  • A major homecoming is currently happening in Livorno: the Tuscan city is celebrating the legacy of its most famous native son, the popular but tormented artist Amedeo Modigliani, 100 years after his death. Though Modigliani is most often associated with Paris, where he spent most of his prolific years as an artist, he was shaped by his port city upbringing in Livorno.
The exhibition “Modigliani and the Montparnasse Adventure. Masterpieces from the Netter and Alexandre Collections” features an extraordinary selection of works from the collections of two art aficionados closely linked to Modigliani, which includes an impressive section of monumental works by the master himself.
