My question may sound stupid, but I am just getting into Warcry, and have hard time understanding, how are you able to include non-hero, or ally characters in this warband? Are there some rules that I missed? Would appreciate if someone could help me with understanding this :D Also are you going to cover Kruleboyz Monsta-Killaz on the channel? :)
Ah, we are using the allies and bladeborn rules to include Hrothgorn, Quiv, and Bushwakka; Hrothgorn counts as an ally in this case and he brings the other two with him. I explain everything in my video on Bladeborn and allies here:
czcams.com/video/FTQt8kSNcpM/video.htmlsi=9eaNsFSb0bsfdQwU
As for Da Monsta Killaz; yes I'll be covering them once I get through this batch of videos. Games Workshop dumped a whole lot of content for me to cover :)
Thank you som much for the answer! :)
@cooler8488 no problem :)
Quick note, the video says the box comes with one of each Gorger. You can actually build all three as normal Gorgers without any clubs. For the two without Great Club there is also normal club options for both.
Rending bite is good when they are going to die for sure at the start of a turn and you dont have their activation. It puts a big chunk into a lot of things. It was suprisingly useful in my tournament last saturday!
Yeah for sure :)
Very informative evaluation of the new team. I'm still new to Warcry so lots of good info for me.
Glad to help :)
I'm thinking this:
Mannok
Torka
Shank
Clawback
Gorger X2
You can switch a gorger for a howler and that's 1000 dead on iirc, but the double gorger is 960.
Yeah that's one of the other options I was looking at; Mannok's ability is pretty good for them and those extra bodies are well welcome.
@@OffMetaMusingsAnd two sets of nets on top of the Mannok ability's gotta be pretty good.
Drizgit is a genius move. Good call!
many thanks :)
Tricky, but i still think I prefer the Gorger with club to the normal one. Just because they will hit on 3+ most of the time. Still the differnce is very small.
Yeah it depends entirely on what you are likely to be hitting. Out here we have alot of t3 swarm style warbands so the extra attack at s4 is fine. If I were against tougher warbands then for sure the club is a good choice.
Great breakdown, Bladeborn to the rescue again!
Lol, in a warband of 5 fighters, there aren't all that many options unless you wanted to drop one of them and go boggleeye and brewgit (which is probably the more boring option 😆)
@@OffMetaMusings lolll
Ive been meaning to paint my Hrothgorn crew for Underworlds for a long time now... so no more reason to wait... time to paint em up and have a modified ogre band ... I see some fun games coming between these Ogres and the Black Talons box in my future with friends
I've played a few games now with them and it makes a nice change from the ultra tricky plaustule I normally go for :)
@@OffMetaMusings indeed...these are not dis-engaging skinks by any means... If you've got enough points for a single divine blessing, you think bumping the strength of 1 gorger is better than bumping the toughness up 1?
@JimCrimmins a friend of mine is bring gorgers to warhammer world at the end of the month and this is something we actually discussed at length :) ultimately it was between +1S on one gorger or +1 Crit on both. Personally I wouldn't bother with the +1 toughness; I'm not entirely sure it will massively come into play vs fighters that can actually do a tonne of wounds to eat through a gorgers wound pool.
My plan was to take the clawback, howler, gorger with club and gorger with massive club, give them all divine blessing of toughness taking them up to 4 each and then getting Brewgit to boost their attacks.
From our testing we have kind of found that against stuff that will reliably get through their 30 wounds, there isnt much of a difference between t3 and t4. We have had good success with +1 crit though on normal gorgers.
@@OffMetaMusings I’ll try that out as a test. 9/10 times I roll a dice they normally fails as I’m really bad at rolling so I might go with the +1 strength on my howler if that’s the case.
Went for a similar list, but leader, 2 clubs, hrothgorn, quiv and a brewgit
That's pretty cool also; especially with the brewgit on your basic clubs getting around their 3 attacks :)
New erretta just upped Mantrapper and his grots by 10 a piece :(
If i remember that list with Mantrapper, all it really does to that list is drop the blessings and the numbers still work out.
Did the math and you are right! Woo!
I really start to dislike Bladeborn for Warcry. It's nice to have many different profiles to choose from but bladeborn seem to be omnipresent in the list building and still using 1.0 point system. Plus many of them are unavailable (minus ebay hunting), in fact two out of three suggested here are out of stock :|
I think that they are fine tbh; though I would see GW release their Jan FAQ (that may or may not be coming) streamline everything to be like their main games where they don't support miniatures that are not produced anymore. Despite their rampant production issues of stuff not always being available on their webstore, restricting minis to stuff they actually produce is a good move, even if they have to update the list every few years.
@@OffMetaMusings if they were better adjusted then yes, but right now for order warbands Kixi taka is almost no brainer to include and i have a feeling that Hrothgorn is becoming the same for destruction.
The thing is that both Hrothgorn and Kixi-Taka offer something that you just can't find elsewhere; range projection in the case of destruction and actual reasonable chaff in the case of order; in the case of Kixi-Taka you'll notice that he is mainly being taken by warbands that can't otherwise field sufficient numbers to really compete effectively
I like the bladeborn options but agree on model availability being annoying - saying that though, I have never played where anyone has any problems with a proxy
As someone coming from WU to warcry, I love being able to recycle my WU warbands, but i can see your point. Options are great, but too many options breaks the individual flavour of and reduce challenge for various warcry warbands.
Lol, how is Hrothgorn 300pts 😭
Haha, you think he is overcosted or undercosted?
@@OffMetaMusings under!
Lol I think if you compare him woth other 300 point fighters his damage is actually fine. The BIG difference ofcourse is that he can do that damage from 9" away which isnt taken into account in his warcry 1.0 costing (which is his costing now)
