I've been watching Jiří almost since his first fights and even then there was something special about him that gave people the feeling that he was going to go somewhere. The thing that surprises me most about this fight is that they don't talk about qualities other than punching, technique, wrestling, and making significant mistakes. All of that is obvious even to someone who maybe hasn't watched the fighter in question for a long time.
For me, Procházka's greatest asset is his mind. That's a broad term but it can be shown by the fact that he never gives up in a fight, even at the end. That's not to say that fighters routinely give up fights but there are plenty of fighters who unknowingly slow down and just want to finish the fight. Jříi is still going as hard as his body will allow him to go and he's still looking for a way to win. It was great to see in the Glover fight. Even with 30 seconds left, he has no reason to let the fight go.
Another advantage of Procházka is the long time between fights. That may sound more like a disadvantage because a lot of fighters could be hurt by a longer break between fights because they wouldn't focus as much on the important goals. But Jiří shows that it rather benefits him and always comes back with another level up. Not to mention the fact that he was able to heal his whole body in the last big break, not just his shoulder.
Another advantage is that the Procházka can withstand a lot and I don't mean withstand utter nonsense something like zombie mode but a slightly different kind. When Glover was choking Jiří, I wasn't as worried as some because he's been in critical situations like that in RIzin and always gotten out of them. He does, in fact, remain calm in such situations and thinks about escaping. Similarly, he can take a punch where he is able to get a KO and within a second he is back up and running at the same tempo. Which lends itself to another thing and that is physical stamina.
You can argue how Glover almost finished Jiří in the fifth round if he hadn't taken him down but try fighting clearly and without mistakes at that tempo and in the fifth round. I guess it won't be a surprise if I'm picking Procházka as the winner. Not just because I'm a fan of his but because I know he simply hasn't shown us everything yet and it showed during the Glover fight. The plan he had, he only executed the main part of it when the focus was on wrestling and grappling defense.
But I believe Jiří, like Hill, could have ended Glover with a KO.

First off, let me state VERY clearly that I am fans of BOTH fighters.
I admire both of their unique fighting styles, unbreakable mentality, hard work, dedication, and perseverance. I also have full confidence that this fight will be one for the books. What a hell of a match up.
Second, I personally have clear reasons to believe that the majority is leaning towards Alex to win this fight.
While I don't doubt for a single second the fight can go either way, and also understand that Alex really could just lay him tf out; I just don't think they understand just how insanely strong, explosive, and primal Jiri is. That's all I'm going to say. I am indeed taking his injury into account when I state that.
Like I said, it's going be an AMAZING fight and I'm looking forward to it; regardless of pre-fight gossip.

Alex is the slight favorite for a reason. It's a really fun fight and hard to predict.
Problem I see for Jiri is his stance, he is very heavy on his front foot. That's not great against someone like Alex, who is one of the best leg kickers this sport has ever seen. In a stand up fight, Alex definitely has the advantage, which doesn't mean Jiri can't catch Alex with something unpredictable. I don't think Jiris offensive grappling is good enough to use that as his main weapon in the fight. Jan is a better grappler than Jiri, so I don't think the grappling will be a problem. I think Alex will catch Jiri when he rushes in and TKOs him in either the 2nd or 3rd round.

I would just add 1 thing. You say Jiri's offensive grappling isn't good enough and I think we don't really know if it is. He didn't do any offensive grappling in his last few fights. When Glover vs Jiri was about to happen, people were like "Jiri is shit on the ground, Glover will demolish him in the 1st", yet Jiri was able to defend on the ground countless times and even reverse positions. I think these top guys, and I mean both Alex and Jiri, are very smart in learning things fast, so I think there is a good chance, that Jiri may actually be offensively better on the ground than Jan, he just didn't have the opportunity to show that. He already proved he is probably better defensively than Jan.

@@FF-wl1oo That's the thing. Jiri has never showed any sort of great offensive grappling so you can't claim he has it. Neither in his entire career in Rizin or the UFC has he shown any of it. He didn't do bad against Glover on the ground but Glover was winning that fight until he did a horrible mistake in the last minute. People forget that Glover would have won that if it wasn't for that. Maybe Jiri shows some really good offensive grappling in this fight but until we see it, we can't claim that he has that in his bag.

This fight is an easy 50/50. Jiri has the experience, but his last fight with Glover Texeira does raise abit of doubt especially since it seemed like he was on the losing side before getting the submission victory. Pereira is a huge threat but his last performance was abit of of a lackluster despite getting a split decision win. This is what makes this fight even more interesting, both are not only fighting for a title but also in need to make a statement. So may the best man win

Jiri is a good fighter but his record is super padded. His UFC wins are over a broken Reyes and a very lucky last second win over old man Glover. Alex starches him.

“very lucky last second win over old man Glover” is a horrible argument, cmon. Glover was on a 6 fight win streak heading into that matchup, beating the best of the best in the division. He went to war with Glover and won, which not many were able to do. That fight clearly ended glovers career, it was an inhuman amount of damage and he couldn’t recover, especially on short notice against Hill, at 42. But he was absolutely an elite killer when he fought Jiri. It wasn’t a fluke win either.
He also beat Ozdemir in the 2nd rd, who is a good fighter.
