Allthough Rammstein are known for their bombastic and hard hitting sometimes even absurd and funny anthems their ballads are so beautiful. Ohne dich is a perfect example.
This song has saved my life. In a moment of darkness this song shed light in my life. This life can be so cold and alone and like you said feel defeated and reaching for help. In the lyrics it says the best sailor is myself. That line flipped a switch and made me realize that sometimes we are dealt a role in life and if we dont make the best of it we can be the person drowning in the endless cold sea or be the sailor and be the shining light. Everytime i hear this song it reminds me of what I overcame and what Rammstein means to me. I seen them twice and i cried seeing them. i owe them so much for their music.
OMG, I love his voice. This is honestly the first time I've actually heard Till Lindemann use a softer voice! And he does such a beautiful job pulling it off, despite being used to him having a much deeper tone when he sings.
"Komm in mein Boot..." 😊 Rammstein "Seemann" was released as the second single of the debut album "Herzeleid" in 1996. I like the song!
1995
@@subway5907 Rammstein album "Herzeleid" First release: September 24, 1995 Rammstein single "Seemann" First release: January 8, 1996 😊
@@_fritzer really? Didnt know that actually. Singles usually drop before the album
@@subway5907 Yes it is, the first single was "Du richst so gut" in August 1995, Semman was the second single
@@_fritzer It was just a little bit misleading.
Wow, that bass was haunting. What a beautiful song.
The studio version is already quite intense but played live the added small vocal details paired with the performance are just gut-wrenching.
I can't wait, I'm so excited! Danke, Danke, Danke!!!
A little reminder for the next reaction: ZAZ ft. TILL LINDEMAN
"Le Jardin Des Larmes" (Original Music Video)... heartbreaking chanson!
Greetings from Germany!!!
I love this song, Till's voice is beautiful
The cover by Nina Hagen is really good. It has the benefit of being with cello band, Apocalyptica. So it gives it an orchestral vibe. She sings it her own way but her voice isnt as expressive and mournful as Tills is I feel for this song
I love the cover too, but yeah, it has a bit more power, but lacks the mournful tone.
Personally i prefer Nina Hagens cover... as much i love Till, i believe that Nina and Apocalyptica owns this song.
I prefer the live instrumental cover by Apocalyptica at Area 4. To me, it just sounds better without vocals
"Apocalyptica - 'Seemann' feat. Nina Hagen (Official Video) (Rammstein Cover)" if you want to see it. I recommend it highly!
Although it's a good stand-alone cover version, I think it can't hold a candle to the original.
Love this song since day one it came out. I always felt, it's about the - as I think - most German feeling of all: melancholy. We often find ourselves just at that doorstep down to depression, enjoying the stare down into this abyss without actually going there. Sadness, grief, farewell and maybe a glass of good red wine. And when Till says "Jaaa" in here, deep and low, we lift our glasses and join in. PS: and I love playing it on my bass myself ;)
So ist es!
Your reaction to Rammstein songs is on another level, it has become so poetic that truly shows how good you feel the nerve of their songs. And I guess thats why you react so beautyfully and meaningfully.
You HAVE to react to the Nina Hagen cover of this song!!!!
Every time I hear this song I immediately burst into tears and this was no exception! 😅 I swear no song gets to me quite like this one does
Ooo. I love Rammstein! One of their new songs "Zeit" is stuck in my head for weeks. It's "Time" talks about a perfect moment, how it should stand still, but time moves on. And a video is a masterpiece 😍
I love how Till sings this now. I feel like the maturity in his voice really makes this more impactful
Best version imho is "Seemann (live Lichtspielhaus)".
Also the already mentioned cover from Nina Hagen / Apocalyptica is awesome.
Agreed, however the quality isnt the best on that one. But I still prefer it.
Imo the best version is "Live aus Berlin". "Komm in mein Boot" with Flake in boat on the sea of human hands... One of the best Rammstein live "tricks". And it works...
Oh i love it, this song still can bring me back into tears. It accompanied me for such a long time and its nice to see, that other people get touched by it aswell. Just love your emotional reactions to masterpieces like this, its so rare these days to get true feelings shown.
I absolutely LOVE the live performance from Berlin 2011 of this song.
Bust in’ out the old-school rammstein tracks! This is the first cd I ever bought from them, and this song was one of many which made me follow Rammstein since 1996.
You should react to "Klavier", "Weit weg" and "Stein um Stein" by Rammstein.
They are among my absolute favourites, both lyrically and musically.
Klavier is one of the saddest and darkest songs ever written.
Spieluhr
Klavier... so der gut... ^^
und als Ihr Spiel begann...hielt ich den Atem an
Nice reaction as always. I really love the sound of Schneider's snare, he has placed it really high so i think he uses the rim most times.
Oh, Sehnsucht, 1st song off of their self titled album Sehnsucht, gets me pumped. But I love all of their music.🤩
Ya le di like antes de verlo 🖤 me encantan tus reacciones a Rammstein saludos desde México.
muchas gracias
Es un himno para nosotros.
The base is so nice and sad in a verry calming way. Watching this reaction made me nostalgic since im missing out on all your content lately, you allways give off such calming vibes.
Hi Aileen! This is an awesome song, thanks for viewing it. The live version (Live aus Berlin) is so good. I hope they play it for you.🤟🏻
SO glad to hear that you're going to see Rammstein in concert! I saw them in June and it was just amazing. I'll always try and get tickets if they play near me again. Very happy for you!
its insane how you really enjoy those songs especially rammstein its so beautyfull it just feels like a safe place ty again
I watch all your videos and I like them every time I live in France and I admit that even if it may seem stupid I fell under your spell. thank you for your videos and your reactions ❤️
Wow, you’re the first video I saw in your channel and I instantly subscribed. Looking forward to binge watch your other Rammstein reaction videos.
Cheers from Canada.
So excited for you to get to see them live! Your 1st time is so powerful, unforgettable! There will be so.much to see...you won't wanna miss a second!
Ahh, the Rammstein with no shirts era..Hell. Yes!
Oooh I'm glad you have finally done this one!
Finally!😍
After this it would be so nice if you also check out the music video " Du riechst so gut 95' ". There are 2 versions. They released another music video in 1998. But i prefer the 95' version because they were so masculine in it and it was their first music video ever (Seemann was their second music video). Definitely one of their best songs! Seemann and Du riechst so gut are both from their first album "Herzeleid"
Thank you so much Aileen for all of your videos! Love them to watch😊
And you’ll definitely hear it in September.
Masculine I think the video is a little bit cringe
Quatsch, ist genial!
@@dickesMurmeltier1 nope
Also The band members themself dont like their 95 version. Watch the making off 😄
Great reaction as always:) Love this song. Looking forward to see them live here in Sweden next weekend:)
So happy you finally got to this one! One of my all time favorites of theirs. Just love the line “wer hält deine hand wenn es dich nach unten zieht?”
One of the biggest songs from rammstein, you are the best Aileen❤❤❤
One of their best songs i love it forever and your reaction was emotional same as the song
Greetings from the netherlands
My favorite song from Rammstein
You should try Apocalyptica - Seemann (feat. Nina Hagen) (Rammstgein Cover) too! Nina Hagen is German's Mother of Punk!
Thanks for your emotion.
I love the part where she takes her fire from the candle. In German we have a saying where if you take your fire from the candle (instead from a match or a lighter) a seaman will die.
Just a superstition but it came up from seamen who where laid off in the winter would make their living making matches then. So you'd take away their way of making money and have them starve.
thx for react,it is one of my favorite songs of Rammstein😄
Love this Song...one of my favorites
thanks. You really put effort in your videos.
Lets go,, ima go to LA for them this September
I‘m looking forward to see your reaction after you‘ve seen them live!
I have their "Sehnsucht" album which means longing and they are most known to me for Du Hast (You Hate). They have songs like Klavier (Piano) Buck dich (Bend Over) Eiffersucht (jealousy) and Bestrafe Mich (Punish Me). It really helped me taking German in high school and a semester in college to understand what they were singing about. I did pick up the word "gesicht" which means face in this.
Im in love whith your reactions. So wunderbahr
Danke ❤️
This was the first song I heard from them and it's one of my favorites and Rammstein has since become my favorite band. 🤟🏼😎🖤
And as allways Aileen, what a great reaction I realy enjoy your reactions and if you plan to do one other of the old Rammstein songs I guess "Mann gegen Mann" would be it. Again thx for your reaction 🙋♂👍
aw nice Song didn´t know this one.Greetings from Germany near Ramstein City ... :)
❤️❤️❤️
I know I'm late to the party but a fun fact about this song: When it's performed live, Flake usually crowd surfs in a boat
This song is the best Rammstein song. Love from Brazil.
I could see this song being about a person who finds comfort in the helping of others but in this case at the end maybe they couldn't help the person they wanted to and it left them feeling cold and empty inside for failing them. Sort of a double edged sword.
Still now, years after this song has been released, i am crying everytime when i listen to it. There are so many different meanings in this lyrics... for me it is the greatest song i have ever heard in my life
Agreed.
Even after you realize that the song has nothing to do with the sea at all but actually is about a "loverboy" and forced prostitution.
Till deliberately never explains the text of the songs he writes so basically everyone gets to interpret the song for themselves.
I would love to see you react to a cover of this song by finnish Apocalyptica featuring German punk queen Nina Hagen. 😊
You as a singer could be impressed by Ninas vocal range. Sha sings in a very punky style but could very well sing opera or metal or…you name it.
Stay Metal!
🤘😎🤘
that's not punk that's only bs
Bitte nicht
@@simonjackson2589 label it whatever you want. She was called Punk Queen in the 80’s. I can agree that it was not standard Brittish punk. Aswell as Rampnes was called punk from an American perspective I guess Nina was too from a sort of German perspective. The label ”pynk” was pften miss used and put on all sorts of rebelious music. Cheers!
@@alfonsoagren414 a punk give a shit of politics, this woman is political af. a punk will beer, dance, music and fuck. Thats not Oi! so shes not a Punk
@@alfonsoagren414 Agree fantastic cover. Don't let the haters bring you down. Nina was and is punk to the bone !!
I’d like to recommend watching some of their old live shows from the 90’s. They are some of my favourite things to watch or just simply have in the background while doing other things. :D
26 years old WOW👍😬
Finally! I can’t wait for this!
Love your reactions on Rammstein and your funny pronunciation 😊I understand, that you will see them in San Antonio or LA? This will be a live changing adventure for you....there is nothing comparable. I see them last in 2019 in Germany and by Chance in Barcelona, Spain....and next in 2023 in Europe and Germany. Wish you all the Best. Frank from Germany
Oh man I forgot just how much I love it when the distorted guitars join in... Eargasm
This song is great but you must see this one live ! I love Rammstein ! Greatings and love from germany ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️
One of my favs😍❤️
Till,s voice in this one is magical ✨
Rammstein ist die beste Band Deutschlands ,Greetings From Germany
Your face reactions are always funny 😂
for 1996 - a very impressive video .... and the bass!!!!!!!
Thats one of their most impressiv song for me
georgeous reactrion
I have never heard his voice like that!!!
Thanks Aileen love this song
yes, thanks Aileen
my God, this song always reminds me of Lilli Marlene, back when I was frozen on the Eastern Front in 1941.
it should
I think you would love the cover by Nina Hagen
Rammstein - Rein Raus is a damn good song to check out!
You should watch the Apocalyptica cover of this featuring Nina Haagen
Es raro que la gente conozca esta canción. Muy buena reacción! una canción bella de verdad
You should definitely check out the cover with Nina Hagen who is not just the godmother of Punk, but quite a bit the female version of till - specifically in this song.
please try also Nina Hagen's cover-version of that song (Apocalyptica - 'Seemann' feat. Nina Hagen (Official Video))
if you dont, you miss something ;)
One of the more beautiful slow Rammstein's songs. The number one for me still being Ein Lied.
Love this song so much. Because thanks to "Seemann" I discovered Rammstein. Imo the best version is "Live aus Berlin". "Komm in mein Boot" with Flake in boat on the sea of human hands... One of the best Rammstein live "tricks". And it works...
If you liked it, than you could also Listen to Nina Hagens Version of this song
To this day, this is the best Ballade they ever made
Definitely try Reise reise, Wo bist du, Feuer und Wasser and Roter sand. I love Richard and Till. They are amazing and I am sure you will love their show. I saw Rammstein live in 2011 and I still feel every sensation when watching the videos today. It was mind-blowing. Enjoy.
Schon das Video Reise ,Reise von Nortal Neis gesehen ? Aus dem Film Der Sturm
@@michaellukassen5716 Will check it out. Thanks for the suggestion.
Now I recommend "Aüslander", very funny, where they use up to 5 languages, and it has a somewhat dark humor video as Rammstein usually does.
In this type of Rammstein songs, I love Spieluhr, with this amazing Lyrics. Or Wiener Blut( but this is really hard)
I've always thought Till is singing from the perspective of the ferryman to the other world which is why it's so somber even though he sounds helpful. He's picking up souls, describing how they ride with tears in their eyes and in the end they are alone and cold.
the song Klavier is also god, from the album "Sehnsucht"
I think you'll love the cover by Apocalyptica feat. Nina Hagen, too!
You need to do a video on your Rammstein concert experience! :D
After seeing this, you absolutely MUST see the cover of this song by Apocalyptica ft. Nina Hagen. I am as diehard a Rammstein fan as can be, but this cover is even more impactful than the original for me.
no!
You're totaly right, mein Freund. It is...
@@hxn_off thats your opinion... and he has his opinion....thats easy, so...Peace, dude
@@stefanstock953 its just bad .
@@hxn_off Aaalrighty then, i gat ya....well, i got older and i got wiser.. and my way of thinkin is now..like this; when something is very good, for example 'Rammstein', there should not be any bad. So, instead just thinking it's crap, i go and try to find the good in it. Always search for the positive in life. I've been thru some ugly shit, saw some cruel horror, for what i wish i didn't...but i also knew of the beauty in this world. That little spark of hope and faith, lights my everyday, and push me to go on. Without it, i would have gone insane and blew my damn head of, 30 years ago. (in 'Cobain style'). So, don't mind, buddy. ...
Wow 27 years old 👍👏👏👏
That was their very first music video!
youre awesome
Don't forget the version of Apocalytica with Nina Hagen. Brilliant cover (and possibly the most wicked female singer from Germany since .... well maybe for ever)
Till's voice was beautiful back then and it still is today
i don't recall you doing Judas Priest ever... Painkiller might be a good one...
One of rhe oldest songs from them tjat I still to this day hold dear.. only trumped by Mutter..
Wish me luck.. It's my time to see them live next friday (29th july) and I hope that you will love them as much live as I have and will once again.
Edit: Though it's hard to do I do love to see new people react to Rammstein and that is that.. -but I see the Joy in your eyes listning to the songs that I love and it would be such a treat for me and (I hope) many others if you would do a vlog when you go to the concert.. or at least an aftermath :)
You know what? After a year or so, I realised that heart with number on the screen above the mic is the actual pulse of Aileen)))) I thought it is some likes somewhere or something related)))))))))
Feeling silly))
Rammstein ❤
You are very astute surveyor Aileen! Thank you. And thank you for being an online beacon, that you don't have to be "white" and even, "German" to appretiate good music. Too many barriers that i'm glad you are helping to break down. Appreciate it!
"Seemann" (lit. "sea man", sailor) = ZAY-MUNN
