The line about if he was married to someone else that he'd be so bored was almost an exact conversation that Amy and Nick Dunne had in Gone Girl (the book). Nick wanted to leave Amy but Amy assures him that he could go out there and find some nice woman, some decent second wife, but knows that he'd come crawling back to Amy because she's fun and interesting and smart and different. This movie has such a similar feel. I can't wait.

@beep boop Yeah, it's just that in real life, it's a scare tactic and the threat that 'you'll come crawling back to me' is just that, a threat. In Gone Girl, Amy was right and Nick knew it. Nick *would* tire of a 'nice, normal, Midwestern girl' and actually would come crawling back. The idea of a man staying with a woman like Amy Dunne or the woman in this movie is just fascinating to me.
@@ddcrowley Just like some girls are always attracted to "bad boys" no matter the emotional turmoil and even in many cases physical abuse... Similarly some men are inherently attracted to "crazy" and unfaithful but beautiful women. 🤦🤷

Ana De Armas is incredible, and I adore Jacob Elordi’s acting and Finn Wittrock from American Horror Story.
Affleck is so old as the male lead for her. It's not even supposed to be part of the plot he is suppose dto be rich, not old, it would have been better if they casted a lead in his mid 30s. He looks like her dad.

Tom Hardy would have been a good fit even if his age is close to Affleck, he looks younger. I wonder if they made Affleck look old on purpose.

aye exactly....it's like that because it just always was...maybe that's it. The movie is appalling...a gathering of intolerable people
Its based on a book i believe by the same name, I think that it explains it better but I haven't gotten around to reading it yet but I think that the reason she is like it is because she is just bored because she has everything that she wants and more and she doesn't like the fact that he designed the chip that the military uses in their drones, so she drinks and uses men to try to hurt her husband so that he feels as miserable as she does down to her boredom and the fact that she knows that no matter what she does he won't leave her because he loves her too much, and she literally pushes the boundaries to see how far she can push them as it eases her boredom, which unfortunately results in people dying, shes pretty selfish if you look at it but i love the actress who plays her, all of them are good in this and it's filmed in a favourite place i love New Orleans although it doesn't take place there in the book and its called something else in the book and movie

I was very lucky in love between my late teens to late 20s. After taking some time to really find myself again, as well as a drastic career change, I've begun opening myself up to love. The thing is that I've never experienced the online dating world until now. While I do love my new career, my previous work environment made it effortless to meet people. I know I have no reason to be discouraged but I've been feeling really worthless lately.. I didn't have the energy to do anything today but sit around tinkering with my dating profiles, feeling hopeless. My biggest mistake though, was watching this movie and thinking it would make me feel better. Anxiety is through the roof. I do not want to fall in love anymore.

Ben affleck is SUCH a talented actor and writer. And he beats himself up too much. He is a master if his craft and im mesmerized by everything that he makes.

Jacob Elordi is in this movie is pretty interesting considering he’s not playing a psychopath in this flick I believe.
I was hesitant to watch this movie bc it was rated 5/10 but there’s so many great actors in this movie & they had a fair budget amount to create this movie so I figured I’d watch it and when it got dumb I’ll turn it off BUT this was actually a great movie I loved it. Ben Affleck is a great actor I love him if you didn’t get this movie that’s weird bc it’s really self explanatory not going to spoil but definitely worth watching and is actually a 9/10 in my book.
Never ever let rates and critic take part in your decision to watch something. What they take into account is totally different than what you do

Can't decide if I didn't really disgust with the idea that he keeps her knowing she is cheating on him and who cares she is different being different doesn't require the acceptance of this. She is not different just a cheater, and he kills to keepher. Just a sick movie without any purpose. Gone girl at least had a game in it that was suspcicious.

I wonder if it’s giving Gone Girl vibes just because Ben Affleck is in it. When the trailer first started it reminded me of the “Obsessed” era (The Roommate, No Good Deed, all those). I hope this is good cause i don’t think the trailer is cut too well.

After watching I want a refund for my time back immediately. My favorite character was the daughter, but she honestly wasn't even needed in this strange movie. I can't decide which character is more aggravating, Ben's or the other co-star. The trailer just made it seem like the wife has multiple entanglements, while the husband stands by emotionless yet jelous(spoiler)
Watching the movie, the only "twist" I guess, is the fact that Ben kills all her engagements and they make it seem as though the wife has no clue
