I guess this video was made before we started using lithium batteries for Solar. The lithium batteries BMS (battery management system) pre-made, internally, from manufacturer. It is a circuit board. It WILL be destroyed by EMP etc.

Batteries are only safe if they're unplugged, and this only holds for low tech batteries such as those used in cars.
Lithium batteries on say, laptops, have a chip inside them which monitors battery health and so on. If this chip gets fried, the battery is often useless.
Also lithium batteries will be damaged and lose a lot of their recharge life if they're hit with an EMP.

Small lithium batteries do not seem to be affected by EMP. But larger ones connected to battery cables on solar die every time. It has been difficult for our engineers to develop an EMP proof lithium battery for solar.

I agree- All my batteries are LFP with a built in BMS and I would like to see how that would hold up to an EMP

Would love to see more (maybe even a short series) on emp, cme, Faraday Cages, old school tech that's less susceptible, etc.

+greymajickjedi They need to be separated between the metal and battery with heavy cardboard or rubber. The metal alone will not work. The EMP is attracted to all metal. Use a metal garbage can lined in rubber roofing material and seal the lid with metal tape then run a line from the handle to a nail in the ground, to ground it. The EMP will hit the metal can run down the line and the contents inside will be safe. Plastic garbage can will not work. This has been tested and is the only way to protect you batteries and electronics. Government employees are now carrying EMP backpacks in their cars to replace electronics if we are hit. All these packs are made of rubber outside; with metal mesh inside with another lined rubber inside of that; this has been tested and works. I would also get very close to God; he will make a way when their seems to be no way. Good luck.

if the batteries are running the devices like a pap respirator running on 8 2a batery and then emp happens its gonna fry it? damage permanently or turn off or nothing? also how long last an emp???

Interesting stuff. I towed a Tahoe years ago that was struck by lightning directly into the ecm. It had power but would not start or run so if we're talking the same amount of energy from an emp......

@@EmilianButoi2 Hey, this is also my concern but if there is an EMP our pap devices will be fried as well. They contain a PCB inside with programmable chips so we’re going to be SOL.

Is battery risk during an EMP the same for lead acid compared to lithium batteries? Thanks. It also seems like lithium battery devices sometimes have electronics attached to them more often than lead acid.

Thank you for the sales pitch so now I know about what can protect the DVD AND a small DVD player to watch the video but for most of my life I have had failing Pacemaker that keeps me alive because of EMP Form Both Civilian Air traffic control & Military RADAR also Micro-wave ovens I had had 17 pacemakers in 55 yrs. because of burnt wires or linking batteries from EMPs ... I would need a room for me to live in for the rest of my life ...

It is my understanding that wires which are in a coil formation are in danger during EMP. Batteries are coils of sheets of metal. Same difference. That's going to be a huge fire as todays batteries are explosive.
