You left out The only pc of information that I really needed That is exactly how to use the draft control I already know what it does need no how to use it I have an LS357And it has draft control on it and I would sure like to know how to use it Thanks for helping anyway
My 1964 massey 135 has draft control...
Looks great
Nice work 👍
You don’t say where to set the lever to turn on or off your draft control. I also need to know how much is necessary.
I'm sure that they put the lever on the back on tractors that have a cab. Otherwise you can stand behind the tractor and just reach up and grab the regular control if there's no cab in the way.
Or some people may not want to pay for the extra lever even if they do have a cab.
Enjoyed the video. I recently got a Kioti NX with the draft control and have enjoyed getting to know it. I am at a similar process as you with my driveway. Wondering, did you tilt the blade side to side at all in order to put a crown in the fresh stone or are you waiting until it settles for a season before crowning?
Nice tractor 👍👍👍👍👍
Nice 👍
so you have it in draft position 1 or 10 for more draft? like does 1 “bite” harder than 10?
I don’t know the numbers on other tractors but I understand that the draft control needs to be lower than the implement. On my tractor 10 is the lowest position for the implement so the draft control needs to be below 10, like 8. I am a new tractor owner and just researched the same so getting confirmation from an experienced operator would be good. I got my info from Messick videos.
Have you had any issues with your LS tractor? You need a hydraulic top link - make your life a lot easier.
I've got an xr4145hc on order. Does the pulsing of the draft control show up in the road surface?
Did you ever get your LS?
On my LS4155HC and a heavy box blade the pulsing may show up a little during high load use like having all 6 rippers down. Its still way smoother and easier than trying to manual adjust the 3 point while moving forward.
Once the heavy work is done and doing final grading the pulsing does not show up on my work. Other tractors/draft controls may be different.
So in a sense the draft control is acting like a float position? By the way your ring tone matches mine and I was looking to see who was calling me...change your ringtone lol.
The difference between float and draft. Float on a front end loader is usually used in reverse to smooth loose material. Fload just lets the weight ride along the top. Hit a big bump and the front end loader will just ride up over it. No down pressure other than the weight of the bucket/loader arms. You can increase or decrease the amount of bite by rolling your bucket further up on edge, or by adding weight to your bucket.
Just don't point your bucket edge back towards the tractor while backing. You can and will overload your bucket cylinder hydraulic limits and you can easily exceed your front end loaders mechanical limits.
On a rear 3 pt draft is used going forward. Draft is a set amount of load on the hydraulic circuit. Usually regulated with a stiff spring and valve. Originally draft control was used to control a plow so it wouldn't dig in and stop the tractor.
Using draft for box blading works really well with a little practice. I use it quite a bit on my LS4155HC for landscaping. You can use the rippers effectively without having to fuss with them digging in and stalling the tractor.
It will work the same smoothing with just the box blade. You can adjust the draft or the amount of load while moving. Doesn't hurt anything.
That is pretty neat, how much does a tractor like that run? Did you buy the blade and tractor as a package?
I did buy it as a package but i paid alot less the a new holland ,JD or a kubota
I bought an LS XR3135H no cab, came with front loader for apx $22,000. Cab would have been apx $4500 more.
No package, just tractor.
You know for about 300 bucks at Tractor Supply online you can install a hydraulic top link on your 3 point. Adjust that box blade from inside the cab... Money well spent! And that sticker you talked about .. that's for the hydraulic remotes. That's where you'll plug in that new top link. Lol
It's on the to-do list thanks for comment thanks for watching
Kinda using it as a land plane.
You have any issues with the LS?
Every brand has issues but I haven't had any with my LS
No no trouble at all I love my mt357 It has been a good tractor
