- This last week, my air conditioning went out. Sadly, the timing was pour and it was mid heat wave in California. This meant temps as high as 105 degrees! My house would rise up into the low 90s, and my tanks quickly followed. These are the ways that I used to cool my tank.

Have you had a problem like this before?
No, and I hope to never.... EVER have on like this! If I do, this is one of the videos that I'll refer to!
@@Ibeencocojamar I hope no one has to go through this! Haha
Yes! I'm also in the Bay Area and there was one day that my betta tank was hovering in the high 80's and I was freaking out. I also put a frozen water bottles into my tank and it helped so much.
I real life had my temp going up a lot on my tanks. I had to unplug my heater and it didn’t help that my room gets the hottest.
I’m glad you got it worked out! How stressful! I can relate. My air conditioner went out for a couple days last summer. To cool my animal/fish room, I bought one of those portable ac units that has an exhaust hose that you put in the window. Thankfully all my fish and reptiles are tropical and contained to one room. I ended up putting an air mattress in the animal/fish room and slept in there though, because the rest of the house was unbearable. Those portable ac units are expensive. It took me almost a year to pay off.
I actually have one, (I had a bedroom in the garage when my aunt moved in with us), but I lost the battle on which room it went into... Haha
Man that's some crazy heat. Hope all is well. Glad that you were able to get everything under control. 💪
Thanks for this helpful video. It's getting warmer here in Disko Bay, Greenland.
Thank you for this video. Its been in the 90s here , my air condition had few issues and you help me with some common sence things to do for my 2 pet turtles. Thank you.
I put in a shout-out to "Bay Area Aquatics" in my last video. Thanks for your great content.
New here to show love. Very cool video and great ideas!
Welcome!
Actually, I like watching your longer videos. This doesn't feel like a long one to me. It's the shorter ones that get me bummin lol
I can never satisfy 😂😂😂 I get complaints for long ones and for short ones haha. So now I basically just apologize every video 😂😂😂
Thank you for sharing this video.. It's 113 here today and all we have is a portable ac. My tank is up to almost 90 and I really didn't know what to do.
Hey I had the same problem with my 40 gal stock tub outside.I’m in Saint Augustine,Fl.I used water bottles in freezer.I have White Clouds.
It's constantly 115°+ during the summer where I live so the tank I have outside (no space inside) is constantly going to 95 during the day so i really need to cool the hell out of it
same
Bro same what did you do
It’s 122 plus where I live
Did the fish live?
You can put filtered water ice cubes to help with evaporation as well
I live in the east bay and went through the same thing, except I have no AC. Thankfully my tank temps only raised to the 80’s. I’m definitely using the frozen water bottle method if it happens again. Thank you
I'm in Antioch. It was the struggle 😂😂😂
EAST BAY!
what temp would water be normally when in comparison to air temp? for ex. if the temp in the room is 100 F what temp would the water be? 90 F?
what filter is that in the tank with all the marimo moss balls?
Do I have to sit next to the aquarium for 24 hours if I use frozen bottle?
would ice cubes be safer for fish if its boiled before freezing them and turning them to ice cubes ??
Thanks! I have the tank lid open and a fan raised on a table and trained on the surface of the water. all lights off. IT'S 90 here in London and my elderly 2 goldfish hooligans say thank you.
And if one doesn't have an ice pack nor water bottles, one can always put a few ice cubes into a ziplock bag and float it in the water.
Yes! Valid substitute!
I’m gonna try this backwards
At 85 fish start dying for me. 90 i think all my fish would start dyinf
