A girl I met at district orchestra auditions told me she played the marimba. We started talking over that summer, and I did my research on this instrument. I sent her this video to confirm it, and to see what it could do when played well.
Nine years later, we're married. Figured I'd come back after seeing this in my suggested videos category on an entirely different Google/CZcams account. This piece, aside from being amazing, has a particularly powerful sense of nostalgia for me. Thank you.

Honestly, when you get really good, you’re able to just start jamming. It doesn’t mean they do it off the top of their heads, they still practice, they just kind of make it up. Either way, it’s incredibly impressive.

I don't know what it is but all of these videos with Legend of Zelda music on marimba are incredible. The sound of the marimba is just SO perfect for the music, so much so that I actually prefer these interpretations more so than the actual music, plus this was 9 YEARS AGO. What these guys did is incredible, truely.

Believe it or not, the only major changes in video quality over the last 8 years is the introduction of 8k (at the professional level) and 4k making it out to the consumers. The real trick has always been good lighting, good focus, and a clean lens.

I used to watch these videos in 5th grade thinking it was the coolest thing ever. Fast forward 5 years and I'm headed into 10th grade getting ready to audition for state with a marimba solo. You guys were one of my biggest inspirations, thank you for introducing me to melodic percussion :)
I have never played a Zelda game, but I get emotional every time I listen to this version of the theme. I first heard this YEARS ago, and it made me tear up.

Holy crap this just unlocked a memory of me and my class watching this in my elementary school’s music class
Picture this. You're 11 years old. You're sitting in the back seat on the way to your grandmothers. You're dads driving and your moms curled up under a blanket in the passenger seat, bracing for the four hour drive ahead. It's the early hours of the morning. And the sun isnt up yet.
