can u even have good posture if u are a dj? like your back can be straight/normal, but your neck is always goign to be looking down/hunched over.
Mewzyc I knew right away he was gunna say his lower back, my back kills after long sets. Only way is to raise the gear on stands and even then it kinda doesn’t help
The problem is not posture, but setup... Usually the tables are very low for tall DJ’s like Dillon so they end up hunched over trying to see what’s on their little screens...

Great video. Although I’m going to disagree about the vinyl. CDJs are great for sure! And if I’m at a club I’d generally use them. But I do plenty of smaller gigs in which the sl-1200s are preferred. They feel better to mix and look better on stage. But if I had a lot more money to have top of the line CDJs, I might feel different.

@9:38 could be because Serato has an auto gain function that level volumes out,, and if you play straight CDJ to mixer, that is not always the case.

Because it's video about DJing? I'm aware that he knows his stuff, I've seen his techno sets in his studio. I still think it would be odd to have someone, who tells people again and again he's NOT a DJ, giving advice about DJing. That's like having Supa hot fire telling people about rapping. He's NOT a rapper.

4:09 min. I guess what he should have pointed out/ made more clear is to beatmatch either through headphones only or through speakers only.
The speakers sometimes have a different delay compared to the headphones, so beatmatching via headphones and speakers might be harder.
Kind of a logical answer to the CDJ -> mixer vs CDJ -> Serato -> mixer volume discrepancy: CDJs usually run off of straight AC power allowing them to tap into higher wattage for the built-in amp most CDJs possess. The Serato box uses a converter (IIRC it's 12 volts but might even be lower) with much lower amperage and a less powerful post-amp, which means you have to rely on your mixer's gain to boost the signal before running it through the mixer lines.

He basically answered the first question by saying NO WE ACTUALLY DO STUFF but never explains what he does, only that it has some skill to it and that you need to know how to read a crowd which by the way is a requisite for ANY performer on stage.

Its not easy to explain, he wasn't there to give a tutorial on how to be a dj and the dynamics of becoming one.
You can’t explain what he does in 10 minutes, and if you didn’t have years of experience in electronic music production you wouldn’t understand anything anyway
