disney company. thank you for sharing your knowledge :)
I'm watching with captions on at work and trying not to laugh every time it says "Pedro Hara". Love this Down to Disness, B&tB is my all time fav!
I love your Down to Disness series Sarah! Could you do the history of Up or Fantasia?
Sarah!!!! I loved this. You look awesome! Screw people and their negative comments about your makeup. I dig it. Plus, it's about the Disness and not your makeup. Keep on rocking these awesome videos. 🙌🏻🙌🏻
You should def do Tangled!
Could you do a special episode where you explain your research and preparation process for this series? It would be cool to see where you find a lot of this info, and you could recommend some books/sources for people interested in Disney history.
Can you do Tangled next month? Its my favorite Disney princess movie (tied with Beauty and the Beast)
Kinserella Rae same here :)
same here
Same, except I also love Mulan
LOVED IT!!! BATB is also my favorite Disney movie of all time and you definitely did it justice. I have seen the new live action beauty and the beast twice now and I am absolutely obsessed!!
I just binge watched your entire Down to Disness series!! Thank you for resparking my inner Disney nerd ❤❤ Much love!!
BATB is timeless and enchanting and I loved everything they did with the live remake. Love this idea! Can't wait to binge every other episode of Down to Disness!
I'm so glad that you did this episode 😍 I saw the live action version the other day, and it's amazing. My family wasn't nearly as entranced by it, but but they aren't really that into Disney, and I've done a tiny bit of work in editing and digital studio, as well as several years of acting, and I had a huge appreciation of everything that went into the film. I also loved how they brought current issues (homosexuality, cross dressing) into the film while still managing to keep it in the correct time.
LETS GET DOWN TO DISNESS! TO DEFEAT...IGNORANCE IN DISNEY RELATED DETAAAIIILLLS 👊👊👊!!
Beauty and the Beast is my favorite movie hands down. It's just SO GOOD. The live action surprised me and I liked it enough, but it doesn't really compare for me. Although Luke Evans and Josh Gad were amazing.
One of my favorite things about the production of BATB is that it was the first Disney movie to ever be written by a woman: Linda Woolverton. She's my hero. She wanted Belle to be this very progressive and intelligent protagonist and wrote Belle to walk and read at the same time because it was something she did as a child. Also she basically got the job by dropping her YA novels off at the studio and waiting for a call.
And Glen Keane is also one of my favorite Disney Legends, and certainly my favorite Disney animator - pretty much because of The Beast. His style is so fluid and when you hear him talk about his art, you can tell he cares with his whole heart.
This was an awesome video! Also A++ lipstick (I'm constantly lowkey jealous of how good your lipstick looks tbh)! :D
Thanks for sharing all this information! Definitely learned a lot of new stuff! It is always interesting to learn the back stories. Glad the CGI worked out and they didn't go with them dancing around a black screen.
I saw the new one this past weekend, and I really liked it. I definitely recommend it for anyone who is liking these remakes that Disney is doing.
I LOVE your Down to Disness series!! I can really resonate with your passion for Disney, because as an adult, no one really encourages that kind of... obsession? Anyway, I think Wreck it Ralph and Big Hero 6 are the ones I'd like to see you cover!!
Bedknobs and Broomsticks! Underrated Disney classic. I think you could bring it some justice!
Nice job Sarah!
Perfect timing with this video! I'm headed out to see the live action version in about an hour and am so very excited. Beauty and the Beast was my favorite Disney movie. I associated myself with Belle when I was growing up, both having dark features and loving to read, and have been looking forward to this new rendition so much.
Thank you so much. I've been requesting this since you started the series.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do Moana next. I have been obsessed with this movie and the soundtrack since it came out and I would LOVE to get your take on it! 🌊⛵🌺
the three sisters bit I feel like they used in the Cinderella live action, because Ella's step sisters when the father went away asked for expensive things while Ella just asked for a stick of the first tree that brushed his shoulder
the ice capades backup cracked me up!! even though i know a lot about disney animation history i always learn something new from down to disness!
i'm voting for either lion king or robin hood for next month :) thanks for making this sarah!!
I LOVE the dark hair and dark lip
It seems that Sarah almost cried by the end of the video, maybe is the emotion on talking about Beauty and the Beast
Tangled!! 😋 I love these videos
Thank you Sarah! I was waiting for this Down to Disness for so long! 😀
I got to meet Glenn Keane and he drew an Ariel sketch on my shirt! She is my favorite character, and that shirt is my prized possession.
Princess and the Frog pleeeeeease!!!! 💚
Don't forget about the sequels of beauty and the beast, the enchanted Christmas being my favorite
I wasn't super hyped about going to go see the new Beauty and the Beast until you mentioned that ALAN FUCKIN MENKEN WROTE NEW SONGS FOR IT?????? HELLO
stardust-moth ALAN FUCKING MENKEN IS THE BEST
Good idea doing Beauty and the Beast the month the new movie comes out! This is hands down my favourite movie, I love it so much. I know I'm not alone!
I'm a huge history buff so think this is a great idea for a series! I think the between Walt and Michael Eisner era is an interesting part of Disney history. It would be cool to talk about a movie during that time for a future vid!
Just wanted to say I love this series! I'm gonna be sad when you finally catch up and don't have any more to do!
I'll probably move onto live action after I finish animation ;)
Thank you for having done my 3 favourite Disney films now :D (this one, Little Mermaid and Aladdin)
Maybe for the next one you could do Mulan?
great video sarah! I cant wait to see the live action version :) always so sad to watch a great video and then scroll down to see nasty and irrelevant comments. I think you look great xxx
But omg can you do princess and the frog ?? First black princess!
Fantastic job covering such an iconic movie! Can't wait to see the live action.
Atlantis: The Lost Empire! Pretty please! It's one of those obscure Disney movies that we don't really know too much about.
Black Cauldron! It's in my Top 3 Disney animated movies but it kinda broke my heart when I found out while watching Waking Sleeping Beauty that it was a huge flop that could've killed Disney Animation.
Beauty and the Beast was also the first Disney film to be turned into a Broadway musical starting Disney on Broadway.
You did an amazing job on this video! I love this series.
Thrilled you've done Beauty and the Beast! I'd love to see a DTD on The Lion King, or Atlantis! ☺
This is my favorite Disney movie of all time and always will be. I watched beauty and the beast so much when I was little that I broke the VHS tape haha
Mulan Next!!!
I would love to see one on Mulan!
OMG Cranium Command! Love it!
I saw many others suggest this, but I'm all for your next one to be Atlantis... and Fantasia! I'm also eager to find out which Pixar movie you'll cover next (A Bug's Life is a gem).
I have been waiting for this down to Disness since you started the series!!❤
I ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ beauty and the beast!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks so much for this! I just watched the remake, and it just reminded me of all the things that I love about the original.
Howard Ashman
Splendid job! Have you done Pinocchio yet? Pinocchio!
Didn't Katzenberg fire the original director of B&B because he was so inspired by Cranium Command and that's why he hired Trousdale and Wise?
I'm not sure that's why the original director was fired...because all interviews I've seen say it was a stylistic difference thing - but the bit about Cranium Command for sure.
I don't even know where I first heard that. I think it was when I was reading about Cranium Command for the first time and I was blown away by its background importance during that era.
That was great! I LOVE the new movie. You doing VEDA right? I NEED that theme! "It's hard"
I'd love to hear about Fantasia
Yes yes yes YESSS!!! I've been waiting for this since January 1st 2017!!! Could you do Robin Hood next please?
great work as always Sarah! i would love to hear about fantasia or the princess and the frog next!
You skipped over the fact that the reason the beast takes a prisoner at all is because Beauty's father stole the rose without asking, after the beast had opened his home to him and given him food.
I skimmed over almost all of the story - I just wanted to highlight the main differences being Belle's family and that the Beast wasn't ever actually mean to her.
This was great! Glen Keane is my hero too! And Alan Menken and Howard Ashman.
Yaaaaass. Still knocking it out the park Sarah. 💚
I would love to see Atlantis: the Lost Empire! Underrated in my opinion... Thanks!
Loved the video! Really interesting, and I'm appreciating Beauty and the Beast more now. :)
These videos rock! Thanks so much!
i am so excited to see the new movie!!!! and this series is still my favorite. :-) loved this video a lot. ❤️
Hey Sarah i love your vids, would u consider doing a 'down to disness' of NBC xxxxx
Love your hair! You should do Mary Poppins next! ❤
I love these videos so much. I was wondering if you'd ever do a series, or maybe an addon to this series, for things like fantheory and lore. A video on something like Kopa from TLK for example?
Nitewulf kopa!!
I love this series so much! Beauty and the Beast is such an awesome film and I love the live action version! Can you do Princess and the Frog next?
Such a good episode Sarah! I learned so much n.n
I've been waiting for this video for so long i'm so excited aH I LOVE SARAH
I'm excited to see it! Also, this is shocking, but i have not seen the animated version! Excited to see it too! And i grew up in the sixties-i'm a Disney girl!!
This was awesome per usual! I think you should do The Lion King next, especially after hearing you talk about in on Disney Movie Fights
Great mouse detective please!! That is my favorite one growing up i think
a few suggestions Robin Hood, Fox & the hound, Mary Poppins, Lion King
That picture of the Grey Stuff was from The Red Rose Tavern
*Slight Correction: Belle moving her hair out of the way is actually an attribute from then Disney reference model/actor (now writer/producer/VO Artist), Sherri Stoner, who served as both a reference for Ariel and Belle.
It's likely both. I interviewed Paige O'Hara in a different video on this channel and she says they used it from her booth recordings, too.
Yay! Was so happy to wake up to see this down to Disness episode 💙 & btw I love your hair!
My joint 1st fav Disney Movie (w/ Lion King)
Yea Howard Ashman and Angela Lansbury! Each of them could be a topic for future Down to Disness videos. Great video with great information and history. The original movie is awesome and I cannot wait to see the new movie later this week and I’m also going to see the Broadway version in a few weeks (but not on Broadway).
Sarah, can you do Steamboat Willie next? I Mean this is Mickey and Minnie Mouse's big screen debut you know?
Tangled next!!! please!!
Sarah = The Beauty, Internet = The Beast.
Have you ever thought about doing Fantasia? It was actually one of my favorite films as a kid!
LION KING!!!!
the live action movie of beauty and the beast hasn't been out that long at theaters and i've already seen it twice, lol! i guess that shows you how much i was inspired after the 1st time i saw it to go see it again. i already can't wait to get it on dvd already, lol! i'm definitely planning on making a bee line to the dvd/blue ray movies section at a local target or walmart to get my hands on a copy of it on dvd, lol!
