Hi Julie. I left a vintage very large ceramic cat that I had found in my basket and ran to the ladies room for two minutes. When I got back, it was gone, and I was heartbroken because I’m not a reseller. It was for me and I love cats. I looked all over the store and found the thief and kindly told her that was mine because I had hidden it under some clothes. Fortunately, for me, I was able to get it back. So sad we have to guard our basket like our purse!
The lamp shade was UNDER the afghan!!! So that means they dug in your cart! So rude!!😡
Never ever abandon your cart. Even if it’s just a few feet. In fact, if you make a habit of keeping one hand on your cart whenever possible you can avoid this mishap in the future
I thought I was the only one who'd forget something big like a lamp shade. Damn, they had to uncover it too, you "hid" it under that neat afghan. Some people were not raised right.
Julie.....stop leaving your cart. It always gives me some anxiety when you do that, lol. That's was completely wrong of that person to take from your cart!

Keep your cart with you! I see people walk away from their carts & that’s when people help themselves to items… sorry that happened.
I would have thought that (preacher's case) was a case for an old portable record player (like 1950's)!
I always cringe to see how far your cart is from you when you’re shopping!! I keep mine right behind me!! That was a great lampshade too!!😢
A few years ago I was at Greedwill and found large green frying pan and very small sauce pan. I only needed the skillet so I put it in my cart. Another lady a couple of aisles over found the dutch oven to the set and the very small saucepan. She came over and told me she wanted that pan because she had 2 of the set. She didn't ask nice - had she- I may have given it to her. I've given finds up before. Well she followed me thru the store. I figured she'd try to take it from my cart and she did - TRY. When I reached the book aisle she reached into my cart. I said - drop it! Do you really want to make the local news. She walked off in a huff :D
Oh my! Way to go! Lol Once I was at the bins and someone took my backpack full of stuff. So I walked around the whole place and found the placemats I stuffed in the pack that was thrown back into a bin, grabbed my backpack out of their cart and stuffed it deep into mine. I kept an eye out after that and was so turned off that someone would do that. I don’t play when it comes to ppl being “jerky.”
I am a reseller who thrifts at these Goodwill bins as well. I have had things stolen out of my cart many times! It is really frustrating!

That’s why I put a blanket or sheet over my shopping cart!! Yes people would be interested in those two frames for their vintage looking kitchens. How could you not notice that huge lamp shade missing?

Yep right after the trophy segment the lamp shade was missing.
If it was taken I choose to believe someone thought it was abandoned.
I think it’s possible, it was set back on a bin to organize/check the items in the cart, got distracted & left it.
It’s a lamp shade, no one is likely to steal a lampshade.
I've taken pieces of art like that that have a vintage vibe in the subject matter but over all just look too new and shiny and perfect and then aged them up by removing them from the frame and using crackle medium and wax or glaze. Find a crackle medium you like to create a crazed surface and dark glaze or wax over top, wiping off the excess. Put them back in the frames without the glass. Instant antique! Crackle medium is my best friend for creating crazing on almost anything. The kind I like are the ones you paint onto the surface and let dry, then paint over them. Instead of paint I use Polycrylic in satin or matte finish.

If someone would have taken an item out of my cart…and I noticed? I would have found the said item, took it back and told whomever, your messing with the wrong one! However, that does not happen at the Goodwill bins where we go! ❤

I was at an outlet where a woman turned away from her cart and someone stole HER Coach purse. Her wallet, phone, keys, EVERYTHING! The clerk pleaded over the intercom for its return. When I left, she was still waiting desperately for the thief to return it.

I would have bought the rectangular prints just for the frames! You're so talented that you would have figured a way to use them - you could paint over the prints and use transfers, display doilies, add wallpaper, etc.

It looks like you may be able to glue the broken frame back together. 💛 The 2 old wooden toys were adorable and the afghan was nice; I don't think crocheted shawls would sell. 😔*
Some people just don’t care, to steal right out of your cart, REALLY! I loved the ole toys, they would be perfect for my first grandchild, coming in Sept, they would look awesome in his nursery.
looks like the shade disappeared when you were checking out the trophies... so sad someone would do that, but on a good note at least it wasn't your purse with all important info in it

How do they get away with only changing the wall a few times a week? (3:58) My bins is so picked over within hours and has storage stacked two stories high so they try to get it out faster. Granted our GWB is way bigger than yours, but surely they get business?

Wow. Check other carts for your lampshade! Actually Someone stole our entire cart at Costco! Seriously who needed 2 bags of carrots, avocados and oranges.

If you take that trophy and spray paint it gold and then antique wax over it, they turn out cool!
I once heard that it pays to pick up trophies just for their marble stand.

Print out some labels that says SOLD and put your print your name as well on it stick the labels on each item
So wrong to take items out of someone else's cart. But you did get some neat stuff.
The very first time at the bins in ft Lauderdale my purse was stolen from my basket, rummaged through, and then they tried to return it but put it in the wrong basket. But, the joke was on them bc I only used that purse to hold my plastic bags and some tissue and gum. As if I would be dumb enough to leave my purse unattended in a room of what appeared to be all riff-raff. And I think more than one person was in on it. The employee I talked to was shady also and kept insisting I put my purse in the wrong buggy when, in fact, I never moved my purse after walking in. The whole scene shady. And when a new bin was rolled out, you would get trampled on and pushed aside. The whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth and I haven't been back since.
By here this is when you lost the shade how rude 😮

No one is rude. You walk away from your cart 24/7 and I'm sure the person who bought, thought you abandoned your cart. I can't wait for a normal person to grab an item that you point at, "oh I'm going to get that," and you ALWAYS set aside, but NEVER in your cart! Bring a twin size fitted sheet, to cover your cart, and park it while you aimlessly walk around picking. Congratulations to that buyer.

Have you ever been..everyone knows that a cart is not abandoned...if its in a cart it's taken. That's how it goes at the bins.
@@joaniebennerfulyou’re absolutely right! Items in carts are NOT fair game. At smaller outlets, people park their carts and run back and forth between the bins and their cart. Everyone knows carts are hands off!
