- THE CENTER OF THE PROPHETIC UNIVERSE: Watch Jerusalem (Matthew 24:15-16).
When Jesus told His disciples and us about the future he built every word of it around one spot on earth. In theological circles, this message (Matthew 24; Mark 13; Luke 21) is called the Olivet Discourse. Jesus framed His words about the rest of the history of this planet by the sight of Jerusalem in all its earthly glory spread in front of Him.
Look again at Christ's very first words in Matthew 24:2. All that He says about His second coming is introduced by those words. He said keep your eye on Jerusalem. I am ascending from the Mount of Olives (the center of Jerusalem then and now) and I am returning to the Mount of Olives.
As we turn to the subject again of Christ's coming and those incredibly detailed snapshots He left us in Matthew 24, we are focusing upon Jerusalem. According to the Lord, the end of the world centers around Jerusalem.
The most mentioned place in the Bible is a city called Jerusalem.
The center of the world and the prophetic universe is the same city.
Jerusalem should be your favorite city. After all, it's the city that God has chosen for Himself in 1 Kings 11:13 However I will not tear away the whole kingdom; I will give one tribe to your son for the sake of my servant David, and for the sake of Jerusalem which I have chosen.”
Ancient maps put Jerusalem In the center of the world, and I think they were right.
Jerusalem is also God's timepiece. The final events of world history will culminate there with the glorious return of Jesus Christ to the Mount of Olives.
Mentioned over 800 times in God's Word -Jerusalem is a very important place. It was in Jerusalem that God promised Christ's coming as the Lamb of God to Abraham. It was here that David was promised a future son that would have an endless kingdom. It was here God has worked. In:
Jerusalem! Three thousand years of lifetimes! Abraham and Isaac upon the altar of Moriah, a stone's throw from here! David, the shepherd-king, watching Bathsheba from a distance. Jeremiah, mourning for the exiles. Jesus, teaching in the Temple. Peter's betrayal. Jesus, walking the Way of Sorrows! Dying with forgiveness on his lips. Peter, shouting the good news in the streets on Pentecost! He has risen! Call on His name and live forever with Him!
But today all that is left from Christ's Jerusalem is called the Western Wall. If you go there one of the first things you notice are several large signs that have been affixed near the entrances to Jerusalem's Western Wall plaza. In addition to the usual guidelines regarding modesty and respect for the sanctity of the holy site, the centrality of the Temple Mount to Judaism and the Jewish people is clearly expressed. The signs, ten feet tall, read:
"Jewish tradition teaches that the Temple Mount is the focal point of Creation. In the center of the mountain lies the 'Foundation Stone' of the world. Here Adam came into being. Here Abraham, Isaac and Jacob served G-d. The First and Second Temples were built upon this mountain. The Ark of the Covenant was set upon the Foundation Stone itself. Jerusalem was chosen by G-d as the dwelling place of the Divine Presence. David longed to build the Temple, and Solomon his son built the First Temple here about 3,000 years ago. It was destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. The Second Temple was rebuilt on its ruins 70 years later. It was razed by the Roman legions over 1,900 years ago. The present Western Wall before you is a remnant of the western Temple Mount retaining walls. Jews have prayed in its shadow for hundreds of years, an expression of their faith in the rebuilding of the Temple. The Sages said about it: 'The Divine Presence never moves from the Western Wall.' The Temple Mount continues to be the focus of prayers for Jews all over the world."

Yeah I started about then too and although I completely turned my life over to God in 2017, I have learned a lot from this guy I have learned more in a year or a year-and-a-half and I have my whole life. I listen to a couple other people too but this guy really gets down in teaches you the Bible😊

I read and study a lot. One of my favorite things is to follow along and study with Dr. Barnett. The thing I respect most of Dr. Barnett, besides his vast knowledge of the word, but it's the fact he simply teaches the word of God, teaching the doctrine of Christ. He doesn't busy himself with trying convince you of how this denomination is wrong or that one. He just teaches the word. Thank you Dr. Barnett for all you do, you are truly a blessing.

He is a very good teacher of the Bible, and he also had a love of history which he incorporates into many of his teachings and uses that to give us exact timelines of what was going on with Israel and the rest of the earth in biblical times. I’m so glad you found him and you’ll listen to many of his teachings and sermons. I’m almost seventy, and this man is the best teacher I have ever listened to. I ran across him a few years ago when I had gotten disheartened with the direction of many pastors online. They get off into politics and other things and I just was not hearing the real teachings from the Bible taught in the spirit of truth of the Gospel. I don’t alway peruse the comments because there is so much confusion and deception among people who call themselves true believers, but your comment was on top and I saw the first few words. May the Lord bless you and lead you in reading His Word, and I hope you’ll be listening to Dr. B often. He and his wife have been missionaries for years, and they are tireless in doing God’s work. He’s one of the most educated and learned pastor and he has a wonderful testimony. Faithful and humble people, the Barnett family. Excellent teachings.

did you people ever think that maybe Paul was talkiing about the same Temple Jesus talked about in Matthew 24:1-3, and not some future temple 2000 years after the one slated for destruction within a generation was destroyed? Why would Paul be so vague and not tell us about a temple far into the future? It should be very obvious that Paul was talking to the ancient Thessalonians about some things that would happen in their age, and not an age thousands of years into the future, which would not concern the Thesalonian church one whit. Please, think logically and clearly before you all go off on your crazy end time ideas, thinking Paul had you in mind. Paul was writing a letter intended for a specific church in a specific era. When you read someone elses letters and put yourselves in the original recipients place, does that make any sense? You werent the intended subject, so why interpose yourselves into an ancient letter that the apostle never intended for yourselves ?

Temple construction begins day 1 of Daniel's 70th week when the first trumpet sounds. It takes 220 days to build and the image goes into the temple day 1230.

Da 7:14 "And he said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the sanctuary be cleansed." 220+2300=2520. A person from the Temple Institute confirmed to me they have scheduled 220 days to build the temple. Jesus said when the image goes in the temple, great tribulation begins. Mt 24:15:21,22. Daniel says in 12:11 when the image goes in the temple there shall be 1290 days. 2520-1290=1230.

a biblical year is not 360 days. If it were, that "year" would be out almost 2 months within a decade. A biblical years is exactly like a solar year.365.25 days. Then the cycle repeats. Even the ancient Hebrews needed to intercalate a 13th month every third year in thier lunar based calendar to keep their calendar in sync with the seasons.

the wall was never part of the temple
The Western wall is part of the retaining wall, of the huge platform on which the temple was built. As Jesus said it would, the ( Herodian) temple was flattened ( you can still see stones from it, which are lying at the foot of the platform)

Matthew 24 in no place is there verse that says look for my second coming on the Mount of Olives, where I ascended to heaven and will return on the Mount of Olives. Jesus had not been crucified and resurreced yet.

The generation that witnesses the event (i.e. the fig tree (i.e. Israel) gaining its leaves and fruit (i.e. rebirth) will not pass away until all the prophecies are fulfilled that Jesus was talking about in Matt. 24. In this case, a generation is not 40 yrs, but the lifespan of a person, People can live 100 yrs, or more, so add about a 100 yrs to the year that Israel became a nation (i.e. 1948). That will be the end of the age.

RAPTURE # 4, THE CHURCH RAPTURE OCCURS WHEN THE SUN AND MOON GROW DARK...
In Matthew 24:30, Jesus said that the rapture of the church will occur at the same time as the Sun and moon grow dark, and shooting stars fall from the sky. Matthew 24 matches perfectly with the opening of the 6th seal in Revelation chapters 6 and 7.
The opening of the 6th seal releases a great deal of activity. These events include: (1). Powerful earthquakes (2). the Sun and Moon growing dark and (3) falling stars, (4) the sky recedes like a scroll, and (5) every island and mountain moved. Events such as these, could all be caused by the explosion of a Super Volcano or asteroid impact. Next we read (6) government leaders, with their armies and civil servants, along wealthy people and their attendants, run to their doomsday shelters that have been built in the mountains. They hope to be safely covered, and hidden from the rath of God and the rath of the Lamb. (7) even though the Bible editors begin a new chapter, the events that follow, are still clearly events that are the result of the opening of seal number six. Next we see the 144,000 Chosen who are sealed on their foreheads. (8) Even though the Rapture of the church is discussed in the next chapter, it is still discussing. The next event of the opening of the 6th Seal is the arrival of the church to the throne of God. The Elder first approaches John concerning this vast multitude that arrived suddenly in Heaven. This great multitude, too large to count, appears in heaven around the throne of God. From the excited reaction of the Elder, we can tell this huge group arrives in heaven, rapidly and even spectacularly. The Elder asks John "who are these people, and where did they come from." After the SUDDEN appearance of this group, the Elder then explains that "these are the ones who come out of great tribulation." Rev. 7:9-14.
These saints are on Earth in tribulation. Then they ESCAPE suddenly, and they arrive as a group in heaven. There is NO mention of the great multitude dying or being killed. Rapture # 4 occurs just before the Seven Trumpets are blown.
All Christians DO NOT automatically go in the rapture, but only those who are watching, alert, and praying. Jesus implores us to “stay awake at all times, praying that you may have strength to ESCAPE all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.” (Luke 21:36). Also, we are told that a crown of righteousness is given to everyone who loves and craves the appearance of Christ.
RAPTURE # 5, THE 144,000 (Rev.14:1-5.)
John sees The 144,000 saints alive, and standing with Jesus, on the Mount of olives. The Mount of Olives is also the same place where Jesus experienced His own Rapture to Heaven. After John sees Jesus and the 144,000 on the Mount of Olives, suddenly, there is a great noise, and the 144,000 saints are then seen standing before the throne of God, worshiping God in heaven. One moment they are on earth, then they are in Heaven. This is a rapture.
RAPTURE # 6, THE TWO WITNESSES (Rev. 11:12)
The Rapture of the two witnesses is also a resurrection from death back to life. After being resurrected, the two witnesses are standing alive on earth in front of their enemies. Next, they hear a voice that says "come up here". Then, they are raptured into Heaven as their enemies watch.
RAPTURE # 7, JESUS, THE SON OF MAN HARVESTS THE EARTH.
This last rapture is for people who became TRUE followers of Jesus during the tribulation. These tribulation saints must overcome the Beast and remain alive until rapture #7. This last rapture is for the escape of God's people, and It occurs just before the final Seven Bowls of God's wrath are poured out on those who dwell on the earth. In the next verses, we see that these tribulation saints are raptured from earth, and then they are seen around the sea of glass in heaven. God personally gives them harps and they worship God by singing. Rev.15:23. Notice that these saints overcome the beast on earth, then they arrive in Heaven with no mention of death. This is a rapture.
THE TRIBULATION SAINTS WHO DIED GAVE FOR CHRIST.
Later, in Rev. 20:4, we see the other tribulation saints who were killed for their testimony of Jesus. They did not take the mark of the beast. These saints are raised back to life, and they rule with Jesus for 1,000 years. This is not a rapture, It is a resurrection from death to eternal life.
PRE-TRIB, MID-TRIB, OR POST-TRIB RAPTURE
When we understand that the Bible teaches that there are SEVEN raptures, it completely clears up pre-trib. , mid-trib. , and post-trib.

The KJV is a bad translation. It is end of the “age”, not the end of the “world”. The Old Testament tells us the world does not end. The Olivet Discourse was fulfilled in the first century.
Olivet Discourse is a teaching in reference of Jewish people , this discourse was not fullfilled because there's still a week or 7 years for Jewish people.
