  • This was my second time climbing Mt.Adams, but first time camping on Mt. Adams. We climbed from the south side out of the cold springs campground. We packed all the necessary evils for camping (I don't love camping) like tents, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, water filters, and dehydrated meals, as well as mountaineering gear: helmets, crampons, ice axes, and gaiters.
If you'd like the Gaia GPX for the climb, drop me a comment!
Always remember to be respectful of the mountain, leave no trace, and be aware that your personal safety is your responsibility.
Be safe out there, and enjoy some of life's greatest moments, and mountains.

Great video! Thanks so much for putting this together, and especially for covering some of the important safety things like not wearing crampons while glissading.

Thanks so much for your comment! It really means a ton. I'm big on safety, especially with climbing (it can actually mean life and death out there).

Great video! What month did you summit?

August last year! Great temperature and the snow held up relatively well.

For a two day, would you recommend fri/sat vs sun/mon for crowds?

Likely Sunday/Monday is going to beat the crowds better than Friday/Saturday. That said, it wasn't terribly crowded when we went. Lunch Counter has more options for campsites than you'd think!

    How technical was the climb?

We didn't need any ropes. We all had ice axes, crampons, and helmets. The steepest parts of the climb are from lunch counter to piker's peak, and the final climb up to the true summit. I will say, you do need to know how to walk and climb in balance.

Thank you for sharing! Loved the video. I’m convinced I can do this. Can you drop that gps file??

Anyone in good shape can get up to Adams. Most people do it in July I think.
