It was one of the most watched movies on Hulu for a reason. It may not be you’re perfect little top notch writing and cinematic masterpiece but the majority are bored with that. It was great Mr. never sold any of his screenwriting’s for a film.
It wasn't the acting or the story that disappointed. As someone who never read the book, it was like watching a series where you missed the first few seasons and the last few seasons. The movie was just stuck in the middle.
I'm still confused of what the director wanted us to learn from this movie. Meaning the infidelity is more encouraged?

At first I was worried about the husband’s jealousy and the wife’s overly free-spirit. By the end I realized they were a perfect pair; deeply in love.

I think ppl just don't like seeing a woman control a man like this and hold power over him. He'll never leave her no matter what she does. Also, he's the face of batman, so it's conflicting to see him play a more submissive role in this film. Perhaps a different face would haven't had such a strong negative reaction, but 6 enjoyed the film! This actress is stunning!!!
