I used to work at Pentair assembling those pumps. If I never see another one, it'll be too soon, LOL!

Hello maybe you can help me out, I just installed a pentair 1HP yesterday, my old pump sat at bottom of my pit this is the 4th pump I've replaced in the last 9 years. The new one yesterday I placed onto 2 brick blocks as my pit fills up very frequently the issue I have this morning is when the float is triggered and it pumps out the pit it looks like it's staying on i had to go down and click it to get unstuck. Any recommendations on what I should do what is the fix thanks for your time

Can I add a check valve to the drain hole on the Myers QP15 and add a fertilizer and/or pesticide reservoir to it? Help

Question. I had a new 10 gpm 3/4 hp submersible pump (goulds) installed on a 40/60 switch. The well is 50' deep and about 150 yards from the house with no slope. Kept the old 20 gallon pressure tank charged to 39 psi (with the tank drained). When someone showers there is only 1 minute between pump cycles and the run time is only 25 seconds. On a 15 minute shower there may be 8 or so pump cycles (removed shower head flow restrictor). Is this hard on pump? How big should the tank be 44 gal ok, 62 good, 86 better. Would like to water the grass without burning out the new $1700 pump. Thanks

James, thanks for the questions. You definitely need a larger tank because that constant cycling is quickly chipping away at the pump's life. With irrigation systems it's actually best if the pump runs continuously while you're irrigating. A cycle stop valve and small pressure tank might be a better option for you. What great news and just in time! We are having a shop built that will have our canning kitchen, ¾ bath and a dog dedicated bath fixture. The site manager said there’s an 8’ drop from the house to the back of the building. The bath will be about forty feet away from the house and is closest to it. They want to move the septic system down to the end of the yard, about 800’ away from the house. They said the pumps were astronomical but these don’t seem so bad cost wise. Would these be what we need?
Chris, I also have another question. We are on a shared well with one other house. The well is about 25 feet from ours and we pay for the electricity. The neighbor is up hill from us. When we are taking a shower, and they use water for what ever reason, we lose water pressure. It’s quite irritating when trying to shower. What do we need to keep our pressure when they use water at the same time?

I have a 1200 gal septic tank and my drain field is about 30/40 feet away. What would you recommend and how much hp would be best for me?

Can you restrict the out flow of water from a jet pump i water a garden with a jet pump and the presser is too high theirs no presser tank or anything is it safe to run the pump with the valve about half open?

You can throttle a pump with a ball or gate valve no problem. In a smaller jet pump (2hp or less) you have little to worry about in doing so. Thanks for watching!
