The leaking part around the 10 minute mark is a regulator. Carefully remove and clean but the sealing faces were a little feral. If you get some very fine sand paper on a sheet of glass, rub the faces till they come clean and even. You could try draw-filing but be careful. When ready to put back together, wash parts dry and use a small smear of gasket silicone on the outer seal surface, now re-clamp parts back together but only nip them up, let it cure for a few hours in warm place then tighten some more, fit and check for leak. If you still have issue, replace the diaphragm.
So pleased Jesse. You make these video's for me to watch. From Trucks to buildings. threre no stopping you. When you put your talent to work. Thank you young man.
What I love about Jesse's channel is when he starts a project, it will get done. I drive a similar rig at work except it's the Hybrid model... ironically it uses more fuel than the conventional trucks 😂

It is mess with more Rust and a really bad Frame. Before spending time and money, i would suggest to clean and prevent the frame against corrosion. With a clean and solid base all the following work would be worth of spending. As others wrote, even here in Germany this Truck would never ever make it to a safety inspection
European laws on trucking and cars in general, do not allow for ANY type of sketchy rust on frames or brake components. The roads are much smaller, and much more densely populated. Any kind of component failure would result in a real disaster, hence no chances are taken with large dangerous vehicles. It is either correct and very safe or it cannot be on the roads.
Really excited to watch this series, but I truly feel like you should have bought a similar truck from down south to avoid the rust issues this truck has.
Jesse, i'm surprized that u had pass inspection without a front bumper! Butt u did pass. good job getting all of the things fixed.. ur kids like the truck.
Trying to register truck like that in a country I'm living, some agency would have you arrested for trying to do it with a vehicle in such state of despair, rust, tail lights zip tied, wires all over... You're really lucky being able to do that that in NY.
that's going to be a nice truck when you get it all set up. we had several in the fleet at work. as far as your heat stuck on those hvac control heads are notorious for going bad since its all electronic just something to take a look at if the blend door checks out
Hahhahha , "it will drive like a Cadillac with some weight on it", I love it , I give similar arguments my wife but they never come true , I hope yours do. Thanks for the awesome video again.
When you remove the rear axle, that will be the time to address the frame. It will then be easier to remove air lines and harness. Before going hog wild with sandblasting or laser, try a needle scaler. I think most of that rust is surface and will drop right off with a compressor run needle scaler. HF has an inexpensive McGraw brand name that works pretty good. If you are swapping axles, it wont be that hard to remove the cross members, which you will probably have to do to move your drive shaft carrier bearing. Then the whole rear frame is exposed. JC Smith Projects has some good videos on moving axles and a slick way to quickly move the holes for spring carriers and bump stops (you probably already saw). Once all the stuff is off, you can probably scale the back in about an hour or two. POR15 is pretty expensive and some people have had mixed results. You might consider using a rust converter first, and then use a self-etching primer and some good old Rustoleum or some tractor paint will probably be good enough. Tractor Supply sells some farm/implement paint by the brand name Majic. You can get a whole gallon of it for $60. Definitely get the Catalyst/Hardener. For $85, you will have enough for the frame, fuel tanks, steps, etc. They also have some Rust Kutter for the rust conversion. I think it is just phosporic acid though. If you pre-treat with that, wipe down with some acetone. The self-etching primer basically has some acid in it already. The factory frame looks like that because the stuff they put on at the factory is $hit. It will be harder to address the front end, but again removing the front axle will give you much more access. You have some rot on the lower body. There is where the hours can burn. Hopefully the cab floor pans are solid. A diesel tank with a pump behind the cab would be good and the tool boxes on either side of it. I just got a 8'x9' brand new Knapheide steel flatbed with the removable steel sides from a place called Fayette Trailers in Cocolamus, PA for $2300. Might be 250 miles from where you are though.
yea I plan on putting many hours into this truck. Atleast I know it will be worth it. I probably have 100 hours into my pickup truck just for it to keep rotting away with the stupid box frame. I will never buy another truck with a box frame unless I get it for almost nothing and only plan on having it a short time. That is why I got this truck. Because I know I can maintain that C channel frame
@@jmuller86 Yeah, spent most of the winter restoring a +20 yo Toyota that had the famous Dana sourced frames. I carefully inspected it for deterioration prior to purchase on my back with a flashlight. It looked good. Until afterwards when I discovered the seller filled rotten voids with expanding foam, body filler, and undercoating. Thanks for the deception. I am almost done with one more welded steel patch to do. That too is boxed. I think the key to those is a liberal annual coating of a "fluid film". You can make your own with used oil, a tube of grease and a melted wax ring used to seal a commode. Heat outside to melt/mix, load into a gun and shoot it. That can at least go a long way to preserve. The trouble starts with a lack of treatment from the factory because it costs to treat the interior of the box. With a C-channel, if properly treated (acid/primed/painted), you can just pressure wash to rinse the sodium and calcium chloride, and touch up as needed. If you maintain it regularly, you can prevent it from ever getting to the point your International is. When you were inspecting your brakes and suspension components, the hardware looked pretty crusty. I would replace your brake chambers. Maybe the replacement axle will have better ones, or buy new for those. You may have a lot of parts you will want to replace to get everything properly sorted for the long haul. It will add up. In some sense, by the time you buy everything you need, it may have been better to spend more initially to source a southern or western truck, but we'll see. It will be fun to watch in any event. We know you will get the job done.
The registration difference is all single vs tandum rear axles I believe. Or that is how it was where I lived. The insurance difference is massive too.

One suggestion would be a removable bed on adjustable legs. This way would could just have a carry bed with low sides then you have an option of building a second removable bed with a box camper for it that gives you a multi use truck and you have some flexibility. I wonder how a 20’ shipping container measures out maybe ?

Better get yourself a good sand blaster and a diesel compressor for that project. Getting a truck from the North is always a challenge due to the rust. Nice rig Jesse, I’m sure you will do it justice!
I get home from work and check to see if Diesel Creek uploaded a new video, didn’t see one so I pop onto your channel and am happy to see one, start your video and you do Matt’s video opening style 😂😂. Great minds think alike lol

Sure ya know but SOAPY WATER is yer friend w the hunting down the air leaks! Congrats on the crew cab! Wild to see so much grease AND rust! We do not see corrosion like ya guys do here in west coast! Very excited to follow yer channel man! Cheers from Santa Cruz Ca
Dude, if that was my truck i would soak the whole frame and body down with fluid film, living in michigan non of my vehicles rusted out after spraying the inside of the doors, tailgate, rocker panels, hood, complete undercarriage Etc with it. i bought the Pro kit off amazon comes with 2 gallons and the sprayer and spray cans with a 360 degree hose for going up into the rocker panels and doors. it was used by the Navy back in the 50tys, they sprayed their ballast tanks to prevent rusting, its a Lanolin wax, great stuff.
I did that to my pickup truck one year and it just collected a crazy amount of dust , like half inch thick. I guess it works but I hate having a thick film on there of dust and oil. I plan on stripping everything down and repainting everything. maybe even with POR15. I will go the extra mile to make it nice again

Jesse Muller, new name: Mr. Do It All. Nice job brother.
In this episode, watch as a boom lift and a front loader defy the laws of Geometry.
Alright ,hanging out with Jesse on a Friday! Coffees on! Cheers!;-)! Pumped!;-)!
You have a dump truck.
I would think a heavy duty winch would be more suited.
Great video as usual
Cheers.
Best channel on the tube
Man, I am so excited to watch this transformation! it looks like you’re going to have a battle with the undercarriage rust. I live in Georgia and we don’t have any of that. Good luck!
Hey that is a nice truck. 👍👍👍
Flatbed and toolbox is great idea
I saw a us forest service f550 with a gooseneck hitch and dump body. That would be cool to see here too
German TÜV Engineers having a nervous breakdown only from watching the brakes and air tanks.. :)))
I just want to see the frame sand blasted and primed to see the condition of where your starting at! .. glad to see you could down grade your gvw to 26000
Better get yourself a good sand blaster and a diesel compressor for that project.
I thought I was watching diesel creek for a second at the start!😊
so nice long movies of you wowww makes my day good
The men on both sides of my family were all truckers. So Im not gonna lie, Im super curious to watch future progress on your build.
For the last decade l have been buying our family’s used cars from somewhere outside the rust belt.. as we too live in the rust belt! 😢
The new family ride will be Awsome...👍
This vehicle could become many things with your talent. Maybe being used a lot to have some family time and trips would be something that you'll value and build memories with the family.?🤔?🙂
Talk about your family " Truckster" Drive that to Wally World.🍻
I love that new garage.
Nice family car dude, you be styling and profiling.
Pressure Regular. Likely has a value hole when at pressure it opens a tear. Likely supper over charged once and tore it.
Bro, here I was thinking it was going to be 6 months to a year before we got an update lol😂
I feel like that truck is going to turn into a huge project with all of the rust on it. Hopefully you won’t find anything else wrong with it
Sure ya know but SOAPY WATER is yer friend w the hunting down the air leaks!
5/10/24..Jesse, love it when you include your kids in yur videos!...oh yes having Boss Mom make rare appearances is fine too...but I tell you, I don't care what you film/video...Plasma cut, pour/grade a gravel driveway, rebuild a skidd steer diesel engine or watch you do sheet rock float like your Mother...I jump to watch you & yur family make accomplishment! Hope you keep this up...someday you may need (yup need) to run for political office based on your record of 'hands on' accomplishment! Who else can say that? Sleepy Joe? Crazy Donald?..or RFK jr...with a worm inside his head...! Jesse, keep on building, ain't no BS with you! ( or Andrew, or Diesel Creek etc.) Love your channel & your honest 'hands on gotta fix-it' attitude! Only thing missing is your BBQ & cooking skills! Oh yea, we voters need to know if you can cook/BBQ..very important relatable activity on this!!!!LoL !👍✅️..stay safe & carry on! Take us back to your big garage...wiring, plumbing & insulation should be next, aye? Show us how you are doing on the 'new' garage!💪👍🔧⚙️🔨🍺😊
I think its time for some form of blast cabinet Jesse, would be a huge help in refurbishing used equipment. But that means having a more serious compressor to make it work well. Great work as usual!
Nice to see you a gain
I’m so excited to see what thing is gonna look like in the future.
I really enjoyed this video, maybe you can also consider the option to boxing it, so you can keep your stuff dry.
Hello Jesse. If it ends up being a travel truck, perhaps a sleeper would be more fitting. You always do the right thing, so we will just find out what happens. Have good days!
I'm really looking forward to the follow up videos on this truck thank you.
Good luck whit the new truck.
Greatings from POLAND😁
I can't believe it passed an inspection, it definitely wouldn't have here in the uk..
