Hey my lovelies
We did it! Here is hoping it stays together enough for Dan to drive through the trails!
Walter really genuinely enjoyed his ride and I’m hoping there will be more!
If you are looking for Eric’s channel the link is below:

Can’t wait to see you again soon.

I would think a spool or a Detroit Locker, if available for that axle, would be a good backup until another air-locker is available. More Walter is always great!
More Walter is definitely great!
😁💙💙 see you soon, Georges!!
Brent. I agree on the Detroit. I have done that in a pinch. It worked out great.
Dump the ARB Lockers, I've seen so many failures with them in over 25 years of off-roading. Then many times the owners give 100 and 1 excuses for what is wrong with their ARB lockers but never admitting it failed again. Not a knock directed at you. Just many years of experience with the problem. I posted the same to Fabrats when Paul was having problems with his. I don't know everything definitely but having seen it so many times. But in on east side of Mississippi River. Detroit lockers have been a staple for 4x4s followed with "Lincoln Lockers" as your trying out..🙂
seeing walter grinning from ear to ear was priceless. and for walters next trail i think double sammy would be a good one
Glad to see Walter enjoying himself.
Walter looked so happy wheeling without having to hold himself up so his shoulder wasn't hitting a bar. I say he'll be back out more with you.
My first thought was going to spool as a temporary measure, then you mention it's in the works lol. Removing failure points is always a good thing. I think the temporary repair will hold up just fine too.
Walter is a full grown man. The modification of the roll cage is great!
It’s good seeing you two out together. Walter seems like a great guy.
Glad to see Walter being able to go out to ride with you Hollie. You guys are all going to have a blast at the off-road games.
Finally ....walter will definitely go wheeling again......look how happy he looks in MM .....only thing left for me to see is walter actually doing some wheeling
The smile on Walter's face says everything everybody needs to know
It's great to see Walter having fun.
It looks like the welded locker will save the day! It is good to see Walter will now be wheeling with you on a regular basis. Thanks for welding the adjustment in place. It probably will look lots smoother once you notch and weld the tubing into the corners.
Or put an open carrier with a mini spool in it until you can get the locker. I ran a mini spool in a "toy" yj till I had to drive it daily.
Y'all please be safe an thank you for doing what y'all do an may y'all please be blessed
Walter looked so happy! Do it more often buddy! Enjoy life!
Wallie that's so awesome. Super excited Walter can go crawling with you and actually enjoy it
Holly it was nice seeing Walter riding with you and I think he will do more rides. Great fix you two it looks like it will work.
ARB is NOT your only choice !!
So sad for your locker but I hope it works! Just have Dan ship you a new 80. He’s advertising they are sitting ready to go
The gears that spline to the axle shaft are actually called side gears.
Just glad to see Walter back out and abke to enjoy it! Miss you guys!
Great to see your fix got Walter back on the trails
why not grab a stock carrier and weld up the spider gears and use it until you can rebuild your locker
I like seeing Walter. I think he's a really nice guy.
That's cool Walter riding along
Good old Lincoln locker
I just enjoy watching you and Walter especially when you’re working together 😎
Fantastic “science and magic” going on in this video! We can’t wait for the off-road games!
Try Matt, Rudy,Rory, Robby, Hillbilly or Paul one of them should have some parts that would work lol, great video nice to see Walter along
We could have maybe had a new part machined here in Hurricane, but even that might have been tight, given the proximity to the offroad games 😬
Ask Matty if he can drill a big hole in that shaft and weld a hard bolt in it.
Great job guys. Thank you 😊
Every time I see a video by you, it makes me smile❤
Gun case for spare axles and drive shafts ???!!! Brilliant! Plus, bonus footage of super Miner Matty at 4:13!
Bugger, I'm pissed that life got busy and I'm only just catching up on a lot of YT. If I'd seen this 10 days ago I could have grabbed the parts from ARB HQ here in OZ and express freighted them over in like 4 days max.
Don't ever forget to ask your fanbase if you need help, I doubt I'm the only one close by to ARB HQ.
Great idea to use the Pelican case to store the axles vs just throwing them in a connex where they'll be banging around probably getting damaged in the process.🤙
HE SAID HE WOULD ,he better
I thought you had OX lockers since you have fusion diffs. I have Ox lockers in my fusion diffs and I am so glad I did not go with ARB like I had originally planned!
MM is still my favorite Wrangler of all time
So my fix is Detroit
I know I know I know
But that’s my thought and I’m sticking to it
Great work!
Just throw a spool in it and send it!
Congratulations and have fun with all the short bus gang, the cool kids will be In Glamis.
Quick question!!! Why not go with a ox locker. I have a air ox locker and the actuator is super simple. Just a shift fork on the cover
Love to Ms Lovely, Walter & Matty.
Matt or Rory probably got a locker laying around
Glad you hopefully got it fixed! Walter seems pretty pumped with the new roll cage modifications! Excited to hopefully get to see you guys at the Games!
Loving this Video!!!🥰
The one thing to think about is take the gears to a machine shop or a fab shop and have them to make new parts for replacements. Especially when they can get stronger metal for parts and get them faster. Hope luck holds out.
Holly; if you do make the Off Road Games; talk to Eric from BSF Recovery Team about the "Missabe Mountain Trail" in northern MN. Every trip he's made there; I think 4 times since it's been built; he's broken the wrecker every time.
Suggestion; order 12 replacement gears; or talk to a local machine shop & find out if they could crank them out for you when you get said part in 4 months
Having seen too much of this side of Mischief Maker over the years (See Black Mountain videos) including the Pelican rifle case with the spare axles, you are at least catching the axle fatigue before the broken axle happens! Also, Walter's smile says it all!
Happy OnX customer!
Don't get locked in on the ARB locker. Switch to Detroit or Eaton or other. An ARB Lincoln locker??? Probably more expensive in the long run than changing brand of locker for now. And how about parts from Nessie?
Watched a few of PSF's videos. Was looking to SAS an 04/05 pre MDS HEMI Durango a while back. His has been back burner forever, but I love his other rigs and builds.
Glad you hit on a solution. Happy wheelie M M.🖤🖤
Not ideal, but it should work AND hopefully at least get Dan through the course 😁.
Welding the spider gears is for ever!
We only welded the one spider gear to the clutch gear (that’s usually actuated by the air). All of that is replaceable - at some point 😅
Replaceable is not repairable.
@@mickeydevey834 yes, that’s a fact 😊
Hope you make it to the starting line.
Fingers crossed!
All of them with big Walter
14:54 .. I agree! :) .. Under these conditions that is best!! :)
What's going on with the cameras lately? Sometimes you and Walter are reversed left to right (like his Fox hat looks like it is mirrored) and in this video some shots show Walter on the "driver" side, while you are on the "passenger" side driving with the steering wheel in your hand. ???
Just like a phone camera video when using the front camera. 🤔
🤣🤣🤣
It's a glitch in the matrix
Maybe Walter took the red pill but Hollie took the blue one!
A thought for your rail Jeep. A Mack Bulldog and mounting base for on the hood, with a kilt on it. Built Bulldog tuff.
Maybe someone who has one will step up and provide you one.
hahaha walter looked so nervous with miss Holli driving
I want to see more Walter!
How about a good Detroit Locker? Have had one for many years, no problems. Imagine that!!!
they are the best
YUP Walter loves it....
I used to weild the spiders up until I went to a spool, great video keep up the good work God bless from GA
Oh Michelle the other you could do is call Summitt Racing tec support they have a lot of smart people there.
Great to see Walter enjoy the ride for a change! Don't know of its intentional but the mirrored video made it seem like Walter was in the drivers seat from time to time. Is this a hint of things to come?
On the ring gear, being an way outside the box type and a bit of a... well lets not go there... I would have been tempted to get a plate of tool steel or die stock and prevailed on someone with a EDM Cutting Machine or a Plasma Cutting Robot and tried to replicate the part. I've done that a number of times with just a drill press and die grinder using old tool steel or die stock and sometimes even worn out industrial cutters getting rewarded with surprisingly pretty OK and better results. Sometimes these science experiments ended up lasting longer than the original. My motivator was usually along the lines of avoiding a tens to hundreds of thousands of dollars penalty for late delivery due to a critical piece of equipment breaking down.
Best!
What air pressure are you running on the locker? For that style of locking collar and racing, it should be a minimum of 125 psi. @ 90 psi you get the problems you are experiencing.
?????? Some how I lost the channel of the gal you had told us about. She was the young gal from Poland who traveled the world.. I hope you read this so I can get to watching her. ?????? Keep having fun and making good videos.
Her name is Eva zu Beck and her channel can be found here:

I really appricatew your reply. Enjoying watching your current build
I was considering an air locker. But after seeing how many of them have broken, I am having second thoughts. I drive a lot on snowy icy roads and having a locker or even a limited slip can be deadly. A selectable locker is great. When I need it and only when I need it.
My elocker in my fj cruiser is 17yrs old now. I wheel pretty hard and have a ton of mods. I would recommend an elocker if youre serious. Check out east coast gear supply for pricing.
You have a ton more experience than I behind the seat in places I've never seen, but do you really need a selectable locker in the rear? I know you do drive on the street, but maybe something like a Grizzly/Detroit locker over a ARB?
The inherent issue with air lockers are they will stop working when you need them. That's why I opt for mechanical lockers. Especially in rear aplications. The road manners of a true locker are widely overexagerated. So the best solution is to go to a grizzly or detroit locker. I run a Detroit in my front Dana 60 too.
Sadly, ARB has very poor parts support and silly parts prices these days. Seems they want people to just buy a new unit. I've had to deal with this too much in the last 25 years...... I don't install ARB's these days unless the axle in question has no other option. Very unfortunate, this isn't just your bad luck.... I like your fix !
They have been excellent for me in the past (no special treatment, just regular customer support). I’ve had them warranty the bonded seal and a flange cap when I spun a bearing in the past.
Put a spool in it.
Can you weld on the gear teeth grind them to shape them to work use a welder make the teeth bigger then grind them down to shape
Bet you can get a spool for that diff in a short time which is mongo strong, but your solution will be as strong as the original locker.
Always wondered why Walter didnt wheel with you more often!
I would go with detorit locker
You dont need a locker when you've got a welder in your shop😂
Put a spool in it
Maybe you can swap out rearends with nessie? Don't know if that would be feasible.
First off it's good that Walter can enjoy riding in the Jeep. I was wondering if there is a machine shop in your area that could make you a new gear for the differential to replace the one that is warn out.
Revisiting your channel after a long break, hope you have fully emerged out of your turtle shell.
The lovely 4×4 detectives,
Figure it out and fix it up🎉❤
If you get tired of the welded rear, you could likely get a Ford factory E locker at a dealership. They seem to be holding up well with larger tires so far.
Unfortunately, eLockers have been very problematic, especially for Dana80s. And customer support is terrible, whereas ARB would probably warranty the part - if there was stock.

Walter Wheels Wayne's World. Obviously.
I was about to say when i seen the head line You gotta be there 😫😫😫😫😫 lol
Please don't drop out. We will find you the part
You could call Ian I bet he could figure out something.
4 months out , that is completely REDICULOUS lol. Yes Walter really looked like he was having fun wheeling without bruises GO WALTER LOL. Thanks for the video guy's.
Yeah, the ARB guys laughed when I gave them the part number 🤣.
They hadn’t even sold any recently in order to point me to a dealer/distributor that might have one in stock.
They need to make the completion lockers again. Where if they fail the fail locked and you use the air to open the differential
There are a few companies that make competition lockers still. Possibly Yukon…but that would be a much better option and a great fail safe.
Just like Paul from FabRat's say's It'll be fine!
Fabricobble works
It’s call American ingenuity, when can’t find the parts to fix the problem you just make it yourself and get it to work 😂😂😂
Should have called Robby I’ll bet he has a couple lockers in the Lame-o that aren’t doing anything for awhile
Wrong axles...
This is what happens when everybody is using Dana 60s. Also ARB is a foreign company (from Australia). No offense Holly.
Not a D60...
I'd lean towards an 'orb of strength'.
Supposed to change tags within 6 months of moving.
Correct! That is a rule. Unfortunately, it is also a rule (according to the state of Utah) that as long as you spend less than 183 days in the state during a tax year, you are not a resident of Utah 😊.
