This is awesome news CT. I am a Rekordbox user and now if I want to get the feel of playing vinyl w/o switching to Serato, I don't have to. AlphaThea was smart in doing this.

Great vid as usual! Do you think they'll add the long press option to the instant scratch button too? Or does that take the "Instant" out of "Instant Scratch"? I've pressed that button so many times instead of the loop button in the mix. Respect coming in from the UK my friend

Going to try this later today. Great update. I was also hoping you were going to say I could use my logo on the displays when connected to iPad, instead of it just showing "no audio driver". Maybe that's a function of the device not having storage for it. I guess I'll see how it behaves. Thanks CT!!!!!

Thank you Cleveland!!! One thing I couldn't figure out was the 33/45 long press. Settings within Serato? or the Pioneer utility...but got it now.

Or not? I used Rekordbox previously and stems quality is shit. It's the main reason I use Serato now.
Next to my vinyl and dvs setup I also have a Rev7, and I must say. It will blow your mind. I love it!

Ive been using stems on the rev7 so I was really hoping also for a scratch sample update for instant scratch
Did they do something with that instant scratch button? I hit it by mistake all the time
This is a fantastic update. Mind you, I’ve gotten used to the 45 button being and there and avoiding it like the plague, and my midi mapping for stems works great. But I really like that they didn’t just bring in an MK2.

For the Rane controllers can we use Rekordbox?? Or we need to wait until happens?

I'm a rekordbox dj, try Serato in the past but could't adapt. In my city clubs only uses CDJ or XDJ, so it is much better for me to have the songs edited on rekordbox.
NO, I'm not going back. I switched to Rekordbox because I DJ house music with CDJs. Even though organizing my files with Rbox and carrying a thumb drive to the party was a pleasure, the software became way too expensive and less stable than it used to be. I only use the free plan when spinning at House Music Gigs.
Back to Serato and Controllers-Rev 1 & 7
And of course Serato releases a DJ Pro update today with Stems feature updates for a Rev 7 as well 😂

Yo Cleveland, do a full walkthrough dude, does the Duckdown, Waveforms, pre cue, Pad modes split stuff ect all work with Rekordbox? What is missing if you use this with Rekordbox?
Been waiting since Forever it feels to get some moving platters that work with Rekordbox without having to use Turntables or spend 2.5K on the Crss 12 things??

Anyone have issues with the platters not working in Rekordbox? I did the update and installed the drivers and still nothing. The tracks will play, the platters spin but nothing else. Is there solution for that.
Can i do this on Virtual Dj as well?

So what is this feature: Stems Separate
Move an isolated Stem to another deck to make live remixes, add effects, or manipulate it further without affecting the other Stems from that track
I’m wondering if you are still able to use Roll so I can still have the echo outs and such. I’ve just come so accustomed to it BUT I really want to use stem eq as well. I didn’t know if the replace goes away now?
If/after you update, go to preferences and see if that's still an option.

I can't figure out why my music does a quick second pause while playing using the rev 7 on the virtual dj platform. Any clues?
It’s likely a VDJ thing.
One thing that I am taking away from this firmware update plus the new theta mixer news is that I think AlphaTheta and serato are about to break up in a major way. The writing is on the wall. Serato is requiring users to pay an upgrade fee to have Serato support the omnis and the new rotary mixer and then now a firmware update gets released that gives rekordbox support to one of their flagship controllers (Rev7). Seems like AlphaTheta could be gearing up to push rekordbox and marginalize Serato. Thoughts?

Best day ever. Omnis-Duo gets Serato. REV7 gets Rekordbox. Opus Quad gets better Serato functionality.

Have you heard anything about prime 4 plus stems coming out of Beta?
Look at the mpc line for what stems will be at some point. Not this current version.
@ClevelandTerry thanks for the response can't wait for the stems to be complete for my unit also can I connect a rane 12 turntable to my prime 4 plus just to get the feel of a motorized turntable will it work with my standalone?

This is literally a dream come true!! I have been so disappointed with serato recently and was rooting for the AlphaTheta takeover, so they would release Rekordbox for the REV7
What about stems separate/split that was supposed to also be enabled on the Rev7 with this update?

@@ClevelandTerry Serato just updated their quick start guide, there is a quick description about stem separation:
“While playing a track on the source deck, press SHIFT + a Stem Mute slot button on the target deck, where you wish to use Stem
Separate. The Stem and its state will move from the source deck, to the target deck, allowing individual track Stems to be split across both decks for indvidual manipulation.”

Replace one of your pad modes. It's in the settings.
Hope they update stems soon. It sounds so horrible in rekordbox.

Because rekordbox didn’t work with the rev 7 at all prior to this update? That’s like winning a free Ferrari and being annoyed that the interior is white.
Sheesh can they drop a firmware update for the DDJ-800 to work with SDJ…….. I’d buy 1 with the quickness. 😮💨
My guess is Ddj 800 or any older controller is the not going to happen. The Rev was a very specific thing.
@@ClevelandTerry yea the tech is definitely dated. I have always felt that’s its the sweet spot of Pioneer controllers having truly the best overall features.

I'm a Rekordbox DJ and Serato DJ Pro user. My only gripe about Rekordbox version 6 is the analyzing feature, as you may know it's SUPER DUPER SLOW!!!!😡😡😡😡 That's the ONLY reason I cancelled my Version 6 subscription. It didn't bother me that Rekordbox DJ didn't work on the Rev 7 I knew that before I purchased it, however it works on my DDJ SX2. I just wanted a Pioneer DJ controller with moving platters. I'm not a fan of the Rane One controller or Rane, Numark products for that matter. All of my controllers and mixers are Pioneer DJ. I had (4) controllers now I'm down to just 3 (sold my DDJ SR2). With this update I will be renewing my subscription. I still use Version 5 on my DDJ SX2. The analyzing on version 5 is SUPER FAST!!!! They MUST improve the analyzing feature with Version 6. If you have any connection to the powers that be at Alpha Theta (Pioneer DJ) I'm BEGGING YOU 🙏🙏🙏🙏to have them address this issue ASAP!!!!!! Thanks DJ Bro.💯

It’s a firmware update. I’m only showing you the new features. You don’t need me to tell you how to install the firmware. You’re a big boy.
If you update Tidal, you will lose the ability to use stem…. So don’t update Tidal.
Stems come back April 10th. You’ll be ok.
