I feel the need to address some of these comments to hopefully cut down on some of the misinformation seeing as the video is gaining traction. My sister is not a bird person (obviously) so yes she doesn't quite understand his body language and how to approach him. However, I obviously do. Just watch a few of my videos to get an idea about that. Placing his beak on or around hands or to touch things is not out of the ordinary and is NOT biting. Toucans do not have hands and therefore use their bills a lot to feel or learn about things and their environment. just because he's 'biting' does not indicate aggression with toucans. These are gentle grasps. The snapping, however, was more aggressive. At no point was he forced to do anything he wasn't willing to do. If he was uncomfortable he would have simply jumped to the other part of the room. That being said, he was mildly uncomfortable and I was aware of this and wanted to push his limits in a safe space with someone I knew I could trust. His general calm demeanor and personal story would make him a great bird to do public demonstrations with and I want to get him comfortable with being a little outside of his comfort zone and socialized to strange people because theres even more of that in public.
There was about an hour of him sitting with us with no interaction from her before the video and after the video he continued spending time with her and eventually even let her pet him for quite a while.
Parrot body language does not completely transfer to toucans. Toucans are generally more brave and assertive. Anyways, hope that makes some sense to you guys and explains his behavior a little better!

The beak was in pretty rough shape in T-Pacs first vid, but I think a better nutrition and the owner applying oil to the beak (I think he said coconut) helped it repair itself. When birds beaks look like that, it's usually because they don't have a good surface to rub it against. If it's concrete, it can do some damage but good at remove giant flakes so one or two in a cage seems to be fine but I like using a long softwood perch since it seems to buffs a lot of the beak damage out.

I just noticed the flaw in my thinking: somehow I thought you had commented on her being cute, and I wanted to say that the bird is cute as well. - But it turns out, that this is not what you said (and neither what I said). Sometimes my reading (and commenting) “between the lines” picks up nuances that were only in the eye of the beholder. - So yes: You are right, the sister shows more patience and tolerance than the bird, in fact the bird struggles to tolerate her at all (- but does so out of curiosity I think).

Criz yeh, its ignorant to the initial disability; but there are also plenty of autistic people I’ve known through the years who also really don’t get upset, or offended when others use the title to reference something. In fact I have a couple close friends with Asperger’s syndrome; and one actually uses the label about himself frequently, to poke fun at his own goofs. It all really depends on the company, and what they deem as humor; vs what offends them. I love the way Ripley gently picks the blueberries off her hand, and when he catches them he rolls them to the end of his beak before swallowing them. He is such a beautiful fellow.

thanks for showing us the bird since the head and beak are amazingly beautiful. I was able to handle owls, hawks, falcons and even a vulture. The feathers around the eyes are amazing to see close-up; so intricate and gorgeous. Falcons are very alert (they watch You). The Great Horned Owl was the King raptor in the group. The vulture's nostril goes all the way through side to side. Otherwise he was just heavy.

I just randomly stumbled upon this video. What a colourful and fantastic looking pet :)
I think a couple of days, or even weeks, would be best to aquaintance someone to even animals. Anyone (animals included) that attatched to someone will notice when some _other_ creature is also close to you, but if they haven't met before, behaviour resembling jealousy may surface. At the very least extra scepticism/protectiveness. May be because owner/"dad"/"mom" just _expects_ you to be thrilled and friendly to this random new person, and doesn't take needed measures.
I'm trying to not project human behaviour onto other creatures lol but this _is_ what happens more often than not, if some owner tries to rush things with an inherently wild pet to somebody else close that haven't met the creature.
Edit: Probably doesn't help that your sister is imitating his unfriendly behaviour and noises either. I don't ever get why humans try to copy animal behaviour when they're agressive and think _that_ will help, instead of just being themselves, but this is what most people appear to do... (same goes for mating behaviour, and then doesn't realize why (or not at all that) the pet is acting all "weird" to them)
Most times, when introducing yourself to any animal, domesticated or not, the best thing is just to ignore them, but to be around them, and eventually they'll trust you more after observing your behaviour, and eventually _they_ will approach _you._
Should never expect great results by rushing things, human or other animal.
I so imagined your Toucan without it's beak, i can never go back.
